Mission: 1199 bridge is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to reducing the number of suicides committed by sworn law enforcement officers. The goal is to provide information, counseling and opportunities that help these valued public servants avoid the devastating option of taking their lives and doing irreparable harm to their families.
Programs: 1) 1199 bridge is a system that provides additional options to identify symptoms and resources and save lives of sworn safety officers. 2) 1199 bridge is a backup program. If a member perceives a gap in other resources, 1199 bridge will provide counseling to allow the officer to have comfort in returning back to a long-term counseling program sponsored by the employer. This will help the officer follow a direction to avoid suicide.
