Veronica was incredibly helpful and responsive. She even drove out of her way to do a meet and greet. She was able to provide a lot of information and description of the behaviors of the dog and likes/dislikes. She texted several times to make sure Rosie was adjusting well and help us sort through any issues. She obviously cares very much to place these pups in the best fitting home.
My wife & I were recommended over to Southpaw from our neighbor friends. I reached out and was impressed that the owner Veronica got back to me so promptly. I explained our household and what we were kind of looking for - and she kindly gave us some great advice! Within a couple of days she called to set up an appt to come see the dog that she felt would best fit our Fam

Two months ago, we welcomed our beloved Scottie into our lives through Southpaw Rescue, and we truly can’t imagine our days without her.
Veronica from Southpaw and Colin, Scottie’s dedicated foster dad, provided exceptional care for her over the span of four to five months prior to our adoption. Scottie arrived at Southpaw with a host of health challenges, including issues with her eyes, uterus, ticks, and bite wounds. Her journey to recovery was a steep climb, but the rescue went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure she received the comprehensive care she needed to thrive and find her forever home. Scottie’s smooth transition into our family and her joyful demeanor are a testament to the gentle and compassionate care she received from Veronica and Colin.
Our family, based in Northern California, was Southpaw’s first adoption beyond Southern California. Veronica took a leap of faith with us, meticulously evaluating our suitability as a forever home. She provided us with detailed veterinary records, including x-rays, vet notes, and her own observations from each appointment. I was profoundly impressed by the thoroughness and care that Southpaw exhibited long before Scottie was officially up for adoption.
We had ample opportunities to communicate and FaceTime with Scottie’s foster dad before making the journey to meet her. He was always ready to answer our questions, sometimes even repeating answers to ensure we were fully informed. When we traveled to Southern California to pick up Scottie, the process was exactly as described—clear, straightforward, and filled with warmth.
Since the adoption, Southpaw has stayed in touch, underscoring their unwavering commitment to the success of their adoptions.
I would adopt from Southpaw again without hesitation. If we were still in Southern California, I would eagerly foster for them as well.

I adopted my homie Zeus from Southpaw two summers ago. Then I started fostering for Southpaw. They take rescue serious and together we've had good luck finding homes for dogs that Southpaw has pulled from high kills shelters.

My wife and I adopted two wonderful puppies from Southpaw Rescue. The adoption process was seamless and we couldn’t be happier! Veronica is a sweetheart and it is clear her heart and soul are deeply invested in the rescue and care of the dogs in her charge.
I have volunteered with southpaw but have only been fostering this last year. What a wonderfully organized and caring rescue. The animals go to a vet. They are taken care of. They are transported. I’m provided with food and bedding, leashes collars medication with no out-of-pocket expense. All they want is someone to provide a loving home, until these poor little things can find their forever home. They actively promote the animals to get adopted and they check and double check and triple check to be sure that each pet is placed in the most loving safe and perfect environment.
I have never seen anyone with the compassion and dedication to animals that Veronica has. She considers the welfare of her animals before anything else. I am also so impressed with the screening process that she does for potential pot ential new homes for her charges. She takes finding a good fit between owner and pet very very seriously. I am grateful there are people like her in the world.
Callie the dog was rescued by Southpaw Rescue just prior to being euthanized by County animal control.
At that time Callie was scared, covered with ticks and emaciated as she had apparently been abandoned in the local mountains. Yet Southpaw Rescue saw the value in Callie and nursed her back to health to include nutrition, medical check up and DNA testing. Today Callie is happy and willing to learn proper training. She is highly intelligent and active. All of this is due to the compassion and skill of Southpaw Rescue.

Southpaw Rescue helped me rescue two young dogs from euthanasia in a high kill Southern California shelter. When no other rescue would help, Southpaw responded without hesitation to save these two dogs who would have perished. Each dog has found a wonderful forever home. Their dedication and commitment to saving many at risk dogs from these high kill shelters is extraordinary. A wonderful organization that does so much to help save abandoned animals in need. I’m a nationally recognized wildlife artist & do shows across the country but was proud & honored to be a part of their town fundraising show. The founder, Veronica worked so hard to make it a successful, fun & educational event for visitors. Many animals in need of love were adopted, & much needed funds were raised for other rescues.
Time and time again, Southpaw goes above and beyond to save and love forgotten, discarded, hurt, sick, and even healthy pups. Rain or shine, snow or sun - they've been there for countless pups.
Southpaw Rescue (especially the founder) works tirelessly to give dogs a new chance at a happy life. Something that always chokes me up is when the founder picks up dogs at high-euth shelters and snaps a pic of their "freedom ride" to the safety of foster. These are dogs who've been abandoned and neglected in their past and the big heart of Southpaw Rescue scoops them up, gives them safety/love and connects them to their forever family.

Our experience with Southpaw rescue was beyond our expectations. The love and care they show every dog that comes in is so wonderful. When I came across Southpaw rescue and saw the litter of puppies we knew in our heart we wanted to adopt one. We lost our beloved Allie and after several months we decided to rescue another dog. They made the experience very easy and the care and love they put into every dog they rescue is wonderful. We are forever grateful for their love for Chloe's mom and rescuing her.

The adoption of my new fur baby was flawless and smooth from beginning to completion. I mentioned to the founder of Southpaw Rescue a few months ago that I was very interested in Shadow but at the time I was not in a place of being able to adopt her. I followed her story and hoped and prayed that she would find her forever home that was best for her. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I contacted Veronica about possibly adopting Shadow and she informed me that she had a potential adopter who was scheduled to meet with her and that she would contact me if that didn't go through. Sure enough, within a day of that meeting Veronica contacted me to inform me that Shadow was still available for adoption. I met with Veronica and Shadow in my home and decided right then and there she was meant to be with me. The adoption was completed within two days and Shadow is now part of my pack. She is doing very well and we love her so much. Thank you Veronica for doing what you do for all the animals that you take in but especially for what you have done for Shadow. I highly recommend Southpaw Rescue!!!

SouthPaw Rescue is not your typical everyday rescue. Veronica and her team set a higher standard than most others. They are attentive to each individual case that comes through. Southpaw provides the necessary care and needs to all there four legged family members ….these include working with veterinarians and vet technicians on a case by case to ensure that each dog gets the necessary treatment to a better quality of life. But most of all to mention about the Southpaw Team …. Is how they work with dogs that have been neglected and abused . They work on establishing positive bonds of trust in a loving and caring environment. Southpaw is small but mighty rescue giving our four legged friends a second chance to a life filled with love and companionship. I have worked with the young woman who started Southpaw rescue for several years fostering dogs to help them overcome fears, bad behavior or illnesses while she searched for their forever homes for them. I was impressed with how important it was for her to ensure that the animals were settled in, safe and adapting to a new home environment. She checked regularly making sure foster parent/dogs were all doing well. I also adopted a young boxer from Southpaw and will continue to support such a well run and caring rescue.
I adopted my pup Buddy in late April from Southpaw Rescue. I got to see firsthand how much love and care they place in taking care of their rescues, the thoroughness of their process to ensure the rescues end up in the right home, and how detailed they were about the adoption process.
It was an honor to work with Southpaw rescue. They genuinely care about every single dog they foster/adopt. They made our adoption process an easy and fun experience.
3 of god’s most amazing pupsters found their home through Southpaw and I hug and kiss them each a hundred times a day! I can’t wait for tomorrow, thank you Southpaw!
They have been doing a great job helping the mountain community’s pets. They held a pet vaccination clinic, which helped so many dogs and their people. They go out of their way to to try and help as many of the abandoned animals that get dumped up here as they can. They have become an essential part of our community!
I am proud to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Southpaw Rescue. Prior to joining Southpaw, I had the pleasure of working with Veronica at another non-profit for many years. She is an amazing animal advocate and an all-around wonderful human. Veronica pours her heart into Southpaw Rescue and the animals of Southern California are the better for it. Southpaw's volunteers and foster families provide essential services to animals in need. They are organized, professional, compassionate, and full of love. I am in awe of all that they do.
We had a wonderful experience when we adopted our female boxer, Dixie and feel very fortunate to have worked with Southpaw Rescue. The entire process was professionally taken care of prior to us receiving her and we’re so happy we went with such a top notch rescue service.
I have worked closely with Southpaw Rescue’s founder Veronica for many years, as she was going through the multiple steps to get her 5013C status. Along the way I have seen her take in and help so many needy homeless dogs, often at her own expense. Every animal she takes is is treated with the utmost care and kindness.
I have also personally adopted two dogs from Southpaw Rescue, and Veronica is thorough and careful about who she adopts to and makes the process as easy and efficient as possible.
