Mission: The American Precision Museum is a national center for the collection, preservation and interpretation of the history of precision manufacturing. Our mission is to enhance public understanding of the importance of precision manufacturing, the ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit which drive it and its effect on our everyday lives. (2007-04-28)
Programs: The museum exhibit Muskets to Motorcars: Yankee Ingenuity and the Road to Mass Production is open to the public daily from Memorial Day weekend through the end of October, in 2008 and 2009. We welcome 5,000 visitors annually. In 2008, we provided outreach to an equal number. Special tours and school visits are encouraged. School groups can participate in three activities, a guided tour of the exhibit with accompanying worksheets designed by teachers, the Windsor in the 1860s Quest, a walk-around our historic neighborhood with a set of rhyming clues and historic photographs, and demonstration in the Working Machine Shop.
