Our family is forever grateful for Giving Songs! We are a family of 5, and our middle son, Maxwell, has a genetic condition called FOXG1 syndrome which leaves him without the ability to walk, talk, self feed, and see properly. We needed a wheelchair van to safely transport Max now that he is getting older. Giving Songs made our dreams come true. Without this grant, it would take a years for us to be able to save enough to purchase the van that we needed so urgently. This is an incredible organization that made a huge, positive difference in our lives. Thank you Giving Songs! We appreciate everything you have done for our family!
GivingSongs has blessed our family with a wheelchair accessible van! Without their support we would have never been able to make it happen on our own. Jack and his family are changing so many lives one van at a time. We are so thankful to be able to be apart of it! Their music will continue to give our family so much joy! This has taken so much stress off of our family! Thank you Thank you Thank you GivingSongs!
Hi, I would like to thank giving songs for the generous gift they have provided for my family. No words can express the way I feel when I see the van we received from giving songs. I am able to take my son to his appointments without being worried thank you giving songs
My extended family and I are ardent supporters of Giving Songs. The assistance they have given to multiple families is truly life changing. My son, Brent Johnson, is the founder and President of the organization and I could not be more proud of the job he and his team are doing. Brent's work with Giving Songs was instrumental in him receiving the National Father's Day Council All Star Dad of the Year award for 2019. It was really wonderful to see him recognized for all the work he and the charity have done to help families with blind, severely disabled children. There are so many families out there in need of help and the people that are donating their time and money to Giving Songs are working hard to assist as many of them as possible. Please take the time to check out the website, GivingSongs.org and contribute to this worthy cause.
In 2010 my wife and I gave birth to a beautiful boy named Jack. We left the hospital thinking Jack was entirely healthy, although in the months to follow we learned he had challenges beyond our comprehension. Jack's initial symptoms included blindness, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and microcephaly. It goes without saying... our world changed. My wife Jaime and I were fortunate though - we had good careers, and amazing family, and friends all around... in time we adjusted to our new life and began meeting other parents with children like our boy. We noticed that not all families were fortunate enough to have the resources we have... and we wanted to make a difference in the lives of those families. Giving Songs was an idea that has grown into a hyper-efficient, effective organization that changes lives... families who feel isolated, families who are unable to acquire the tools and equipment they need, families who feel like they're all on their own. It is with tremendous gratitude that I thank you for reading this review - if you're researching our organization it means you've taken an interest in what we do, and for that I thank you. Your support will allow us to continue changing the world, one driveway at a time.
In 2015 our lives changed. Our sweet Addisyn (5) became the recipient of an MV1.
I cannot even express what a HUGE blessing Giving Songs has been to our family. They gave me freedom as a mom to be able to safely load my daughter in the van and take her somewhere without having someone else always to depend on.
This gave me a place to be able to change her diaper on the go when needed.
Giving Songs knew our need and went over and beyond to help us get a payment that was affordable.
A handicap van was a huge need and seemed like an impossible mountain to climb.......
We are so Thankful the God sent us Giving Songs . I no longer have the fear of dropping my child when trying to transport her.
Each day we count our blessings for each and every person that helped provide this wonderful grant!
Giving Songs Inc gives back to the community! I've seen the joy this organization brings to people, by putting local families and their children's needs first. :D
A passionate organization that helps connect funding to families in need in the most efficient and considerate ways possible.
What an amazing organization! Our family has not directly benefited from Giving Songs (yet), but we have seen how it has impacted the lives of so many. The founders of this charity are wonderful people and have the heart and desire to help the special needs community. The money raised is providing possibilities to families with visual blindness and multiple disabilities. Families that face so many challenges on a day to day basis are being provided the opportunity to get out into the community with ease. Giving Songs is giving hope, giving life and giving love ! Hopefully others will see the great benefit and find it in their heart to give back and help improve the quality of life for so many! I look forward to seeing the fruits of this organization for years to come!
I have been on the board of Giving Songs since it was founded and truly love supporting these families. Every board member is a non-paid volunteer who has a passion for helping other people. As a board I can say we strive to keep our expenses as low as possible and we focus on giving the money away to families who need our support.
What a terrific charity! I performed a song on their first album and then produced (and performed on) their 2018 Christmas Album. My band also performs at their annual parties. It’s amazing to see the impact they have on families who are struggling with disabled children. I’m so proud to be a part of that impact. It’s hard to think of a better charity out there!
I've been a volunteer artist for Giving Songs for 6 years now. I absolutely love working with this nonprofit! Performing at their benefits has always been a great time. The cause is a great one, one that I hold near and dear to my heart. :)
My daughter and I have been involved with Giving Songs for the past several years. This small, all-volunteer grassroots nonprofit was founded by a mom and dad after their son was born nine years ago with profound disabilities. Instead of being swallowed by their situation, they have chosen to help others walking in the same shoes. I have the utmost respect for Brent and Jaime and their mission.
What does the organization do? Giving Songs helps families with legally blind, multi-disabled children by providing vehicle grants for wheelchair-accessible vans.
How does it raise money? Working with 80+ local musicians and a professional recording studio in Plymouth, MI, Giving Songs has released three compilation CDs with a fourth in the works. In addition to the CDs being for sale at local events (they hold an annual fundraising event with lots of live music), all songs can be downloaded from their website (givingsongs.org). Donations may also be made on the website.
This is a great organization to consider working with - whether you are looking to donate money, volunteer your time or make an in-kind donation. If you're a professional musician, please consider donating your talents and recording a cover song for Giving Songs. I promise that your efforts will be greatly appreciated!
