A growing number of people with disabilities use social media to communicate. Access press, ltd is unique as one of the only cross-disability newspapers in the nation. Access press, ltd serves an important function in demonstrating the power of people coming together across disability and across issues by giving voice to the largest minority; a minority that each one of us will join at some point in our life. It is news updates, community calendars, and other features that help people with disabilities learn about what's happening in their community. The newspaper, website and facebook page help people stay informed about issues and disability related accomplishments. Access press, ltd networks regularly with more than 100 disability service groups around the state through its directory of organizations. Access press ltd works to promote the social inclusion and legal rights of individuals with disabilities by providing a forum for news, features, opinion and conversation to benefit and to teach individuals who are all too often invisible and marginalized in mainstream society. Access press, ltd currently publishes a 16 page newspaper on the 10th of each month, with a circulation of 11,000. Access press, ltd is available to all minnesota legislators during the legislative session, at their request. Many of the papers are also available throughout the metropolitan area, and there are many out-of-state free drop sites as well. Access press, ltd has approximately 350 subscribers around the country that the paper is direct-mailed to each month.
