The mission of the Music Institute of Chicago is to provide the foundation for a lifelong engagement with music by: Providing the highest quality music education for all ages and levels of ability. Reaching individuals with music education where opportunities are limited. Supporting growth of therapy through music and the arts as a community service for individuals with special needs. Supporting lifelong musical learning in every community. Building upon a proud tradition of developing the exceptional performer.
Target demographics: Students ages 6 months to 101 currently!
Geographic areas served: Chicago and its suburbs; wiht cmapuses in Eavson, Winnetka, Highland Park, Lake Forest and satellites in Lincolnshire and Downers Grove.
Programs: Community Music School: traditional and Suzuki Instruction for over 3,000 students ages 3 to 101 in group and private settings, jazz, samba, chamber music, Musikgarten early childhood music and movement, musical theater and composition. ArtsLink school and community partnerships for over 5,000 students a year. Institute for Therapy through the Arts: creative arts therapy for individual and institutional clients all over Chicagoland and Operation Oak Tree throughout Illinois. The Academy program for 30 gifted young musicians each year; held on Saturdays at Ravinia. Nichols Concert Hall: concerts, recitals, recordings and other cultural events year round since 2002.
