We showed up unannounced at the door Friday afternoon out of curiosity, and were given a full-on tour of the place. What an amazing program. The enthusiasm of our 'tour guide' was contagious. By the time I left, I wanted to work there, or start my own center. They were lucky enough to have big money backing them, but none-the-less big money WELL-spent compared to where most goes. Thank you Poe Center for getting kids (including older 'kids') on a healthy track.

I am a teacher whose third grade class came to the center on a field trip. The professionalism and and enthusiasim of the employees at the Poe Health center is unparelleled. They do a fantastic job of engaging students and tailoring their programs to meet specific classroom needs. We are lucky to have this in our community!

This is a great facility staffed with engaging educators. My son's third grade class had a great time in their sessions - Bones & Joints, The Brain, and Healthy Foods. The subject matter was covered in their classroom and reinforced with this field trip. I hope every child in Wake County has an opportunity to explore the Poe center - interactive learning in a fun environment.

Signal Design has had the great privilege of working with the Poe Center and its staff for a number of years in a marketing capacity. The more we learn about their work and the commitment to education and passion for children, the more impressed we are. The facility is top notch, the staff is amazing, and the programs can be life changing.

The Parent Resource Center at Wilson Families in Action contracted The Poe Center to offer 2 presentations at a recent community-wide event that we sponsored. The adult program, "Drugs Uncovered: What Parents Need to Know" offered an excellent opportunity for parents to be educated on what their kids face each and every day. This program included a "mock bedroom" which our participants stated was "eye-opening" and "very educational". The Center also presented "For the Health of It" for our middle-schoolers who attended the event. The kids learned about how drugs and alcohol effects a young person's body and brain. The presenters were wonderful and did a great job! Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Poe Center's offerings. NC is fortunate to have The Poe Center and it's offerings!

The Poe Center for Health Education is one of the premier nonprofits in Raleigh. For 20 years, the Poe Center has been providing education for kids and families on topics such as nutrition, dental health, drug and alchol abuse, and tobacco dangers. In the near future Poe will be launching programming on bullying. I'm proud to be a board member at the Poe Center!

I am really impressed by the quality of the Poe Center's outreach efforts. After years of hearing what a great job they have done bringing their "edutainment" modules to summer campters, I finally had a chance to see them in action myself. I participated in a "Drugs Uncovered" training that they provided at the Wake County Commons Building. I knew that I had signed up for a parent workshop on what to look for to know if your teen is doing drugs, and expected a 2-hour lecture. Instead, I walked into a huge training room where a real-size replica of a teen's room had been created. The knowledgeable and engaging health educator spent the next few hours pointing out how seemingly innocent items in the room could indicate drug use. (Who knew that 420 is significant?! If you're a parent and you don't know, you need to go to the next presentation!)

My children have all benefitted from programming at the Poe Health Center. Without a doubt, the field trip to the Poe Center is always anticipated and results in lots of suggestions for mom and dad! I highly recommend the Poe Center for school groups, clubs, or just a family affair.
