We had a fundraiser for Barka at our Middle School years ago. Kids now graduating from college still tell me how the day of learning about a far away place in need... and them being able to help the people there... changed their lives and open their eyes to how very big the world is and how fortunate they are. I continue to support Barka and their vision. It is pure goodness.

All living things need water. The Barka Foundation helps bring this basic need to villagers in Burkina Faso. Too many people in this world lack access to potable water and the Barka Foundation is creating awareness, providing understanding and inspiring action.

The Marblehead Interact Club is a junior rotary club. They have been working for The Barka Foundation for four years. On Sunday, October 28, the club will sponsor a Peace, Water, Wisdom Race/Walk around Marblehead Neck (5K) from 9 a.m. to 1:30 pm. The event is a fundraiser for The BARKA Foundation which works with local communities in the US to raise water consciousness and implement water initiatives in Burkina Faso, Africa, one of the poorest and most water-stressed nations in the world. We have support from Endicott students with marketing, outreach and publicity. The event is also being coordinated with the Student Environmental Action Committee of John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine which established hte PWW Race/Walk last year. Ina and Esu Anahata, BARKA's co-founders are an inspiration to our young people. Join The BARKA Foundation....is is a life changing experience.

I have just begun a conversation with the Barka Foundation about how I might contribute to their efforts to educate children in our local communities about the quest for clean water in the third world while raising money for water projects in Burkina Faso. Ina and Esu, the co-founders have been very responsive. The Barka Foundation's focus on education both locally and globally is unique and welcome!

Two years ago, Ina and Esu became our friends at Marblehead High School, Marblehead, MA. They have become near and dear to us as they have taught much about about the culture and people of Burkina Faso and the Barka Foundation. The Interact Club members and other MHS students will participate this spring in a four mile Walk for Clean Water around Marblehead Neck. We hope to involve the whole town and raise money from sponsorships.

We donated money to Barka for the NY marathon. My sister was running with 3 others for Barka. I really liked this experience. We came to NY and followed them along the marathon. Barka people were very supportive along the process.

BARKA is taking action to make a difference in the world, and it is near impossible to not desire to help them help others. So, I engaged my students in projects to create awareness and inspire action, while raising funds to donate to the cause of safe drinking water for those who need it in Burkina Faso. BARKA is working to provide a model which can be followed by others as it tries to bring the basic need of potable water to others.

Barka Foundation and its Co Founders, Ina and Esu Anahata is an example of an organization that is tireless in its efforts to alleviate suffering in the poorest country on the African sub continent - Burkina Faso. Focusing on one of the most basic issues of providing clean water to communities in this land locked, impoverished region is one of Barka's singular missions - and they have launched an innovative way to build awareness to this issue through their Peace, Water, Wisdom global campaign. Whether it is through their Walk for Water Campaign, their U.S. Schools Awareness Programs, or their on the ground work in Burkina Faso, one is struck by the tireless determination of this organization to create a sustainable model for the economic, spiritual and social well being of people in the region.

In broad terms I became interested in the work of BARKA as BARKA truly is focused on Indigenous technologies and a holistic approach to development. What has truly inspired me is the true commitment and energy the coufounders dedicae to the population of Tantiaka and to working hand in hand with that population to achieve water and sanitation goals; but also to share the experiences in Burkina with American children and likewise to bring the experiences of American children to children in Burkina Faso.

I first heard of BARKA on NPR and was immediately attracted to their mission. My sister ran the NYC marathon to raise money for the Foundation and my whole family embarked in an amazing journey that brought us all closer. This is my first experience as a volunteer and I could not have picked a better organization, the founders are so dedicated and so down to earth. See their video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gKbQHCXdW8 and you will get chills from it.

Barka Foundation has been a continuous source of inspiration and an outstanding example of dedication to service and sustainable approaches to indigenous communities development. Barka has worked on providing clean water to Burkina Faso indigenous people, teaching them about hygiene, healthcare and human rights.

I had a wonderful experience with Ina and Esu when they did their Walk for Water from New York City to Bangor, Maine. A friend and I walked out to meet them when they arrived in Bangor and we all marched through the city to a wonderful reception held in their honor. There they received a large gift from a Vietnamese spiritual donor. The ritual and program that evening were truly inspiring and everyone's hearts were lifted in hope for the people of Burkina Faso. Ina and Esu's dedication to the people of this small country is truly amazing. I wish them all the best and hope that their dreams for these people can one day be realized. They are truly angels who walk the earth.

Barka is one of the most hopeful pro-people organizations working in Africa I know. Their goals are big and can be realized. It helps people in America see all the ways they can help communities small and large in Burkina and beyond.

I am the Science Advisor and board member of the Barka Foundation. As a scientist, business owner and private consultant, my time is very limited and valuable. I chose to be involved with the Barka Foundation, because I sincerely believe that it can make a practical and positive impact on the lives of the people of Burkin Faso. Unlike other charities, that use a broad brush stroke with their efforts, focusing most their time and effort in fund raising and little on the people they profess to help, the Barka Foundation has a very specific and cost effective set of goals designed to help the people of BF. The Founders Ina and Isu are as dedicated a couple as I have ever encountered, sacrificing their entire lives to their cause and I applaud their efforts.

It has been a pleasure to support the efforts of Ina and Esu Anahata and the BARKA Foundation for the past two years. While my personal funds are limited, I was the first donor ever to make an ongoing commitment to a monthly donation to the BARKA Foundation. Ina and Esu's efforts on behalf of and in concert with the efforts of the generous and hopeful people of Burkina Faso have brought hope to many people in great need and the projects executed so far have made a visible impact in areas of clean water and micro lending through which some communities have increased their spiritual and economic well being. I hope that the BARKA Foundation will receive support through this effort and I am more than honored to write a review.

Since October of last year, I have been volunteering with BARKA and learning all that I can about the issues that need to be solved in order to achieve the UN's Millennium Development Goals in Burkina Faso. BARKA is deeply committed to helping the people in Burkina. The immense passion of BARKA's founders and volunteers is inspiring and motivating.

I have been volunteering with Barka for several years as a Board member, trying to assist with planning and fundraising. Esu and Ina have endless amounts of enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for improving conditions in Burkina Faso. They have approached countless foundations and individuals for funding. In order to fully implement their plan for drilling wells and improving sanitation, they need more donors.

The BARKA Foundation is fully committed to help the people of Burkina Faso, starting with the basic needs that us, as Americans take for granted. Clean water and sanitation education are simple needs that are not met in many parts of Burkina Faso and the BARKA Foundation has a strategic plan set to provide these needs to protect people in Burkina Faso from getting diseases. There is much much more that BARKA will be providing in Burkina Faso and most information about BARKA can be found on their website or on facebook.

I have been volunteering for the BARKA Foundation for over six months. I found the BARKA Foundation on Idealist.com. They were looking for a graphic designer and I was looking for an organization that would allow me to use my skills for a greater cause. We communicate mostly via email and even though I have never met Ina and Esu, their passion for this cause is communicated in every aspect of their work. They are motivated beyond belief and it shows in the quality of work they produce as well in the faces of people in Burkina Faso (they have pictures to prove the happiness that surrounds them in Burkina).

Thank you BARKA Foundation!
