Mission: To defend individual liberties and rights, as spelled out in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. the include the freedoms of speech, association, and religion, freedom of the press, and the right to privacy, to equal protection of the laws and to due process of law.
Programs: The organization addresses free speech rights, the right to practice religion of ones choice, the right to the equal protection of the laws and the right to a fair trial. ACLUFOSC files lawsuits to set important precedents that strengthen and expand civil liberties for everyone ($1,458,917). It also raises public awareness of civil liberties issues through press communications and research reports ($183,773). One of ACLUFOSCs recent accomplishments was blocking the implementation of Proposition 187, the anti-immigrant measure that assaults the US and CA constitutions, public health and basic human rights.
