Review for Barka Foundation Inc, Pittsfield, MA, USA
I have been volunteering with Barka for several years as a Board member, trying to assist with planning and fundraising. Esu and Ina have endless amounts of enthusiasm, commitment, and passion for improving conditions in Burkina Faso. They have approached countless foundations and individuals for funding. In order to fully implement their plan for drilling wells and improving sanitation, they need more donors.

One of the most powerful experiences I have had volunteering with Barka was during their 500 mile Walk for Water from New York City to Maine, to raise awareness and funds. This concept can be replicated in communities all across America, and in the process educate our kids about the issues. And guess what? The kids get it immediately. They understand the need to help the people of Burkina Faso. And they can do it with a little assistance from all of us.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Create an office in Burkina Faso and hire 2 full-time staff members to help get the projects going.
