We've worked with give IT. get IT. for many years purchasing laptops for students to borrow and use at our adult education site. The customer service has been fantastic, as well as the product they are distributing. If we have a problem with a devise, we simply call and are given almost immediate assistance. This has been true since their start in Belfast - and continues as they've grown into a statewide organization.

Such a wonderful non profit! I’m at the stage in my life where I’m starting in a completely new career, with the help of give IT get IT I’ve been able to successfully pass my classes and state licensing exam to become a real estate agent. I had a computer years ago that was just not up today’s standards and with their help I was able to have everything I needed! I wouldn’t have been able to do this without their assistance. I could not be more happy or thankful to this amazing company!

Give It/Get It has far exceeded their non profit information technology exchange program with their generosity, kindness, immediate attention and support lines to those in need. This organization Give IT/Get IT, had begun as an idea, by the proprietors of this nonprofit organization. We are so grateful to be recipients of their wondrous assistance, to allow myself and my son, a window to school work, zoom meetings, medical attention, required timely documentation providing and reaching out to those we needed to. We have come through the Pandemic and up to the present, with the help of these fine IT leaders. My son and myself, do agree, that this corporation saved his and my future and the continued need, with their assistance and support. We want to share our story with you. We have the "luck of the Irish" if you will, in contacting the Proprietors of this fine group and their incredible idea, now put into motion. They rushed to our aid and we are ever so thankful to them. We hope the people who are in need, know that you won't find a better resource anywhere, because of these fine folks who give their heart and soul, have compassion and work together, to make individuals lives better by connecting them to their needs and the outside world. His life has become more fulfilling. His is now blossoming into getting ready to pursue college online classes to become an X-Ray Technician. Additionally, he gets to speak to new friends he has made since receiving support. With heartfelt thanks to this nonprofit organization, during the COVID-19 Pandemic and up till now, he has risen above to reach higher, attend to his needs, wants and now towards his future. We believe that without them, he would not have grown in so many, life changing ways. He tells his new friends who are in need, about this Non-Profit Organization, in hopes that their needs will be met.
We hope that their are more supporters, who can feel how important this Information Technology Exchange - give IT.get It is. Not only to individuals who are in need, but to assist in those who have need of advancement into the current technology age, for it is imperative that these needs have to be met for growth of the Country we call "Home of the Free and the Land of the Brave". Freedom isn't Free, but with help from give IT. get IT, they help us to feel that there is a nonprofit solution provider "give IT.get IT",, helps lift each other up. We as an organization did some classes at our Grange for the public and got a number of persons to sign up for the ACP program. In turn we tried to help them to get some kind of instrument to connect to the internet and I believe we succeeded with a couple of them for now. I personally was working with a Windows 7 and chose to buy a new laptop through -the Give it get it program and was surprised and pleased with the program. Thank you so much for the opportunity and equipment. I have a few items that I am going to donate to be recycled. Thanks Again.

My old computer was not working anymore. I hoped that I would not have to be without a computer. But I have very low income. My case manager told me about the Give it, Get it program. I was so grateful to her for for telling me about this program! I applied for it and I heard back the very same day,, that I was accepted!! I had never expected it to be so soon, but I was really greatful for this! Within only a week, the computer arrived! It was in great condition and I was delighted, because it had a bigger screen than my old my old computer! It works beautifully! I am a resident of New York State. I was introduced to GIVE IT. GET IT. through a senior service program that services the whole of the United States Of America. I was grateful at the time because I needed a reasonably priced computer. Not only did I get a reasonably priced computer; I was also offered technical support for free. I have been assisted and learned a great deal through the help desk. The help desk has kept my computer up and running long after the purchase of my computer.

I cannot adequately express how grateful I am for receiving this laptop. I am unemployed and wanted to enroll in a project management course to gain more experience to rejoin the workforce. I have given a number of computers/ tablets/phones from my elderly parents that I wanted to ensure that their personal information was securely removed and that their devices were properly disposed of, in the most environmentally sound manner. In addition, I reached out to GiveIT GetIT to get a senior friend a desktop system so she may be connected to the internet (for accessing telemedicine appointments, legislative activities, public radio and tv programs, and community activities). GiveIT GetIT provided all the necessary components and technical help necessary to enhance my senior friend's engagement in the world. What a fantastic organization.

I was able to get a laptop through this program and I am now finishing my diploma program and going to start my associates - all due to the help of this program.

I was able to get a laptop for school. The computer was all ready to go and it came with a really nice carrying case. The computer was sent to me in the mail. There were numbers that I could contact if I had problems or questions. I am so thankful for being given the opportunity of receiving the laptop.

Computer works great overall and has all new features, but it came a little scratched in some places. Love the computer though!

I was so impressed. They helped me get a laptop for my daughter who we just recently started home schooling. They were a pleasure to work with. The laptop was delivered within 2 days. I highly recommend them. I would have given 10 stars if it had been an option.

Over the past several years ( I think it has been about 12 years but I am not sure) I have been able to get 3 computers for myself, 2 for my husband, and one for my mother. I have also needed large monitors, a monitor stand, and docking port. Everything was great and has lasted a long time.

It is always easy to talk with Jody, she is so knowledgeable and helpful. I have always received the products very quickly. They have always been available to help me troubleshoot technical issues and have fixed or sent replacements immediately when something has gone wrong.

I returned to the University of Maine in 2019 to complete.my education degree. Money was tight, and I struggled to find suitable technology to complete my assignments. The Maine Department of Labor referred me to the Information Technology Exchange. I purchased a refurbished ThinkBox laptop for a fraction of the cost of a new device. That ThinkBox is still working, and I use it at home frequently, five years later..

I filled out an application and was waiting to hear if I was approved... but not long afterward a computer showed up at my door! I'm elderly, don't drive and can't get out much and so my computer is my lifeline for banking, socializing, shopping, looking up things, etc, I know a lot of folks use smart phones now but the screen is too small for me to see.

I was lucky enough to cross paths with 'give IT. get IT.' a few years ago, while I was down on my luck. They provided me with a new (to me) laptop, preloaded with all of the maintenance programs I would need to keep the computer running smoothly. They included a carrying bag, charger and a quick start guide that made startup and operation extremely easy. As far as I'm concerned, and I'm nobody special, this is one of the most important nonprofits out there. Not only do they fulfill their stated goal of providing IT devices to under-served populations, but they divert e-waste from our landfills. That's one of the the best "laws of unintended consequences" I've ever heard. Definitely a program worth donating to/working with.

Our nonprofit in Augusta, Maine purchased two refurbished laptops from give IT. get IT for two newly hired employees. The price was very good and they came with a protective carrying case. One month in, I discovered that the laptop would not hold a charge. When I planned to be in Waterville for work, I called ahead to ask if they could look at my computer and they agreed and replaced the battery while I waited. A week or two later I called for technical support and my call was answered right away and my question was quickly answered. Great service all around. Happy to recommend this nonprofit to other nonprofits in Maine looking for low-cost, reliable devices that also provides ongoing technical support for purchased devices.

This organization is absolutely amazing. I went through a emdc program that approved me for a laptop so I could return to college. I received a email saying I was approved. At that point I was thinking it would probably be a week or two before I got it. However, 2 days after I was approved by emdc, give it got it sent me a email with a FedEx tracking number. I was already surprised to even hear from them that soon. That was on a Friday. Then I deleted the email by mistake and emptied the trash and forgot to save the email so I would have the tracking number. I sent give it got it a email late Saturday, I was sure I wouldn't hear anything from them until at least Monday, however they sent me a email on Sunday morning letting me know they would send me a duplicate email soon as someone was in the office. Sure enough Monday morning I received a email between 8 and 9 am. And then I even received a text message with the tracking information around 10am, and I didn't see it until about 11:30 that morning while I was writing a thank message to them FedEx shows up and the laptop was delivered. WOW imagine, so I got approved by emdc on a Wednesday and they noticed give it got it and who knows it it was wed, Thur, before they reached give it got it. But from wed being approved, notification to give it, they filled the order and shipped it and I had it Monday. The whole process literally 5 days it was in my hand, remember those 5 days was also over the weekend. Then the laptop gets opened and the thing is absolutely beautiful, in fabulous condition, runs fast, operates perfect I have never been so satisfied like I am with this, alot of companies have wonderful service but this was above all and I would recommend them to everyone, I have told several folks how wonderful they are and I will continue to spread the good word. If I ever need another computer or help to learn how to run one the WILL BE THE PLACE I CALL. Try them out, I guarantee you will be satisfied

I'm not going to get into details but I will say getting a laptop from Give It Get It for me was life changing. I'm not exaggerating I just went through an awful time in my life and was starting over from scratch. I am a volunteer with another organization that focuses on literacy and I am currently working with an individual who struggles with a brain injury on computer literacy. I reached out to give IT, get IT with hopes of finding a suitable and affordable computer for my student, and they were simply amazing! They responded immediately and went above and beyond to find the right computer and accessories, ensuring that my student had everything he needed to be able to use the computer successfully. After of weeks of trying to navigate other services and sending several unanswered inquiries to other organizations, it was so refreshing to work with give IT, get IT. It was very clear that they cared very deeply about the work that they are doing and the impact that it has on the lives of their donation recipients.

I am SO grateful to give.it! After many hardships these past 2 years I was determined to work as hard as I could on my own to overcome. I got back to work in a new job immediately after I was able to leave my abusive relationship but was trying to manage my remote work on just my cell phone. When you get personal service over the phone by one of the owners of the company who made sure the computer you were getting would fit your personal use - then follow up with calls, tech info, etc to make sure all is well. Its more than a non profit, through the 15 years and 2 computer systems we have become friends. They would be my top choice for any award!!!! Hope they keep up their great work connecting Maine with technology!

My first experience with these folks was back when they were PCs for Maine and I was director of a rural adult education program. I remember Chris driving up to the school with the computers we had ordered and helped our students to order, and when I asked if he had any more deliveries for the day he said he did and mentioned a town that was almost a 3-hour drive from where we were, and pretty close to how far he had just driven to get to us! They have always been helpful and knowledgeable, and now that I am advising at the college level, I'm still happy to refer students to them when technology is needed as I know they stand behind their work.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They helped me to figure out what I should get for my particular needs. I was very impressed with how quickly they got my computer to me! I have had absolutely no problems with it. It’s such a wonderful service they provide for people. It’s hard to keep updated with technology. It can be so expensive! I am a single Mom who needed to find a new career after a head injury. Luckily, there was an online program through my state to help me become a drug and alcohol counselor. I bought an inexpensive computer from ITE. No where else could I have gotten a comparable price. It is not like buying from Best Buy or Staples. They genuinely want you to succeed with your device so they initiate contact after the sale. Other stores also initiate contact by sending an automated "rate your purchase" email. It is not like that. You probably have not experienced this level of customer service. They want to make sure you are happy and will personally engage with you. You might compare it to AppleCare (which is pricy) emailing you to make sure everything is okay. ITE's support is free with the purchase.

Let me just say these people are absolutely amazing and definitely life changing. I reached out through their website and got a quick response from them. Jodi was so kind and a pleasure to work with you find the right system for me. I emailed with Mr. Darroch about my circumstances and how a computer would help. Between him and Jodi they helped me find assistance to pay for the computer. I was expecting it to take weeks but before I knew it the computer was delivered to my home. This place has helped me gain a new hope and a given me a gateway to follow my dreams to be a graphic designer and to help support my family so we don't have to struggle. I am fresh out of prison with no way to buy a computer for school so the program I'm working with set me up with them and they were super helpful got me a great laptop for school. Then I needed a CD drive and they gave me one. I had issues with my batterie and I called they had me come in and 10 min later it was fixed and I was on my way no charge.

I am a first-year college student who just got out of prison. I recently received a laptop from give IT. get IT. Without this laptop pursuing an education would be far more difficult. I was released from prison with two days left before I started classes. For a couple of weeks, I struggled to find a computer I could use to attend classes and to complete and submit my assignments. I can now complete assignments at home, which has allowed me to be successful in my education. I am now getting an A+ in my summer class and maintaining my 4.0 GPA with the help of this computer I received from give IT. get IT.

I got a laptop initially from another non profit and it did not run my screen reading software at all. My Assistive tech professional knew of Give IT Get IT and went to them for a better fit laptop. I am happy to report that I am happily moving through college with this laptop. Going into my second semester with it and I would truly be lost without it. I was referred by my local career center when I began taking some courses geared towards the goal of getting an at home job. They were very easy to communicate with and apply for. They provided information to help me choose the right computer and made the process easy and accommodating. They were able to get me the computer I needed to achieve my goals at an affordable price that I would not have been able to afford otherwise. I am so thankful for their help.

I love this Program give IT. get IT they where very helpful with my computer needs. I was able to purchase a computer for a low price. I called because my computer started to malfunction. She took her time to help me fix the issue for a good period of time. As well as sending me to the right person to fix my issue. But not only was my computer able to be fixed because it was an older computer, I was given a nice Window computer that I'm on right now! They sold her a phone charger for this powerful tablet and when it didn't work, told her the computer was junk and would she like to leave it with them and they would credit the $10 they overcharged her, in my opinion, for the charger and would get her a Kindle for $100. They never looked at the notebook or gave it to their repairman for a look over. She sent the notebook to me. I'm in SC and within a day determined it needed a new rapid charger that would work with that particular notebook. If they knew anything about notebooks and tablets, they would know they draw more amps and a simple phone charger and cord, just won't work. They could have at least let the repair person look at it. I wouldn't take a broken child's toy there for new batteries. What amazes me the most is that they offered to recycle it for her! Good scam you got going there. This can be posted in other places like the BBB. Very unprofessional! VERY. Watch out if they tell you it's internally shot. Get a second opinion!

What a great program for helping low-income individuals and other Non-Profits! And it has that small town feel helping with educating around "what you need to know about your technology". Great group of people.

I worked for a Non-Profit that needed a Network tech to make all of our technology(computers, printers, scanners, etc.) to work together because we didn't have the expertise. ITE worked with us to accomplish what we needed and showed us how to maintain what we were using at a reasonable price.

The PC's for Maine project is amazing! They have a program that helps people who have no money at all get a computer. They actively help you fundraise the money through the Give IT/Get IT site. https://giveitgetit.itec3.org/

They go above and beyond to help. The experiences I've had with amazing non-profit organization has been nothing short of extraordinary.

I was able to purchase a desktop pc for only $50 due to my financial situation 10 years ago. I needed the computer to help me get through college. This company made the computer just what I would need to do just that. They are an excellent resource for the Maine community!

I went to ite with a problem with my computer. The gentleman that helped me by walking me through the problem right then and there and explained how to avoid this issue again. When I asked how much the charge was, I kindly said that I could donate to any of the causes they were supporting for as much or as little as I'd like. It was so nice to know that they are servicing the public just to benefit others that they are sponsoring.

We support this cause by purchasing equipment for our business from them. The equipment is first rate, the prices are awesome, and knowing that part of what we pay goes towards helping others makes the deal just that much sweeter

The folks at ITE are totally dedicated to their mission and clients. They truly want to help people get access to technology and the knowledge to use them. Just to quantify my support for this organization, for the first 2 years of my retirement I have worked with the ITE team in Belfast 3 days a week on process improvemen and education programs. I live 120 miles away and stay 2 nights a week in a hotel. I would have not invested that much of my time if the team and mission was not dedicated to helping people.

i am a single dad and i am self employed. i needed a computer but didnt have any money to buy one. pcs for maine raised people to sponsor me and was able to help me pay for my computer. i needed this computer to help run my business. thank you pcs for maine.

I owned an older ibook laptop that i no longer used. I brought it to ITE to see how I could recycle it responsibly. They pointed out to me that I could donate my computer to a family in need that they were sponsoring. I was so happy that I could take something I no longer needed and donate it to people that could actually use it. ITE kindly wrote me a letter after the transaction was done and told me more about the family that I was able to help. It was so nice to know exactly who my computer was going to and made me feel like I was able to make a difference. I love what ITE is doing to connect the community with each other.

We needed a computer to help with the quickbooks and other operations of our nonprofit. PCs for Maine was able to help us raise enough money so that we could afford a new computer. Without them, I wouldn't have been able to type this review! (our old keyboard was terrible!!) Thank You!!

Not only would my last semester have been incredibly difficult without my own computer, but I would have been unable to do any of the work required at my internship. I am very humbled by the generosity of my friends, family and Information Technology Exchange and I am so grateful for my new laptop and what has so far been a great semester.

My son was off to college and needed a laptop. PC's for Maine saved our family $1050 by getting us a refurbished laptop instead of buying brand new. It works perfect, and he loves it. They also gave him Microsoft Office Suite and Antivirus protection at no extra cost. Oh, and did I mention support and warranty. Love them!
