Hello, I adopted two Salvation mustangs and their leadership is hard working, sensitive and caring.
The inspiration and Mission of Salvation Wild Mustang Sanctuary-SWMSC is to
save, care for, rehabilitate and rehome or provide sanctuary to formerly wild
equines saved directly from the auction and slaughter dealer networks.
As unprecedented numbers of our country's wild horses and burros have been rounded up and removed from their natural homes on public, state and tribal lands due to livestock grazing, mineral extraction and other multiple use purposes, the need for quality, specialized equine rescues like SWMSC has increased over the last few years.
Thousands of formerly wild equines have sold into auction and dealer networks. Once the animals are titled or legally sold by the goverment agencies that rounded them up, they have no federal protections. Like their domestic counterparts, they can legally be sold privately or at livestock auctions, which puts them at risk for neglectful situations or slaughter in Mexico and Canada at any point in their 25+ year lifespans.
Accomplishments of Salvation Wild Mustang Sanctuary-SWMSC: With the financial help of generous donors, SWMSC has saved or collaborated with others to save over 500 wild, unhandled or partially trained mustangs and several burros from auction and dealer networks for safe placement with other equine rescues, wild horse sanctuaries, private adoptive homes or foster homes that can acclimate some of them to domestic life in preparation for future adoption.
As an example, SWMSC and Oklahoma 501c3 equine rescue, RJF Equine have collaborated to save and care for several special needs mustangs, including a former starvation case named Beauty, as well as senior mustangs and several pregnant mustang mares in the past few years; a few of which have already foaled this spring.
Salvation mustangs have also been part of community outreach efforts in two twelve week "Mustang Challenge" programs during the summer months of 2022 and 2023, in which high-risk youth and young adults in the Cushing, Oklahoma area were each paired with a rescued mustang to work toward goal-oriented achievements under the expertise and mentorship of Jennie Rodden Sloan of 501c3 RJF Equine.
These partnerships not only resulted in ground handling training milestones for the rescued mustangs, but each horse and human team competed with obstacles and music at the end of the twelve week periods and received awards or recognition for their achievements.
These experiences resulted in successful mustang adoptions by some of the participants, while helping to prepare others for future adoptions. I look forward to following community outreach activities at their new location in Meeker, Oklahoma

This horse rescue does so much good for Mustangs, running a sanctuary for horses which once roamed free on BLM lands. These poor horses lost their home, rounded up, kept in filthy kill pens, hoping to be saved & not shipped to slaughter. And Salvation Wild Mustangs Sanctuary saved them and continues to care for them, day after day! Being a small rescue group, they need all the help they can get.

This is a small but mighty horse rescue which has a sanctuary in Oklahoma where they care for once wild BLM mustangs and burros. Dozens stay at the sanctuary and must receive daily care including hay, feed and water, like any animal. So they rely on donors like me to help with monthly costs. And I know every dollar I contribute goes to a great cause!

Salvation Wild Mustang Sanctuary is one of a few places that I feel secure in knowing my contributions are going towards the equines. That is huge when you are on a fixed income. I also love how they have mustang “classes” where the future generation is taught about and how to work with these American icons to help them learn to trust humans, if they were unfortunate enough to be captured and taken from their home. Some cannot accept captivity and live in a sanctuary setting. Their compassion, dedication, and perseverance for the mustangs and burros is the best. So grateful to have learned bout this rescue and the wonderful people that run it .

I cannot say enough good things about this "little" horse & burro rescue! They have tirelessly worked to save BLM mustangs and burros from the slaughter pipeline to Mexico. And they work to find them good homes. However when an adoption falls through, they always take back the horse or burro. No rescued animal left behind! Then they have also gathered a "herd" on their Oklahoma sanctuary. Most of those horses are too wild/feral and traumatized by BLM round ups to ever be adopted. So they care for dozens of horses/burros at there sanctuary, which requires monthly donations to provide hay, farrier care, vet care for the souls in their care. My hope is that anyone reading this would consider a donation to Salvation Wild Mustangs Sanctuary to support this great animal rescue organization!

They are doing the work that others refuse or never really try to do. They deserve all the support that can get.
These folks work tirelessly to save the wild horses that are rounded up and shipped to kill pens. They never stop posting on social media to garner support and donations to get them out of the pens and to one of their associated rescue orgs that take them in. They are number 1 in my book!
The US government takes away our native herds and sells them for slaughter. Unscrupulous people game the government for money to buy auction horses then sell them for slaughter. This charity wades into that horror to save them, and works to end it. I’ve seen the lives that my donations save & heal. Great communication with donors, great cause.
Salvation Wild Mustang Sanctuary is an amazingly worthy cause! Saving our wild horses and burro's from a horrific end. These once free beautiful animals were failed miserably by our very own government. Without this rescue group, many would have met a horrific end in a slaughterhouse. I am a proud supporter and donor. And can't think of a more worthy cause.
I’ve been following Sally and Salvation Wild Mustang for about 5 years. I’ve donated what I can for these once free Angels and I’m hoping it made a difference. Sally is tireless and her passion for these horses is irrefutable. This rescue does incredible work with limited donations and ALL donations go directly to the horses. LOVE THIS RESCUE!!!
I’ve been a donor to Salvation Wild Mustang Sanctuary for about 4 years. The tireless efforts by this charity to save as many wild horses as possible from a grotesque slaughter through donations from the public deserves full support. SWMC strives to save these majestic horses (and burros) from the US Govt extermination activities . Sally and her team put their hearts and souls in their mission to save America's Wild Mustangs that have been rounded up from their homes on public land by the Bureau of Land Management. They have saved over 400 Mustangs. Many of these horses end up at auctions or shipped to Mexico or Canada for slaughter. The round up and killing of America's wild horses is unconscionable. This group is their voice. the videos of the horses saved will bring tears to your eyes. Supporting this rescue will help save them all. Without this wonderful rescue/sanctuary many of our wild mustangs would have been slaughtered even if pregnant!!
Salvation Wild Mustang Sanctuary has gone over and above rescuing horses from BLM round-ups. They save them, get them vet care, find foster homes, or send them to their sanctuary. These horses would have been sent to slaughter if Salvation hadn't rescued them. Some are pregnant mares and some have little foals in tow. I am thankful for this charity and all they do for these horses who would surely meet death if they had not intervened.
