Great services provided by a fantastic team of staff and volunteers, in a highly supportive atmosphere. I have volunteered with this organization off and on over many years. T
I've been donating food and clothes to Shepherd's Table since 1997 and volunteering here since 2009. This is a one stop shop for many of the patrons. The daily meals, clothes, eye clinic, library, medical assistance, counseling, mail box for veterans and others without homes and the list goes one. I was inspired by the Late Thierry Musel (Food Services Manager) who didn't take a day off from coming here and preparing a meal. He said, "Hunger never takes a holiday." Like Thierry, most people that work and volunteer here are selfless and believe in the greater good.
When I moved to Silver Spring in 2001, I was looking for a place that provided food security and clothing to those most in need in my new community. What I discovered was a place that provides even more - Shepherd's Table serves its dinner guests and clients with dignity, compassion and dependability. Shepherd's Table will lunch a weekend brunch service on December 16, 2012, marking the countdown to the 30th anniversary.

When I moved to Silver Spring in 2000, I sought out a place that helped people needing a hand out and a hand up. Shepherd's Table, now for more than 27 years has been fulfilling that need - providing a delicious and healthy meal every single day, clothing closet, referrals to shelters and social services, a shower, eye clinic, Rx referral and all with dignity.
Hello, Thank you for serving a good tasting, healthy evening meal that I can look forward to in these difficult financial times. It provides hope and fellowship, and the Resource Center is staffed with caring people! My husband and I truly Thank You.
Shepherd's Table has an amazing history that continues to this day. For 27 years, it has been serving a daily hot dinner: 365 days a year, through snow and power outages, never missing a single night. In addition, there is a free clothes closet; a resource desk providing medical and counseling support, including a bilingual counselor; and an eye clinic. The head of the resource room has been dedicating his life to the job for 20 years. All of the staff, along with a large core of volunteers, are committed to the mission of Shepherd's Table, ensuring that clients are treated respectfully as they are assisted with their needs.
