Programs: School partnerships: 1647 works with schools over the course of the academic year providing training and coaching on family engagement with a focus on teacher home visits. Representative school systems include lawrence, salem, boston and milton.
professional development for educators: 1647 provides professional development on family engagement best practices. These short-term programs are with individual schools, school districts and individual education-related organizations and may run as long-term as 1 week per month, or as short-term as a single day program/ these professional development programs are focused throughout massachusetts with an emphasis on principal and teacher training programs.
family engagement landscape assessments: 1647 conducts assessments of family engagement practices for individual schools and school districts. Utilizing surveys, focus groups and other assessment methods, 1647 provides an analysis/status report and makes recommendations to bolster programming to improve family engagement as the school or school district moves forward. This pilot program began in 2017.
