Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: The mission of the Counseling & Development Center, Inc. dba Red Apple Center is to provide employment and continuing education services for adults with disabilities based on individual person-centered plans.
Target demographics: Adults with Disabilities
Geographic areas served: Price County, Wisconsin and the surrounding region
Programs: Community Employment - we partner with businesses in Price County. Clients work in municipal buildings, daycares, storefronts and more. Center Based Employment - We subcontract work for private industry such as assembly, packaging, quality inspection and shredding. This work occurs onsite at the Red Apple Center. Day Programs - offer everything from art, fitness, basic life skills and community outings. Transportation - We limit barriers to work by providing transportation for all clients from their homes to their work sites. Residential Support - We support our clients in their daily living skills as needed. This program provides individualized training for independent living. Transitioning Students - During the summer we support adult services for students who still qualify for public school services. We provide additional support to recent graduates who are entering the workforce. Independent Living Skills - Our clients learn and practice many basic skills like cooking, laundry and cleaning. We also provide opportunities to use public transportation. Recreational Activities - We take time for recreational activities like using the local pool, bowling and other fun activities.
