Causes: Job Training
Mission: Ada's cafe and catering is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation dedicated to hiring, training, and empowering people with disabilities through its commercial food service business. Ada's also engaged local youth to participate in cafe operations as job buddies to partner with its disabled associates. Ada's believes that youth engaged in meaningful work and life experiences will feel more connected to their communities.
Programs: Both ada's cafe in the mitchell park community center in palo alto and the catering operation continued to thrive in 2016. In addition, construction began on the additional location in san francisco. In anticipation of the opening of the additional location, ada's cafe has improved its infrastructure and has expanded the population of the persons it serves to inclide persons dealing with hearing loss and deafness, ptsd, traumatic brain injury and cerebral palsy.
