Mission: New Louisiana Foundation is a 501c3 established for research and citizen education in an effort to make Louisiana’s government more community focused.
Its primary purpose is to train average citizens how to be effective volunteers inside their local government. We match identified, local community members with vacancies on local boards or commissions.
Once appointed, we ensure they have all of the tools necessary to be effective. These include providing enabling legislation, board bylaws, and standing rules. Additional training and mentorship is also made available on becoming an effective board member. These include identifying and ensuring focus on the board’s core purpose, effective oversight of the board-selected executive director, and more.
Results: Our volunteers make up majorities on various boards and commissions in Lafayette Parish. The library is working now to protect the innocence of children. Bayou Vermilion District has reigned in $1 million in deficit spending and refocused their efforts back on river operations and maintenance.

This group is one of the best kept “secrets” around!!! It is the “average Joe’s” place to go for the real “lowdown” on what is going on in our local and state governments! Their mission is not only to inform the citizenry but also to put forth ideas, plans and actions to “right the wrongs” that have been perpetrated against us by intrusive government agendas and policies! Great organization run by great individuals to insure that our governments are “transparent”!!!
I heard about the organization in 2019 and have followed them. I love the information the organization gives concerning our state. The investigative article’s exposure of the corruption is above and beyond. The grading on legislators was an excellent idea! Been a contributing donor for about a year now! Look forward to the growth of a better Louisiana with more informed citizens!!
I've been with this organization for almost a decade and it has been amazing to watch its growth and effectiveness in bringing absolute transparency to government at all levels in Louisiana. I could not be more proud to be a member!
