Our mother spent her last few days with Caring House. The physical care she received was outstanding. It gave us such comfort to know she was in such loving and caring hands. The staff was also of great emotional support to us, her daughters. I cannot say enough about the excellent staff and volunteers at the Caring House. I feel forever in their debt.

Bad at posting information and dates online. Won't give proper refunds as promised. Take forever with communication. I signed up in January with soccer. Was told I would lose $5 refund. I didn't get to go to ANY games or practice because I was told the wrong game dates in the beginning and it didn't work out with work. Apparently games are Thursday nights? I was planning Saturday mornings! I didn't see any money till end of June and I only got half of my money because of Membership fees! I wasn't even a member because they told me I wasn't allowed to participate! This organization is very messed up. I was warned about this organization and will never come back again. Go somewhere else! There are others in the community that do sports that won't rip you off and treat you like trash like these guys. My kids were heartbroken as they wait for this and we couldn't do anything else as we had no money as we waited for a refund that didn't return. Now we have to save for next year during this hard economic time.

The Board members are very dedicated and passionate about TOCA. As volunteers, they work closely with staff to bring wonderful shows to the South Bay. If you have not had the pleasure of attending one of the many performances offered, you are missing a real gem. The theatres are small and intimate and so close to home! We hope to see you soon.

Next Step Recycling is awesome. It is lead by an outstanding leader, Lorraine Kerwood, who easily leads members of the Eugene Community to assist her in the recycling of electronic hand-me-downs. She was even recognized by Volvo for her Outstanding contributions to the environment. She has been recognized as a Master Recycler and has, among other awards, received a yearly Lane County Trash Buster Award. Her 25,000+ sq. ft. of warehouse space has kept a lot of electronic equipment out of the local landfills, much of it being rebuilt for schools in South America. Her organization also participates in the training of students who are mentally challenged. We need many more organizations like hers in our community.

I have volunteered with the South Bay Literacy Council since the year 2000. <br>It's hard to believe it has been that long. <br>What keeps me motivated? <br>--The good work I see. <br>--The testimonies I hear. <br>--The friendships I've made.

This program that Coach Derek has created is awesome. I've seen it in action and would love to bring it into my school. As a teacher I have seen how sports can help a child stay connected to their school when they are struggling in the classroom. It's a program that I've supported and will continue supporting.

We had a very bad experience with this organization. Be careful that they just want money because you have to pay an amount of money before class starts, and no refund!!! No exchange the class even my child is very sad and no fun at all!!!

Las Candalistas highly recommends this nonprofit for the excellence of their work, but also because of the"hearts they share" as they work with their children enrolled in the programs. Parents can trust the sincerity, knowledge, and outcome of each days work that is devoted to the children. Progress is at an individual pace because each child has his/her own learning style, behavioral style, and their own ability to establish accomplishment. Understanding the special needs of an individual takes time and also trial and error. All therapy is beneficial and will have lifelong benefit. PTN does not compare one child to another, but embraces and challenges the individual path of rehabilitation per individual. I believe that The Hush Foundation's mission statement says it all. The founder is very pleasant and has a heart for people. I have done volunteer work at different places, but I really enjoy volunteering at The Hush Foundation because they make volunteering fun and what a wonderful way to serve the community.<br>

After the Court found that the doctor's had provided undisputed and overwhelming evidence of eligibility over objections by the Regional Center, the Regional Center finally provided services. The Case Manager Sara was exceptional and worked very hard to provide services and answer questions. Since my last report, the Harbor Regional Center has been professional and helpful . The services provided to my niece are life-changing, giving her some independents and security as a developmentally disabled adult. Guardians of the disabled should be aware that on-going supervision is important to assure services are adequate. I have been treated professionally and with respect.

Here is my story. I am a disabled man who has been forced to retire early. I own my home(thanks to my parents leaving it to me when they passed)I live on very little money or should I say I struggle to live from month to month on very little money. My home is infested with rats,fleas and ants and I can not afford to have my home exterminated. I just don't know what to do any more. I don't want to lose my home it's all I have,nor do I want to get sick and die from the rats,fleas and ants and God knows what else. I'm asking for some kind of help from anyone who could lead me in the right direction or with any kind of information or suggestions. Friends of Madrona Marsh is a 501c3 non-profit, volunteer organization whose goal is preservation, restoration, community environmental education and appropriate use of the Madrona Marsh. They provide docent lead tours for students, young children and the community. What a fantastic organization! I have learned so much about vernal pools, what are marshes and what beautiful birds visit this wonderful natural space. They are always in need of volunteers, donations and community partners to keep this precious site available to our community members for years to come!

Monarch Resources Inc. in Torrance, CA was a non-profit org./ministry for 25 yrs. I am the founder and past president of this wonderful, voluntary homeowner's assn. located in the most western section of Torrance, California. It's mission is to provide a forum in which homeowners can become informed and, at times, active in the community. The fee is only $15.00/yr. which covers the cost of printing and mailing a compilation of the homeowner assn activities, as well as inform the residents of the actions taken by City Council and those matters the City Council are considering, or that may come up before the Council in future meetings. It provides speakers from Cal. Water, Exxon Mobil and other informative agencies at the homeowner assn. meetings.

A great place to volunteer your time in Torrance and Lomita - especially if you enjoy helping folks who sincerely appreciate our help. Our service helps them remain in their homes instead of an assisted living or nursing home. Gary Thompson

Crohns disease is debilitating and painful. My daughter had been diagnosed when she was 17 years old in her senior year of high school. She is now 22 years old. I remember her sharing with me at various times throughout the school year that she was not feeling well when I would wake her in the morning to get ready for school. Given our relationship was open and she could discuss practically anything with me, in my mind, I thought perhaps she was avoiding an encounter with a peer student and that she just did not want to go to school. Little did I know that was entirely not the case. During that time, as I look back on it now, it was rather heartless of me to consider that for one moment there may be truly something going on with her health. Being a single parent and trying to maintain a career, raise a child, and pay a mortgage, I did not have time to address any health concerns. Looking back to my teenage years, I know I pulled some of those tricks with my mom when I was my daughter's age. And yet, I knew she was different. When she came to me and shared that she was doubled over in pain and bleeding rectally, my first thought was to head to the nearest emergency room, and fast! I certainly tried to understand what she was verbally saying and to connect with that unfortunately, I did not get it. That next day, we went to her doctor who then referred her to a gastroenterologist. This is where we got our questions answered and that we needed to pursue agressive treatments. During her visit, a colonoscopy revealed that she had Crohns' disease. Wow, what the heck was that? The doctor recommended aggressive treatment to decrease the inflammation of her large intestines. Remicade infusions had been the answer. I would drive her to the hospital and sit with her during the infusions and once completed, she was completely wiped out. I remember seeing that same behavior when my brother would go have his radiation therapy for lymphoma. He died at 26. Now this had quickly gotten my attention! Moving forward, she seemed to improve. The cost is extremely high where infusions administered by a hospital would range in cost, and hers was alarmingly $20,000.00 per infusion! The steroids followed. We later found that there are specialized clinics that are available in our area and the cost was significantly less to the tune of $4000-$5000 per infusion. Soon, bankruptcy was my only way out and losing my home. The economy was bleak and I was laid off from my mortgage underwriting job a few times over a 3 year period for 9 months each as my job is tied to the housing market and overall economy. It is difficult to see a teenager go through these kind of health issues and in her senior year of high school. She just graduated from Sonoma State University pursuing her teaching credentials. She is overly concerned of how this is or may affect her when she is in the middle of class teaching 7th & 8th grade students. Because there is no known cure, and the medicine used to relieve her symptoms cause other health issues, the last resort known is to remove the diseased intestine and if that does not work, a colostomy bag. Not glamourous at all! I am truly concerned with this disease as it is growing in numbers affecting all ethnicities. I cannot rate this site however, I can share with you what my daughter has experienced over the last 5 years. I hope for a cure one day soon. I support this with all my heart and soul.....a cure would be amazing!

This organization help senior with Healthcare Insurance problems they may have. They also help seniors to understand how there policy works as wells as assisting with obtaining healthcare. <br> <br>They are great

I am so honored to work along side all the volunteers with PTAA. Our goal, mission and mantra is to "Raise the bar and educate the passion of our youth" We all have busy lives, but the reward in watching the youth in our communities grow in becoming great leaders is priceless.
