Nonprofit Overview

Causes: International, International Relief

Mission: Mothers are the leverage point: the ones who ensure children get food, education and clean water. In low-income, underdeveloped settings, newborns and young children without mothers perish in substantially greater numbers. That’s why Worldwide Healing Hands works to stop the needless deaths of mothers who are dying of preventable causes. We are dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare for women and children in the most underserved areas of the world.

Dr. Dhanda and her organization, Worldwide Healing Hands, are committed to helping the underserved. I volunteered with Worldwide Healing Hands for a the 2021 mission in Rwanda and 2022 mission to Cambodia. Both times I came home happy that my time had been well-spent and I felt appreciated for what I could do to help the mission.
Because I have seen first-hand how WHH contributes to advancements in women's healthcare in low-resource areas, I also became a donor.
If you are considering donating to or volunteering with Worldwide Healing Hand, know that your time and/or donation is valued and used to help people truly in need. You will not regret supporting this wonderful organization!

Worldwide Healing Hands is a fantastic organization that focuses on preventing mothers and babies from dying of preventable causes in developing communities. I joined WHH on their first medical mission to Rwanda in 2021, and then again on their medical mission to Cambodia in January 2022. There are many reasons most volunteers join the WHH team on more than one mission- the biggest being Dr. Paula, the founder of WHH. She is truly an inspirational leader who ALWAYS puts her patients first; she makes every volunteer want to do better and it is an absolute joy to work with her. Thank you to WHH and Dr. Paula for all that you do for women around the world!

Worldwide Healing Hands is an amazing nonprofit organization focused on improving the lives of women and children in low income areas of the world. Dr. Dhanda and her team give selflessly to train local doctors and nurses in these areas so they can further expand their help to the women and children of their own communities. When preparing for a mission, the team coordinates the donation of equipment and supplies to under-resourced hospitals and health centers.
Not only does Dr. Dhanda and her team work globally, but on a monthly basis they provide vaccinations and medical screenings for the homeless of Lake County.
The world needs more nonprofits like Worldwide Healing Hands.

The accomplishments made by Dr. Paula Dhanda and Worldwide Healing Hands over the years are truly inspiring, and the medical care they have provided, both to people in our local Lake County community and in developing nations like Uganda and Cambodia, has saved countless lives. As a former patient of Dr. Dhanda and a donor for Worldwide Healing Hands, I’m grateful to support an organization that works so hard to prevent maternal mortality and save women around the world.

As a donor and Worldwide Healing Hands (WHH) board member for the past 10 years, I have watched our nonprofit grow under the steady leadership of Dr. Paula Dhanda. Dr. Dhanda is passionate about saving mothers and children in underserved areas of the world and “walks her talk” in her dedication to improving healthcare globally. According to the World Health Organization, 99% of maternal deaths take place in developing nations, and 98% of these deaths are preventable with simple, inexpensive measures. For WHH's international missions, Dr. Dhanda and WHH's volunteer teams train local medical staff, donate thousands of dollars worth of medical supplies, perform vital surgeries and deliver babies in low-resource settings, all in an effort to create sustainable programs that reduce preventable maternal mortality. Additionally, Dr. Dhanda and Worldwide Healing Hands have partnered with local and international Rotary Clubs in their combined global effort to eradicate cervical cancer, a preventable disease that results in the deaths of 300,000 women annually.

When not traveling, Dr. Dhanda and Worldwide Healing Hands provide medical screening and vaccinations every month at the Elijah House homeless shelter in the underserved community of Lake County, California. Dr. Dhanda and WHH volunteers provide their services free of charge to those who cannot afford them. It has been my honor to contribute to an organization led by a person of such great talent and compassion.

"I want a job where I can love on people," I was telling Dr. Dhanda during a doctor appointment last year, "...especially people most in need."

"You should come join us at the Elijah House," she replied, "...the residents there could use your love and energy."

Since then, I have experienced and witnessed healing, hope and unconditional love in action through the network of volunteers at Worldwide Healing Hands (WWHH). I have watched our local homeless residents receive medical services from wound care to a referral for a healing surgery, to a life-saving ER visit, thanks to Dr. Dhanda and her skilled team of doctors. I've observed compassionate social workers connect residents to the practical resources they need, the medical insurance or mental health services they need, or to a primary care physician they've never had. I've been touched by the RNs and LVNs who greet and lovingly invite each resident to tell their story and share their need while checking their vitals.

And me? I get to welcome each resident who enters to the "intake" table. I get to treat them as a brother and sister as I get their name, age, DOB and general info. And in return, I've received their friendship, their gratitude, their love. From in-take...to out-pouring.

When Elijah House residents arrive for WWHH care, they leave with love, dignity and the healing they need, whether it's physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. I get to be a small part of a great non-profit that is making a difference locally and globally in the world.

Thank you Dr. Dhanda and WWHH.

Over the years Dr Dhanda and her volunteer team have directed their time and expertise to serve those in greatest need. They have made a significant impact on the local and global communities and trained others to continue their work long after their visits.

I've had the honor to work with the founder Dr. Paula Dhanda and many of her helpers. Over the years, WHH has effectively improved the lives of women and their families in underserved aread and has been integral in supporting the local community when they struggle with homelesness and health challenges. Dr. Dhanda's purpose is always to leave something behind where ever she serves so the help has a lasting effect. One neglected area in other countries is basic care for women to treat cervical cancer when resources are not available. She knows that when women die regardless of the reason, the entire family is affected and it has a ripple effect in weakening communities. She leads by example and is very beloved in her community.
