Mission: To provide assistance to the people of the democratic republic of congo
Programs: Sewing workshops: through these programs, 60 - 65 women acquired the skills and capacity to work on their own and provide for their families with the graduation kit of a sewing machine and supplies to start their own businesses.
agricultural training: on a demonstration farm, an agronomist teaches the women sustainable farming practices, fighting malnutrition and providing a source of income for the women, who sell the harvest at market. The project serves 184 women, and is combined with the animal husbandry project, which provides compost.
literacy classes and job training at mumosho women's center offer the women of the community the means to read and write, as well as other job training skills including basket making and soap making, to sell their products at the local markets. Over the course of the year, these programs serve over 185 women.
the peace exchange - a fair trade initiative working with and employing the graduates of our sewing workshops.
