This summer my family took our first trip with YARN. I was not enthused about going, my daughter wanted to go so I went to be with her. I had the best time and learned so much. I enjoyed the comradery with everyone involved even our bus driver. The trip was just to quick. I will probably be going again and will encourage others to join also.

YARN has provided educational tours for many years and introduced students and families from communities throughout the state of AR to professionals that have shared their careers snd motivated students to achieve their best. The Travel ‘N Learn Tours have open the doors to educational opportunities by visiting the US Capitol, colleges, various diverse museums and experiences to include a Civil Rights Tour in August this year. In addition YARN provided free books to early learners to help them get excited about reading! YARN is truly a Great Nonprofit!

YARN is a youth focused organization that has provided opportunities to students that I know would not have a chance or funds to travel and experience learning opportunities at places like Museums, colleges, meet high level officials, Doctors, Judge’s, Law Enforcement, Educators, and many other professionals. This organization is small with a huge community impact.

Youth Advocates & Resource Network, Inc. has done great work for the Mayflower community and surrounding areas. Although both of my sons are adults now, they participated in YARN for many years as kids and teenagers. The program provided them with positive and enriching activities and experiences. They were able to go on many trips and gain knowledge about their ancestry and history of the world that was very helpful to them in school and in life. The staff of YARN made sure the kids were well prepared for the trips and would provide them with resources to obtain prior knowledge about the places they visited so they could understand the true significance of the trips. The group provided my sons with positive and encouraging peer interactions. The standards of YARN were high and each participant was given the support and encouragement to meet and sometimes exceed those standards.
My family will forever be grateful for the meaningful experiences YARN provided us. I whole heartedly support YARN being recognized as a Top-Rated Nonprofit Organization. They are much deserving.

I have been involved with YARN, INC. under the leadership of Mrs. Berthenia Gill, Founder and CEO for over 10 years. As a clinical psychologist I am aware of the need of such a program in a rural part of Arkansas where resources are more limited. I have contributed as a presenter and financially. It has been so very rewarding to see the families and lives that are positively impacted by YARN, Inc. Through the leadership of Mrs. Gill and her Board, transformative changes are made in the lives of communities, families and individuals. I am very pleased to have this opportunity to share my personal involvement with YARN, Inc. and give support.

I would not be where I am in life if it wasn’t for the impact Y.A.R.N put on my life. Over the years, through various seminars and outings, I have learned so much about the world around me as well as myself. Y.A.R.N has also given me the opportunity to travel to Memphis, Atlanta, and Orlando. Every trip was amazing and unforgettable experiences. I was a 14 year old kid in High School not knowing much until Y.A.R.N stepped in. I am now a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and working in the District Court of Faulkner County. Berthenia Gill always encouraged me throughout my life to do more than expected, regardless of what anyone says. I love her dearly, and I would love to see Y.A.R.N continue to be a positive impact in the next generations to come!

I Had the opportunity to listening to Mrs. Gill talk about the wonderful Program they were doing in their community. Un be knowing to me at the time that several years later I would need her help.
My Grandson decided to attend college in Conway and began to make very bad choices.
I was four hours away attending a Prevention Conference and here he was calling from jail.
After much prayer and tears, Mrs. Gill’s presentation came to my heart” We are here during the good and bad times.” I called her, she never crossed words, never mentioned a fee, or that we weren’t a part of her program, instead she stopped what she was doing and went to check on him, encouraged and supported him . I will never forget her kindness, or how supportive she was during the whole process. Whatever awards or honors this program receives is small with regards to what this program is giving to our state
