As the founder of The Fashionable Stylista, I was honored to collaborate with the Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council for the Dust to Dust screening and our accompanying Upcycled Fashion Show. The event was beautifully curated, seamlessly organized, and carried a powerful message about sustainability and creativity in both film and fashion.
The GPJAC team was incredibly supportive, professional, and enthusiastic about highlighting young talent and engaging the community through the arts. Their commitment to fostering meaningful programming and showcasing important cultural conversations is inspiring and essential.
Organizations like GPJAC make a real impact by creating space for artistic expression and education. I hope their work continues to be recognized and supported for many years to come.

My favorite part of this nonprofit is that they reach people to talk about important topics and educate through a truly accessible experience...watching a movie. When we started our conversation after the film, no one thought they were caregivers. Afterwards, people were talking about their caregiving experiences and recognizing the value of their role and the way it impacts them. And that opens people up to getting support and to improve care.
I had a fantastic experience screening my film Facing the Wind at the Port Jefferson Documentary Series in Spring 2025. Programmer Kelly Devine was warm and welcoming. She made coming to Port Jefferson from Brooklyn easy and fun, and programmed a brilliant local expert to run an after-screening discussion and Q&A. The church the festival uses is a uniquely beautiful space to show one's film, and the audience was large and deeply engaged. I learned many are regulars to this incredible documentary series. It was just a fantastic experience, beginning to end.
As the international distributor for the documentary film DUST TO DUST, working with the Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council has been a fantastic experience. We were impressed by their thoughtful curation and community outreach, which ensured the film received the attention and appreciation it deserves. They brought their audience additional engagement by providing resources on recycling and an 'upcycled fashion' show to follow the screening - such a brilliant idea to get young people involved in the topic of the film which really sets this event apart from a regular screening.
We look forward to future collaborations with such a dedicated and inspiring partner!

I had the honor of screening my documentary Man From Pretentia at the Port Jefferson Documentary Series in Spring 2025. Programmer Kelly Devine and the amazing volunteers made me feel so welcomed, creating posters and flyers to help promote the event. The audience was engaged and eager to connect during the post-screening panel. I'm sincerely grateful to this series for supporting independent filmmakers and creating such a passionate, respectful space for documentary.
The Port Jeff Arts council is amazing, all the work they do to put together multiple festivals throughout the year and bring fun and entertainment to the community makes Port Jeff a real gem!
The Port Jefferson Arts Council screened a documentary film of ours comprised of several themes relevant to the Port Jefferson Community. The screening was heavily promoted, very well attended, and the discussion afterwards was robust. The Arts Council's programming is sensitive, educational, and entertaining. They also treat their visiting artists like gold!
As a life long fan of Port Jefferson and a lover of all things artistic the Port Jeff Arts council is one of the best! Throughout the year they are dedicated to bringing life and culture to our community through festivals and musical events and they give us our own small taste of a Hallmark movie life - Can't wait to see what is in store for the coming season!
I had a great experience with the Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council when screening with their film series. The turnout was fantastic, and the organizers assembled a phenomenal post-screening panel that included myself, a leader of a civic engagement organization, and a PhD Professor of Political Science. The audience was engaged and participated in robust dialogue. I look forward to working with the GPJ Arts Council in the future!
I had the pleasure of showing my most recent documentary, Checkpoint Zoo in partnership with Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council. A huge thank you to Kelly DeVine for inviting me and the film -- It was a great experience and a great Q&A with the local Port Jefferson community. Please keep these events going, they are a great way for artists like myself to engage on important topics with the community.
This group does an amazing job on every event they do. From music (ranging from classical, jazz, blues and comtemporary)to art shows, film series and festivals, this group of hard working volunteers go above and beyond. Coming from diverse backgrounds as a team.
The Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council hosted a wonderful screening of our film, Join or Die, as part of the Port Jefferson Doc Series, brining together a wonderful group of community members and civic leaders for an evening of film and conversation! Honored to be a part of their events programming.
This amazing group which ibhave been involved with since 2007 has not only survived many obstacles but also thrived. The pandemic didnt slow us down but showed us how we can even grow and expand. We have something for everyone from young children doing the Dickens festival to older citizens enjoying our many film and concert series. Some say we are the best kept secret on Long Island but hacve 2 parts that hace won accolades.
The Port Jeff Arts Council plays a large part in making Port Jefferson a great place to live.
I especially enjoy the annual DIckens Festival, the Winter Tide concert series, and the Port Jefferson Documentary film series.
The Greater Port Jefferson Arts council is a wonderful community asset. If the only thing GPJAC produced was the annual DICKENS FESTIVAL, that would be phenomenal, but GPJAC does so much more including the Port Jefferson Documentary Series, WinterTide, Sunset Concerts, the Fiddle & Folk Festival, the PJ Sea Music Festival, the Cedar Beach Blues on the Harbor and so much more. Also, the GPJAC is an active community partner working with many other nonprofits and individuals. You can always turn to the GPJAC for greater programming and community spirit!
