When you walk in the door at the Pensacola Humane Society, you are greeted by a friendly staff in a happy environment. It's clear that the mission to operate as a no-kill shelter and to put the animals first is top priority. The processes for fosters and adoptions are streamlined from beginning to end, making it as seamless as possible. And they are there for you to answer any questions you may have before, during, and after taking a new friend into your home. A+
I adopted my newest rescue, Arni, from this nonprofit and was very impressed with the are, attention and devotion shown to the rescue animals in this organizations care. My new rescue had excellent medical records, I was also provided a sample of his speciality food until I could pick some up the next day. Arni came home with the medications he was prescribed for anxiety, extra food and great details on his particular habits and behaviors. Absolutely amazing company!
I first encountered Pensacola Humane Society after my husband passed away and I was looking to donate money to build a dog park onsite. I was so impressed by the staff's level of dedication to the animals, the cleanliness of the center and the many programs that they provide for the community. Because of my initial encounter I began to volunteer with their events, helping to put on the yearly Barktoberfest for the community. Last year I joined the board and believe wholeheartedly in their mission and the good they do day in day out for the animals and the community. Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful organization
I have never been treated so nicely by anyone. Every person I dealt with was very polite and respectful and professional. They made the whole experience a lot easier for me and I love my puppies Hamilton ( Butch) and Sweeney Toad (Charlie). They are becoming some much a part of my family. I would suggest anyone looking to adopt should definitely check out the Pensacola Humane Society. What a great resource for people and pets.
I have been a volunteer with the Pensacola Humane Society for the last 18 years. Over the time I have been there, I have found that they have a dedicated staff that is compassionate and truly cares about every animal they have in their care. They are truly there for the animals and will do whatever it takes to help an animal in need. Volunteering there is the best part of my week!
As a longtime board member, I have seen Pensacola Humane Society grow into an important asset and valuable resource in our community. With an engaged board, well-trained staff and volunteers, and visionary leadership, PHS has emerged as the premier animal rescue in Northwest Florida.
The Pensacola Humane Society is a wonderful organization. The employees and volunteers work so hard to help animals in need. They save so many lives. They also work to help get animals spayed and neutered to bring down the homeless animal population in Escambia County.
Volunteering at the Pensacola Humane Society for 8 years, this place is my home away from home. My role is to take care of our cats and kittens 3 times a week, while also training new volunteers and taking care of our outside cat colony. I love volunteering alongside our other awesome volunteers and staff members. I've poured my heart into this organization for the last 8 years and I will continue to do so for as long as I possibly can.
I have volunteered at many places over the years. The Pensacola Humane Society is my favorite. Their commitment to animal welfare is unmatched. I have seen first hand examples of the staff and volunteers going above and beyond to help Pensacola’s animal community. The organization is very well run. The current board of directors, CEO and shelter management is an example of how a non-profit organization should be run.
