Causes: Civil Rights
Mission: We aim to establish a means for all american citizens to provide a collective voice (i) for the safety and security of the united states and its democratic western values and (ii) against the threat of terrorism.
Programs: Act for america is the nation's largest national security grassroots advocacy organization focused on educating, engaging, and mobilizing citizens and elected officials to impact legislative outcomes to protect our nation's security, western democratic values, and basic human rights. We led the grassroots effort that resulted in the passage of numerous state and federal level bills that enhance our national security, including wins with our signature legislative efforts: american laws for american courts, andy's law (anti-material support for terrorism), anti-female genital mutilation, free speech defense act and school textbook reform and passage of the taylor force act in the u. S. House. We hosted our annual national security legislative briefing on capitol hill, in conjunction with the national conference, that attracted scores of members of congress representing both the u. S. House and senate who updated the event attendees on the latest national security-related legislation and action on capitol hill and in washington dc.
