They coordinate with other agencies are a vital part of our local community. Every dollar is well spent. Kudos to the amazing team, volunteers, board members and donors for helping this noteworthy organization not only succeed, but thrive in Jackson County Oregon.
I am a fairly new United Way Campaign volunteer, and I am so amazed by all of the different ways that this nonprofit assists in the community. I have heard personal stories from different individuals in the community describing how United Way was there to help them in their most desperate and troubling of times. These stories range from the battles of addiction, finding housing, and meals being provided. I am amazed at all of the other nonprofits that United Way helps to support too. It has been a wonderfully emotional experience so far and I look forward to my future participation with United Way.

United Way of Jackson County makes a difference in our community! From helping individuals with specific needs to systemically looking at our transportation challenges, nothing is too big or small for this organization. I'm proud of my association with them, and even prouder of their life-changing work!
I have had the great pleasure of being involved with the United Way of Jackson County for nearly five years as a campaign volunteer and then as a board member. I am continually amazed by the dedication and professionalism of the entire organization, top to bottom, who are committed to being not just a participant--but a leader--in helping those most in need in our communities.
As a new member of our community, I have had the opportunity to work with The United Way of Jackson County. I have been involved with other UW organizations and Jackson County UW has far exceeded my experience in other locations. The community is in good hands for years to come!
United Way of Jackson County is a great financial steward of limited resources. The thought and deliberation that goes into how to best invest those limited resources in the community is reassuring.
The United Way of Jackson County, Oregon, is a phenomenal organization, and remarkably impactful in our community. They have been leaders in so many arenas, including raising awareness early on about Meth and also Suicide Prevention. Throughout COVID they stepped up immediately to help individuals and families, and in the same year responded in remarkable ways in the wake of a wildfire that destroyed over 2,600 residences. The accomplishments are numerous and lifesaving. We are so lucky to have this United Way in our region!
I have been a volunteer for 15 years or so and I love it! A well-run organization with amazing staff.

I have been a part of the United Way in some fashion for the last 15+ years. The impact that the united way has on our community is unmatched. The United Way does an amazing job of seeing the real needs in our community and finding ways to meet them. I've been a United Way volunteer since 1991 at 3 different locations - South Hampton Roads (Norfolk, VA), Cumberland County (Raleigh, NC), and here in Jackson County (Medford, OR) - including their Combined Federal Campaigns. The staff and volunteers here at UWJC don't just raise money for their partner charitable organizations, they raise the entire community thru their focus on education, health, transportation and family stability. Here in Jackson County we are truly United in Purpose!

I am a retired US Navy officer and since just before retirement I've been active in three United Ways (or CFCs run by the local United Way). On moving to Oregon 21 years ago I volunteered with the United Way of Jackson County (UWJC) and have been proud of every minute of those 21 years. The UWJC is more than the average United way that just runs a business and mail campaign to support local affiliated charities. The UWJC has stepped up in providing needed services brought on by COVID and a fire that burned up the housing of about 2,500 families. My contributions to the UWJC have given me and my community tremendous bang for the buck and I will continue to donate my time, treasure and talent.
As a board member, former campaign chair, and enthusiastic volunteer, I must say that our United Way is unique in its ability to nimbly navigate community issues, impact legislation, and enrich the lives of every citizen in our region. How grateful and privileged I am to be a part of such an effective, important, and treasured community resource.

In each role I have found a sense of purpose and joy, serving alongside the amazing staff and bank of volunteers that join to make our community a more caring, just, safe, and welcoming place.
Their suicide prevention efforts have gained national attention and made a huge difference, reducing the number of those attempting to end their lives and, instead, giving them hope and help.
United Way of Jackson County is rare in the quality of connections forged with local businesses, schools, social service organizations, law enforcement, and lawmakers. Barriers don’t exist when we join together to effect change! I’m proud to be a United Way volunteer!
As a board member, I've seen our local United Way navigate crisis such as the COVID pandemic, wildfires that destroyed local towns, opioid addiction, and mental health.
The organization has been a convener of community to tackle these difficult challenges as well as directed assistance to individuals across Jackson County.
The breadth and depth of success in meeting these needs has earned the trust of community leaders that now turn to this United Way for guidance and support.
First year volunteering with the United Way of Jackson County. The commitment that this organization has to the community is striking. I have heard stories of the impact that the organization is making straight from those who have been impacted by the work that the United Way is doing. The organization helps a wide variety of the community. It has been inspirational to hear how the programs the United Way supports impact people. I am grateful for the chance to be part of it and feel good about the connections made in supporting the work the United Way is doing.
I have been a United Way volunteer for many years and can not say enough about the wonderful ways that they help the local community.
United Way finds ways to assist our community members through meaningful and purposeful work and betters the lives of all those they assist.

The united Way is a true force for good that has changed my life not only as a volunteer but as a recipient. I know I would not be where I am today if it was not for all they do for Jackson County.
I am very appreciative of the impact that United Way of Jackson County has had in our communities. This is a dedicated, caring, and devoted group of mighty individuals.
I have been fortunate to work with UW on their campaigns and Day of Caring for many years.
It amazes me to see the many partnerships they have built, and the great leadership they have been providing to our community, our non-profits, our volunteers and the recipient's.
Everyone wins!
Our United Way is a leader in our community, literally the heart of our community. When fires destroyed thousands of homes and businesses two years ago, United Way took the lead to help and to this day, continues to help families recover. We are so grateful to have such a well organized and supported organization here locally.
I have been involved with the United Way of Jackson County for 29 years in a variety of roles. I was first introduced to the organization when I was an executive director of one of the many partner agencies supported by United Way. I became involved in the annual fundraising Campaign for many years which led to other activities including participation in many Days of Caring, serving on the Finance and Volunteer Engagement Committees, and Chair of the annual fundraising Campaign; now retired, I serve on the Board of Directors. Through all of this, I have found the organization to be critically aware of diverse community needs and exceptionally responsive to them. This was thoroughly demonstrated when immediate action was needed due to the wildfires in the region in 2020. Although not all situations require such expediency, United Way has developed viable initiatives to address many troublesome issues facing the area. Key to the success of these initiatives are the established collaborations developed with local partners and the hundreds of engaged volunteers throughout the community. Led by an innovative and creative staff, this organization is a great example of Living United and all that can be accomplished through it. Although all of this sounds serious, as it is indeed serious work, there is a reason that volunteers become long-term and involve themselves in varied activities. Not only are they treated with respect, laughter and camaraderie easily find their way into meetings and friendships forged. Besides, where else can you go to see an Emmy on display for the good work done?
When I was growing up, my parents volunteered on numerous United Way projects in Coos County, Oregon. I grew up seeing their commitment to service, and desire to make a difference.
As an adult, I have been fortunate both to serve on the board of the United Way of Jackson County, and volunteer on and in support of several projects. One favorite has been the "Day of Caring." This annual event dispatches skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled volunteers to non-profit locations that need something done that will help them to help others. (The picture is of my wife and I at a Day of Caring several years ago.)
The most amazing aspect of the United Way of Jackson County is their ability to take on big projects, and partner with others to make things happen. The vision and commitment of the team at our United Way has led them to focus on really tough challenges that our community faces like suicide prevention, keeping grade schoolers on track all the way through high school graduation, addressing longer-term needs after 2020's devastating Almeda Fire, and so much more.
I was introduced to United Way in 2019 when I had the opportunity to volunteer for their 2019 fund raising campaign. I had no idea what a gift this was to me and how it would touch my life in such a positive way.
The United Way staff and volunteers are dedicated to all they serve and approach their goals with compassion and mindfulness of others. They do not see obstacles. They see ways to make a difference in our community, ways to touch as many lives as possible, and to LIVE UNITED in all they do.
I am honored to part of United Way and look forward to many more years of volunteerism.
I've been part of the United Way family since 2008 or so. I've had the honor of serving as a Loaned Executive, Campaign Leader, and Cabinet Member. I've also been on the Day of Caring committee. Over the years we've completed some crazy fun landscaping projects for other organizations like the Girl Scouts, Phoenix Counseling Center, the YMCA, Roots and Wings, and even the United Way office. I've made valuable community connections and numerous friends through the United Way of Jackson County. Their staff are dedicated, supportive, innovative, and compassionate. What a great nonprofit!
