I support the education of a young student & I correspond with the student a couple times a year. I am a retired teacher and this is a rewarding endeavor for me.
We have been involved since its onset and sponsored many students at the school. John Mulindabigwi is truly a man of God and has done amazing things at the school. We have spent a lot of time with John and his passion and love for the students, teachers and the school is evident to everyone he meets and talks to.
This is an organization that has spent their money wisely and the progress they have made over the years is overwhelming.
We would recommend this mission and have reached out to our associates who have also been impressed. Charlie and Bette Varvaro
Members of my family and I have been involved with Partners in Mission (PIM) for over five years. We have participated in the Bike to the Lake event each year since it started. The ride from Glen Ellyn, IL to Lake Geneva, WI is a wonderful event that brings members of the host church (First Presbyterian Glen Ellyn), the Chicagoland community and family/friends together to raise funds for PIM. It's rewarding for all of us to participate in an active community building event that benefits students in Kamwenge, Uganda, by providing improved housing, educational facilities and hope for a brighter future.
I cannot believe where the work of Partners in Mission has gone since my first trip to Uganda in 2007. Today, more than 900 students are given a quality education, Christina love, and vocational skills to make village life better than what it haw been for generations. The best part of PIM's work is that it is both created and led by indigenous Ugandan leaders -- not Western world "do-gooders". I have fallen in love with their mission, their work, their children, their leaders ....... and I have been back nine more times as a result. I also have gone to Uganda with my family (even the little ones). You would be hard pressed to find a more responsible and thoughtful organization to invest in.
I serve on the PIM Development Committee and was able to participate in the Bike to the Lake event this past summer. I recently met John and have never been more excited to serve and help raise money for this impactful organization.
Reverend John through PIM has a wonderful positive influence in many ways throughout his region of Uganda. His vision for providing education and vocational training in a Christian environment is coming to pass and affecting many Students and their families.
I have been on the board of PIM for 7 years and have seen first hand what an incredible difference this ministry has made in the lives of hundreds if not thousands of young people in Uganda. Children who were once delegated to a sub par education now have the option of attending Kamwenge Secondary & Vocational School in Uganda. The goal is and has been to offer young people of the Kamwenge District (very poor district) a great education with a bright future in either one of the many vocations/ University so they might use their skills to advance the growth of the entire area for decades to come. After 12 years, the ministry has exceeded all expectations.

My first trip to Uganda to visit KSVS was last Mach 2018. It was a dream come true because I had a vision to serve years ago and did not quite know where to start. Barb .R made it easy by talking to me about going to Uganda. God answered my prayers. I was so excited to go to Uganda with her. I felt the need to reach out to the children in Africa. It was my way of giving back to Africa. Being from Africa myself , I was privileged to come to Amrica and I learned so much that I could use to impact others.
So I went to Uganda with a plan to teach and I was blown away by the investment done in KSVS. I was inspired by the initiative of Pastor John. M. As I always tell him , it takes a special person to create a vision, a future, and opportunities to a community like that.
From the first day at KSVS to the last day , we were surrounded by a lot of love, joy and gratefulness from the children and teachers. They were so full of energy. We had hugs everywhere we went. It was unbelievable to think how many miles some of those kids walk to come school, but they were very happy and eager to learn. Very impressive.
I spent some times with Girls and we were able to discuss some sensitive topics and they responded very well.
Being at KSVS and meeting the Girls gave me the opportunity to teach, to mentor ,and to impact. I felt a sense of fulfilment. I felt in love of my little Girl (my sponsor child) and knowing that I am part of life or reading her letters bring tears into my eyes all the time. God is faithful. My life and my story made sense . I understand why I had to work hard, why I had to fight, why I had to stay focus, why I had to get back up each time I felt. For sure God had a plan. He was preparing me for this journey and i am ready to walk through that part with him.
I was blessed with a great team and we had a lot of fun. We are going back next Febuary and I encourage others to come with us. That trip changed my life .
My first trip to Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational School (KSVS) was in 2015. It was life changing and I have returned there in 2017, 2018, 2019 and I am in the process of planning my 2020 trip. I am privileged to sponsor a young boy a the school. The growth in the school since it's opening in 2007 is nothing short of amazing. Rev John is a man of great faith and great vision. He along with the teachers, school staff, volunteers and all the donors have brought God's love to a place that was in great need of it. I am honored to be associated with Partners in Mission.

Partners in Mission US is a financial partner with Partners in Mission Uganda. We provide support for building and operating a Primary, Secondary and Voacational School to a rural emerging area of Uganda. With no paid staff in the US, over 90% of funds raised are sent to the school. Our campus has 900 students, 300 live on campus and over 100 staff. I have had the opportunity to travel and stay on our campus many times in the last 12 years. The campus, staff and students are truly amazing. We are moving people from homeless refugees to University degrees in a single generation.
It has been my privilege to volunteer with PIM for over ten years. I have seen it grow from a few small classrooms to the expansive campus it is today. When I first met children in the a rea they were downcast and had few smiles. Now children are bright, cheerful, and anxious to go to their classes-whether little ones in primary school, or older students in either the vocational training area or those seeking a high school diploma. The school offers curricula in many areas, including culinary arts, carpentry, agriculture, and pre-college prep. It is a shining light in the area.
We've been in Uganda with John and PIM since their earliest days. We've seen the hard work, the impossible dreams, and the amazing fulfillment. We love the work, and the teachers, and the students who have been blessed and whose futures now take an astonishing trajectory upwards, all while instilling values of love and compassion. It is a blessed success and worthy of support. It has also given us the opportunity to reach out to other schools and students in the area.
I have had the joy of participating in PIM's wonderfully organized Bike to the Lake each year, that does so much to raise critical funds for the school that is KSVS. I was also privileged to venture to Uganda in March of this year with a team to get a taste of this beautiful East African nation and to spend several days at KSVS. What a wonderful opportunity to be with our brothers and sisters, students, teachers and staff, and engage in relationship and service together. PIM is an effective and culturally sensitive organization compromised of deeply committed volunteers and board members with great integrity, an obvious mission, a clear heart for the family at KSVS, and a desire to honor Christ. (As a pastor and a person who worked as an Executive Director over two not for profits, I give a hearty thumbs up.)
We started supporting Partners in Mission over 5 years ago and every year I am more and more amazed with what they are doing to change not just lives, but a small region of Africa that has many poor families and refugees that are trying to get on their feet. The leader of Partners in Mission - Africa is one of the kindest, faithful and far-thinking people I have ever met. His love for the Kamwangee Region and for the children and families there is without limits. The Board members in the U.S. are equally dedicated. We have sponsored one girl who recently graduated from college as well as two other students at the school. My husband and I have both had the privilege of visiting the school and seeing the difference this organization is making firsthand as well as the chance to meet our sponsor children and their families. If you are looking for a Mission to donate to or get personally involved with, I highly recommend Partners in Mission.
Partners in Mission- USA is an incredible organization helping to train, educate job creators (vocational) and servant leaders of an entire nation of Uganda. Rev Canon John Mulindabigwi and his team have been incredibly involved in the Kamwenge community and the results are outstanding. We were overwhelmed with the progress of the Kamwenge campus in just a short time when we traveled there in March of this year. We were overjoyed by the contagious smile on the faces of children and parents of the graduating class. This year also marked their 10th anniversary. I can not wait to see the progress in the next 10 years!!!
Partners in Mission is an incredible organization with a beautiful vision and mission. It has been an honor to play a part in supporting a student at their school in Uganda as well as visit the campus and spend time with their staff and students. Thank you for all that you do!
PIM-AFRICA is an outstanding Christian based Ministry, reminding us each and every day that we are all God's children. We are proud to support an organization that keeps us up to date with Emails and literature. Sponsoring two girls in their journeys of education and Christian Faith has been extremely rewarding for us. So proud of those who travel so far to see the Kemwenge facility. Reverend John, his wife and staff are deeply involved and awesome role models.
I was privileged with partnering with this organization for a 6 week trip to Uganda last summer. Though I traveled by myself there this organization was so helpful with everything I would need to do to prepare for my trip.
I spent 6 weeks at Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational School (KSVS) teaching in the primary school that is on campus. It was so amazing to see the hope in the eyes of these students. Most of the families in the village of Kamwenge are stuck in a vicious "hut cycle". We visited a few of the families from the school and I noticed a trend. These families lived in a hut with 8-10 other people and there was always someone else in the hut who was pregnant. The kids would grow up in the hut get pregnant and add to the hut and enroll in this cycle. KSVS gives these children an opportunity to break out of this cycle, allows them to leave this village and get jobs in the city to help their families in the village. KSVS has given this community a hope.
While I was there KSVS held a conference at the school for the students and the community to come and fellowship together. This was a weekend long conference and the only way I could describe this event is by using the word POWERFUL!! To see a community in all different walks of life come together and worship a real God brought tears to my eyes. Partners in Mission and KSVS are bringing hope and faith to this community.
I am so blessed to be able to partner with this organization and continue to serve with them! God is going to use them to accomplish big things and I can't wait to see what becomes of this organization, the school, and this community.
God Bless!
In 2005, our Pastor asked if we could host a friend of his from Uganda - Rev. John Mulindabigwi. We are so thankful we could! His vision of a place to educate young people in vocational training struck a cord in our hearts - for with education, people can and do prosper. We signed on to help in many ways from the USA. Our two young sons prevented us from travelling to Uganda - but our church has sent many mission teams to the Western parts of Uganda to witness, to build, to teach. Our hope is to join those who have been there and teach as well! What a blessing to see the growth of the school and the corresponding village - Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational Institute - all stemming from the vision of Rev. John and his wife Jolly. To hear the testimony of the graduates, to see their lives changed, to learn of those who give their lives to Christ and become all they can be - what a blessing to be able to participate! And now, with this school, lives are growing and changing for the better! The school hires many local adults, creating job opportunities where few outside of farming existed before - the government is supportive in their expansion of electrical services towards the school - and the children come from miles and miles around. Thanks to a diverse educational mission, classes for both men and women are firmly in place and producing graduates who can go forth and start businesses or find a high-paying job. Many continue with their educations on a higher level. This is a success in action!
I have traveled to Uganda 6 times volunteering with another organization Juna Amagara. Each of these visits has resulted in being hosted in John M's home as I would engage in activity on Juna Amagara’s behalf. I have found John and his family to be loving, serving, gracious people. From these visits John and I have developed a relationship in which I consider John to be a friend. When I suggested to John to come to America to the Willow Creek Leadership conference, he did, which gave some wings to his organization. When I look to make a financial contribution to an organization I want to interact with one where I am assured of accountability, reliability of the organization and one where the cause is worthy. This organization is that. John is supported by an American board made up of God honoring, high integrity people.
Best Regards,
Joel Schauer
I traveled to Uganda in 2009 to work at their secondary and vocational school, KSVI. I currently sponsor a student as does my local Sunday School. I have also hosted the director, Rev. John Mulindabigwe, in my home. Pastor John is a visionary, who has worked unselfishly to bring education to a remote part of his country. His school continues to grow in numbers as well as the scope of services available to students and the local community. PIM provides an opportunity to move beyond their substance farming background, while providing grounding in the Christian faith. This work is overseen by a strong board of directors here in the U.S., several of whom I know personally.
In October, 2010, I travelled to Uganda to meet with the local board members, to see the facilities of KSVI the school supported by PIM, and to meet with Rev. John and the staff members of the school. I was truly and deeply impressed by all that has been accomplished by this group for the people of the Kamwenge area. I took away a sense that people are being invested in. They are receiving education, Christian community, life skills in goal setting and problem solving, and continuing support. The surrounding community benefits from this transformation, and hope and dreams for the future are within reach. I am so glad I have become acquainted with PIM. I am a believer in them and now, also, a proud supported or their work.
I am impressed with the high degree of communication that I have received from KSVI showing how my donation helps sustain the educational programs for the Ugandan students. It is very rewarding to learn about the progress of individual students at KSVI.
This is a great organization! They have a clear big picture, keeping the focus on Christ and His work in the world, but also offer real world, hands on, nuts and bolts opportunities. Partnering with a local Ugandan pastor, they are able to realistically work with and encourage Ugandan originated projects. The Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational Institute, which they started, offers hope and opportunity to returned refugees living in the Kamwenge district of southwestern Uganda. There are many physical needs in Uganda, but the people are spiritually rich and generous.
