Causes: Adoption, Children & Youth
Mission: In 2003, four concerned adoptive parents and professionals began hosting the Adoption Awareness Expo. They wanted to create awareness and educate the public about adoption. The Expo is a one-stop shop for prospective adoptive families to learn about the types of adoption and the adoption process. The Expo is unique in that it is a collaborative effort that brings together public, domestic and international adoption organizations under one roof. Due to the success of the Expo, in 2006, the group formed Adoption Coalition for Education and Support (ACES), a South Carolina nonprofit organization, to expand their services beyond the Expo. Programs include community awareness, pre-adoption and post-adoption training and support.
