Causes: Civil Rights, Disabilities, Disabled Persons Rights
Mission: Access-life, inc. Is a christian ministry whose purpose is to connect people impacted by disabilities with churches, organizations, resources and people within their community in an effort to provide access for the disabled and their families/caregivers to activities, resources and support organizations that aid in their physical care, christian spiritual growth, general well-being and quality of life.
Programs: In 2017 access-life, inc. Planned and executed six expo outreaches including three in florida, one in texas and one in tennessee as well as our 3rd international event in belize. The venues included west palm beach, jacksonville, ocoee, grapevine, jefferson city and roaring creek. Overall, 4,442 people attended these free events for individuals and families with disabilities that feature boat rides, bank fishing, kayaking, archery, animals, games, arts, crafts, lunch and more including both participants and volunteers. This total was up a bit from 3,704 in 2016, largely due the re-inclusionn of the cfl expo which was cancelled the year before as hurricane matthew hit the east coast of fl that same weekend. However, the overall growth of our other outreach impacted these numbers as well. The three house ramps we built in belize this year along with the over 100 mobility items and countless medical supplies given out at the expo there were bonus blessings to our domestic outreaches.
