I have been volunteering at SAMM for three years and it is just a wonderful blessing to be involved with an agency that has such a profound impact on so many families and their children. This ministry really works to empower families that are experiencing homelessness to become fully self sufficient and meet their dreams.
At SAMM, they support families who happen to be going through homelessness, homelessness is not a label or a condition here, it is a situation that many families may experience, but with the right support and encouragement will never experience again.
I hope others can come join us in this life saving ministry.
I have first-hand experience with SAMMinistries as well as other non profits in San Antonio and other cities. It is a wonderful organization. They do what they say they do for their clients and the staff really cares about the clients. They are true to their mission. There are so many volunteers who care for the people that need the services at SAMM. People have really big hearts and give their time freely as I have and as have my family. There are no perfect people or organizations but SAMMinistries does everything they can to help those in need.
Working with other volunteers, staff members, and especially clients of the services provided by SAMMinistries has been such an incredibly rewarding experience. I have been involved with several non-profit organizations in San Antonio over the last 25 years and the difference that SAMM makes to the community is so impactful and appreciated by those who are able to use their services. I've heard many first hand testimonies from those who have been clients of SAMM and then successfully transitioned back into independent living, each one being so heartfelt and moving. Being part of a faith based organization that treats people with dignity and respect while helping them has been such a rewarding experience.
They have let go of 35 employees due to "budget cuts" The VP harasses employees, makes unprofessional remarks, and she misuses grant money. She is not qualified to be a VP with a bachelor's degree. The "HR" team is bias and protects the development team when complaints are made. Several employees have been wrongfully terminated. The VP also uses intimidation tactics on clients that live at TLLC. She is an extreme control freak and micro manages every moment possible. She belittles clients and only cares about numbers. VP and Director report false information for CMR and grant reporting. The Director is also an ignorant being. The agency overall does not care about their employees and continues to not treat them with integrity.
