The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism has allowed our organization to provide families with not only financial support in very difficult economic times but one step beyond that. We are able to provide our families with events that the entire family can attend. Dances, Pool Parties and Vacation Activities are the favorites. These events allow families to come together in a safe non-judgmental place where their kids can enjoy eachother and meet new friends. Parents can also find support and comfort through these events. We just could not do this without the incredible support of the Flutie Foundation. Thank you -so much on behalf of all our families at the Autism Alliance of MetroWest.

Our experience with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism Inc. has been nothing but terrific for the past 12 years. Since the early days, the foundation has supported us in so many ways. Long before we were recognized by the state as one of its autism support centers the Flutie Foundation supported our mission and goals to helping folks with autism.

Once established, the foundation continued to support special projects like such as our Sunday Open Gym, our educational videos and our favorite event Kite Day. For the past 10 years, the Flutie Foundation has joined forces with us to provide our community with an autism awareness day that brings almost 1000 people to Bose Mountain in Framingham to learn more about autism while enjoying a free, fun, family event. This event would not be possible without the support of the Flutie Foundation.

They have a committed staff, headed up by Lisa Borges, executive director and Chris Chirco, Director of Programming. Lisa and Chris are extremely accessible and always willing to help when they can.

We feel exceedingly fortunate to have been supported by the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism for the past 12 years.

The Flutie Jr. Foundation has been around for 10+ years, helping children and adults with autism. If you're a parent of a child with autism in New England, chances are you've been helped by the Fluties without even realizing it. (I know I have.) I do not know of any other foundation that supports the locally based agencies that are in direct contact with the families. These agencies provide much needed support and education to all members of the family. Without the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, many of these programs would never see the light of day. I've never had the feeling that the Foundation's message was to "cure" ore "fix" our kids but rather to celebrate our children for who they are, unbroken and with the right services and opportunites able to live life with happiness. If this sounds intense, well, autism is intense. I am grateful for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation.
