This rescue is judgmental and lies about their dogs. Don’t trust them. They just want the white and rich to adopt their animals. Good luck if you’re poor and of color.
This once dog welfare focused organization has over the years lost it's mission to find good homes and is now determined on finding elitist adopters. They are passing up on numerous outstanding candidates if they don't fit the S.O.S. mould. Don't believe me, that's okay. Please, I most sincerely implore you to find out for yourself. You have to see thier exclusionary tactics to fully grasp thier failure to dogs that need placement and thier out right refusal to adopt to people that don't meet the criteria of thier personal ivory tower of social upper crust. S.O.S. has gone from being the leader of a solution to dogs in need to becoming part of the modern adoption crisis.
This rescue says it’s a red flag if you’re too anxious and excited to adopt a dog. I had my heart set on adopting Brando and because I live out of town it was already a hard process. But because I was willing to do anything to make the process easier, and because I just wanted to move things along faster in order to make the plans to make the trip, they simply told me that they were going to move on from allowing me to adopt him. This is very judgemental and discourages me from even attempting to rescue another dog. I will be glad to contact a reputable min pin breeder as I’ve done in the past, willing to pay more money for a dog that no one will try to stop me and my family from loving. Thanks for my first and last bad experience with a dog rescue.
This is an outstanding non-profit for rescue dogs. After loosing my beloved Chihuahua from an auto immune mediated disease we decided to adopt a rescue puppy. Within a week the home inspection was done and my puppy; whom I named Daisy The Diva; was home with her forever mom and dad. Her foster mother clearly took good care of her as after she warmed up to us she has been a pleasure to love and play with. We just adore our Chi-weenie fur baby and she is with her forever family now. I would give a 10 star on this rating if it was permitted!

Saver of Souls was great when we were looking for a new rescue dog. They were very thorough in checking us out as a potential new home (very important for the safety of the pets) and stayed in touch with us after our adoption to make sure everything went well. I was able to get the back story of all the many volunteers that stepped in to rescue and we have continued to stay in touch even 2 years later on how well our sweet Raven is doing. I am so thankful that this rescue organization exists and saved our 4-legged family member. She is the absolute best pet we have every had!
Saver of Souls is an amazing rescue organization. I live in Los Angeles and needed to find a home for a dog I rescued from Downey Shelter. I am not a formal rescue organization and did not have a network of fosters, or access to adoption events. Toto's foster was unable to keep him anymore and I was desperate for a solution. I was familiar with Saver of Souls because I had volunteered to do transport for them a few times when they rescued dogs from Los Angeles kill shelters. I reached out asking them if I could send Toto to Virginia with their next group of Los Angeles rescue dogs. They immediately agreed and soon found the PERFECT home for sweet Toto. They put me in touch with Toto's new mom who was gracious in sending me regular updates about Toto's progress. I will always be grateful to them for Toto's happy ending. Saver of Souls has rescued countless dogs from the overcrowded Los Angeles shelters who otherwise would have been euthanized, and they go above and beyond to find the right fit for their rescue dogs!
They are amazing! I went to visit for get get a dog. I fell in love with 2. Asked my husband to choose and he couldn't choose. So here we are!
I volunteered with them while I was in Virginia for a few months and can only say good things for the care of the dogs and the passion for saving the dogs. A group I wish I was close to to continue to help out with all the wonderful people and dogs looking for forever homes.
Adopt or volunteer with these people who have a true love and passion for the animals.
I found my second rescue through Saver of Souls. She's the one lying on the grass next to me. They are an awesome organization-very professional! We love our new girl and couldn't be happier. We highly recommend them.
