We adopted our dog Ollie through Outta The Cage and he's been such a joy in our lives. We're really grateful for all of the great work Jill does saving these sweet dogs!
We adopted a great puppy from Jill at Outta the Cage rescue. He’s been a great addition to our family. Jill really cares about the pets she rescues and follows up on how the pet is doing from time to time. I highly recommend her company!
We adopted our beautiful 3 year old Lottie (FKA Lala) from Outta the Cage. We met Lala at the Best Friends Animal Society Super Adoption Event at the Rose Bowl in November 2024. The handlers and Jill were so friendly and reassuring and they made us feel like they would have our back if we ever needed anything to support Lala. They were very transparent about her history (overbred and dumped at the shelter) and things we should know (not great leash manners), but also clear was their deep affection and love for Lala. She has turned out to be the best girl and she has transitioned so well, thanks in part to the simple how-to's on decompressing a shelter dog that Outta the Cage provides. I just donated to this marvelous rescue for Giving Tuesday. We are so grateful! Keep up the great work, Jill and team!!
We had an amazing experience with Outta the Cage, they support us without any pressure every step of the way, in the most friendly matter, we love our puppy so much and he is totally part of our family now. Thank you Jill and your team for this great experience!
First and foremost, they save lives! Jill and Outta The Cage bring pet and human partners together, with care and compassion. I saw Bogie's puppy picture on their website, and was immediately hooked, and further shocked that no one had rescued him yet. Jill brought him to my house for a meet and greet, met my neighbors and their dogs. A connection was forged and we're both better for because of it. Bogie has his forever home, and we both Outta The Cage to thank.!
We are familiar with Outta the Cage from their adoption events with our friends at Nectar of the Dogs Wine. At their most recent event, we fell in love with our furever friend, Maverick. The adoption was easy and the online application process was amazing. Jill and her volunteers have always been so caring and professional each time we have met them. We are so grateful to have been able to work with Outta the Cage and thankful for everything they do for dogs and our community!
Outta The Cage is using the most successful and efficient strategies possible to save innocent lives.
A crisis of abandoned animals is overwhelming the public animal shelter systems in the Los Angeles area, and many people are fighting heroically to save the animals caught in the middle. These well-intentioned rescuers face an uphill battle as there are so many animals in need, its hard to know where to begin - and its easy to waste effort frantically throwing out "emergency appeals" on every animal they hear about.
Outta The Cage has the same noble goal, but a much more effective strategy: They only work to promote animals they have actually met and worked with, which allows them to give potential adopters much greater information and be more successful in actually saving animals' lives.
That potential adopter was me: Tragically I had recently lost my German Shepherd after thirteen years, and was starting to look for another - an almost overwhelming process online where one might see one photo and a few sentences about each animal - and there are hundreds.
The communication from Outta The Cage was far superior: Clear, well-produced video showing human interaction with each subject animal, and full information. That prompted me to inquire further, and my email generated a direct phone call back within ten minutes. That process (and the dog presented!) was so successful that it prompted me to drive almost nine hundred miles round trip, from Sonoma County in Northern California to Los Angeles, where I was able to bond with and adopt my new best friend (who was set to be euthanized ten days later to make space in the shelter due to "poor kennel presence"!! - when all he needed was a chance to show his true character; he's a sweetheart!).
Their personal detailed approach allowed me to make a connection I never would have been able to otherwise, and save a life. I am not local to Outta The Cage, but they changed my life and I have donated to them personally; I sincerely hope others will support them as well.
As a shelter volunteer, I have had multiple interactions with OTC team members and found them to be passionate about their work and compassionate in their approach to rescue. They pull shelter dogs that desperately need a second chance but are running out of time, donate time to help exercise shelter dogs, and help secure medical treatment for rescued dogs with major medical issues. They also have rescued gamprs (a very large, livestock guarding breed) and moved them into living situations where they flourish. I am so grateful to the OTC team for what they have been able to accomplish.
I’ve worked with Outta The Cage Dog Rescue for over 3 years in my capacity as a volunteer at one of the highest volume city shelters with LA Animal Services. Outta The Cage is relentlessly committed to the hugely demanding work of saving dogs from overcrowded and stressful shelters, and successfully getting them placed in their forever homes. They truly deserve the title of “rescue” as they take dogs that otherwise would struggle to get out of shelters due to a variety of challenges, including their size, breed, medical and/or behavioral challenges. In short, they don’t just go for the easy ones. They choose dogs that genuinely need to be rescued. I think of them as a cross between a Navy Seal and a guardian angel. They have courage, commitment and rock solid integrity, while showing genuine love and joy for all the dogs in their care.
I have been a volunteer for years at a variety of animal shelters both in Chicago & Los Angeles & have come in contact with a variety of animal rescue organizations. While volunteering for a well known national rescue, I became aware of OuttaTheCage after hearing about the incredible lifesaving work they were doing even though they were a small nonprofit dependent on donations & the kindest of strangers. Since then, I've gotten to know the founders of OuttaTheCage & have found them to be sincere in their mission. honest & transparent & devoted to saving as many animals as they can especially the medical cases that most rescues avoid. OuttaTheCage is an incredible nonprofit rescue & having met quite a few of the animals they saved, they agree with me.
We had the best experience with Jill and Outta the Cage adopting our beautiful new addition to our family. Jill is very caring and wants the best for her dogs. Outta the Cage provided needed medical care and Jill was so kind coming to our home for a visit and accommodating the placement. It was a real pleasure!
Can I first say how much I admire and respect Outta The Cage rescue group?
I've worked with this group as a volunteer, foster, and adopter. In all capacities, I've experienced nothing but compassion, organization, knowledge, expertise and positive response.
Outta The Cage helps dogs in many different ways. They pull from shelters, place in foster, adopt out, organize and facilitate out of state rescues with shelter pulls and transport, and Good Sam.
Other volunteers and shelter staff also speak positively and respectfully about Outta The Cage rescue. They are a pleasure to partner with, and set an excellent example of how a rescue should be run.
I'm pleased to continue partnering and supporting them however I can!
P.S. Did I mention I recently adopted my beloved Cali from them? I'm proud to say I'm an official Outta The Cage foster fail!
I adopted the BEST dog from them. Wilbur. He was hard to adopt for most because he was black(brindle). He is so sweet. Smart. Crate trained and such a character. Jill was with me every step of the way after adoption. Thank you.
We had an excellent experience with Outta The Cage when we adopted our dog, Poppy. Jill and her crew are dedicated and diligent in finding the best homes for their rescues. Jill met us at the foster's house and filled us in on how she met Poppy and Poppy's needs. Even though Poppy is timid, Poppy opened up immediately upon seeing Jill. Jill also continues to check in with us for updates on Poppy. I can't rave more about this animal rescue group. They're the best!
Outta the Cage is an ethical and thoughtful rescue that is making a real difference in the lives of dogs. They are careful to place the right dogs with the right humans. They invest a lot of time and money in each dog they save to ensure, as much as possible, successful placement. They take the time to meet and network many dogs in need at the shelters, helping to get them seen and increasing their chance for rescue or adoption. As a shelter volunteer, I enjoy working with Outta the Cage and rest easy knowing they care so much for the animals they save. And there are a lot of them!
We crossed paths with Outta The Cage for the first time about three months ago when we applied to foster one their dogs, Buster, who had just undergone extensive orthopedic surgery. I can’t speak highly enough of Jill and her team. Their level of responsiveness, attentiveness and dedication is second to none. They have gone above and beyond to help us integrate Buster into our family and our lives are richer for it. As a shelter volunteer and pet owner, I always say “I wish I could do more”. Well, Outta The Cage does just that: more. Thank you, we are so grateful to have found you and Buster!
Our lives were enriched in 2020 when Outta The Cage allowed us to adopt Rocco! We first saw him on a Facebook post and decided we had to meet him. We applied and had an immediate response putting us in touch with Rocco’s fosters. After our meet and greet at their home, we had a visit from Jill Dyche to do a home inspection. This organization did everything to insure Rocco would be adopted by caring humans into a safe and secure environment. We highly recommend Outta The Cage for the endless work they do for so many dogs and families.
I have known and worked with Jill and the Outta the Cage team for a couple of years now, as a volunteer for LAAS and pre- and post-adoption behavior and training resource.
This organization continually goes far above and beyond the expectations and is always reaching out with assistance wherever possible, and in multiple situations, from helping remote rescues with pulling and transport; aiding in the transport, treatment, foster care, and placement of dogs with medical needs; fundraising; enrolling rescued pets in training to set them up for success; networking local shelter pets on TV and social media; and so much more.
Outta the Cage sets the bar very high for other rescue organizations and is always trying to reach further to help pets, the public, and other organizations in any way they are able.
Kudos to Jill and her team!
As a volunteer at a city shelter in the Los Angeles area, I am able to see how local rescue organizations operate. And, in my opinion, none of them are as efficient, effective and well- run as Outta the Cage. They are one of the few rescues who pull 'big dogs' that might have behavioral issues on their record. Many of these dogs have been languishing month after month in their kennels with very little hope of getting out. Outta the Cage sees the potential in these dogs, rescues them and gets them the training they need to be awesome, adoptable pets. They are literally giving these forgotten animals a second chance to thrive in a loving home. I only wish there were more rescues like Outta the Cage in the SoCal area. But, I'm so grateful for Jill and her small but mighty organization!!!
Outta the Cage has been a literal life saver. They are always rescuing dogs from my shelter. When we have urgent requests or a dog that may interest them they are always willing to help. We know that the dogs that Outta the Cage pulls will be well taken care and we don’t have to worry about them once they leave. Jill is professional and knowledgeable and a kind and generous person. They also have excellent communication which is extremely important when dealing with challenging situations that arise in a shelter environment. They also help network dogs that need some extra attention. We appreciate their commitment to easing the overcrowding shelter system and bettering the lives of these animals. Thank you Jill and Outta the Cage.
My wife and I first worked with outtathecage when we decided to foster a senior pit bull named Kira. She was a medical senior dog that needed a lot of attention and care, and being relatively inexperienced fosters, Jill made it as easy possible for us, including providing clear instructions and supplies, taking Kira to vet herself (pickup and drop off), and was always responsive with any concerns or questions we had. Outtathecage is definitely one of the best rescues we have fostered for and will always welcome an outtathecage dog in our home.
Where do I even start? Outta the Cage is my absolute favorite rescue! I've volunteered and fostered for multiple rescues in Los Angeles and haven't found a better one than them and here's why: Outta the Cage truly cares for the dogs and respects their volunteers/fosters. I have fostered for other organizations that didn't care for my time, made me buy everything, weren't communicative with the plan or sometimes wouldn't respond to me when I told them I couldn't hold onto the dog any longer, never checked in with me, and we're hesitant to pay for a vet bill when it was needed...I could go on. However, I never had any of those problems with Outta the Cage! Jill was an easy phone call or text away if I had any questions and always made sure I had all the resources I needed (and emotional support too). On top of that, Outta the Cage always does what was best for the dog, even if it meant getting them expensive treatment or medicine. They don't stop there though! They don't just care for the dogs in their rescue, they also work hard to get to know dogs at the shelter and network them through videos. Additionally, when I fostered for another rescue, Jill helped me network my foster dog even though the dog was from a different organization! Jill even keeps on touch with the adopters and visits the dogs because she loves them so much! Even though it is a small rescue, Outta the Cage impresses me with how organized they are, their tech savvy skills (thanks to Tam), and the amount of outreach they have to the community and to other rescues. If you could call a whole organization selfless, Outta the Cage would take the cake on that; they truly are here to help all the dogs! Thank you, Jill and team from Outta the Cage, for all you do!

Outta the Cage is hands-down my favorite rescue that I have had the pleasure to work with. Throughout my experiences with volunteering and fostering at different animal rescues, I have learned that not all rescues are the same and that it really makes a difference when you are volunteering or fostering for one that really cares about the dogs AND the people that volunteer their time or open up their home to help out. Outta the Cage is definitely that kind of rescue! I received so much support from Jill when I fostered for her, not just in terms of supplies, but also with her transparency throughout the whole process and her check-ins to make sure we were doing well. She always has a plan for every single dog and works with the fosters if something comes up. Additionally, Outta the Cage focuses on at-risk dogs that may be harder to adopt (eg. medical dogs, older dogs, large breed pitbull type dogs, etc) so that they can give them a second chance at life. Not only do they pull these dogs when they have fosters or trainers lined up, but they also get information, video, and network other dogs so they can be seen by the public (which is extremely important especially during this time when I'm person visits to shelters are limited). I loved fostering a sweet 10 year old pittie from Outta the Cage named Kira, who had mammary masses and was running out of time at the shelter. Jill and her team saw past her medical issues and her age, got the masses removed, and eventually found her the best forever home with a wonderful lady and other fur siblings. I easily get attached to my fosters, but I feel great comfort in knowing that I can trust Jill to find the best home for them. She is honest to potential adopters and fosters to ensure that the people and dogs are set up for success. On top of that, Jill always checks in with her adopters to make sure everything is going well with their new dog and will try to help out if there are any issues. She even connected me to Kira's adopter, who lets me visit and hike with Kira and her fur brothers. Even when I had a foster dog from a different rescue, Jill was willing to put in effort to help me network the dog and help me find an a new foster since I was going back to work. Jill really has a big heart and just wants to help as many dogs as possible find their forever homes. I highly recommend Outta the Cage to my friends, family, and even strangers as a place to donate, foster, or adopt!
As a shelter volunteer, networker, and long-time pitbull rescuer, I’ve come to know the diligent, intelligent, and impressively far-reaching work of Outta the Cage and its founder Jill Dyche. OTC doesn’t shy away from helping dogs in need of extensive medical attention and those in need of training. Jill focuses on our long-term stay shelter dogs and never turns her back on a community dog in need. Without Jill and her dedication through the top-tier work of Outta the Cage, so many of our wonderful, large-breed dogs would never make it outta their cages and into the loving homes in which they thrive today. Success story after success story, shelter dogs all over Los Angeles have a true ally and friend in Outta the Cage!
My name s Kim whitehead and I have been a member of the Board of Directors for Outta the Cage since they became a 501(c)3 in 2016. During that time I have literally watched them save the lives of over 1000 shelter dogs. This rescue is run with the utmost care and professionalism, and enjoys a reputation of service and integrity in the community.
I never set out to be a dog owner. I volunteered to foster this handsome fellow for a week at the beginning of the pandemic. Well...you know the rest. I'm a proud foster fail and all thanks to the amazing, nurturing work of Outta the Cage. Jill, the Exec Director, has helped every step of the way. She's on hand to answer my random newbie questions as well as to root for my four legged BFF in every aspect of his new life. She gets dogs the training and support they need so they can have the prosperous, healthy, happy lives they deserve once sprung from the shelters. She works hard to select dogs that she knows will make good pets and prioritizes larger dogs, which are the hardest ones to get adopted. Every person I know who has adopted from Outta the Cage has been thrilled with the process and with their dogs. If you are at all considering fostering/adopting a rescue, please please consider doing it through Outta the Cage. And if you're not fostering/adopting but are game to support a rescue org, your money could not be better spent than by donating to this amazing organization.

This is a 10 star rescue. Very hands-on. If I was going to foster for a rescue I would foster for them. They promote the dogs like crazy. Not only the dogs under their rescue but they are always going to the different shelters, videoing and promoting the dogs in need. Great Non-profit don't hesitate to give and to adopt through them. They save hundreds of worthy lives.
There are many good nonprofit rescues, but Outta The Cage is one of the best! It is a highly respected rescue that is transparent about where the pets they rescue go and updates are provided; if they are unable to pull a shelter pet that might be in danger, they make every effort to visit the shelter and take videos and photos and then help network the pets. They have an immense following of people who want to help, as well.
This nonprofit "Far exceeds expectations."
I'm a volunteer at my local shelter. I was introduced to Outta the Cage when I offered to foster a medical dog with a broken leg and other injuries. Jill went above and beyond for both me as the foster and the dog, Magdelina. No expense was spared for her medical needs and I was supported the entire time . Beyond my experience fostering for this great rescue, Outta the Cage is my go-to when there's a dog at the shelter that needs help being seen. So many great dogs are simply overlooked by the public. Jill has excellent intuition and fantastic dog-sense. She will spend time with these overlooked dogs and use her social media to help give visibility to dogs that would otherwise be ignored. I've seen Outta the Cage go above and beyond for each and every dog that they rescue. If they can't rescue a dog, they will help network. They have set the bar high as to what I personally expect from a rescue organization.
I now gleefully help with Outta the Cage, but I found them because they saved my dog a day before euthanization. He is now so much of my life, my hapiness, I give all the credit to Outta the Caage.

Outta The Cage is a phenomenal organization. I adopted my little pitty Mini from Jill Dyche and Outta The Cage. Since that time I've paid careful attention to the work of Outta The Cage and it is the most honorable and dedicated organization I've ever seen. Not only did Jill and OTC facilitate Mini's adoption, they've stayed in touch with me and Mini and offered help on numerous occasions to make certain Mini and I are healthy, happy and thriving. I can't emphasize enough how amazing this organization is. If you choose to donate, I promise every penny will be used to protect and save the most vulnerable, deserving animals from a terrible fate in dog shelters in Los Angeles and beyond.
Jill had posted a plea about sweet, senior pup Simon whose time had run out and had no interest. I became his foster and working with Jill couldn’t have gone easier. She was there every step of the way, returning calls so quickly, giving all the support I needed and our sweet Simon landed his dream home in a month! She took an un-noticed dog, that had nothing wrong with him except a few extra years on him and changed everyone’s life for the better... including mine.
Almost two years ago, I volunteered to foster a dog that the wonderful Outta The Cage team had just rescued from an L.A. area pound – a neglected, injured, skinny older guy. Jill and Tamara had saved his life not only because of his amazing green eyes, but because they knew right away that this “unwanted” dog was a particularly beautiful, sweet old soul. They genuinely love and adore all of their rescues – and make you see how special they are, too. Must be some kind of superpower! I really admire what they do – they are so smart, thoughtful and tough. Remember, rescuing dogs is not for sissies! But when you see them interact with their “kids” in the shelter or even in their backyard, there is so much joy! Not only are they experienced in making abandoned pets feel safe and loved again, no, they even put the biggest smiles on their faces (I swear they teach them funny jokes!). As a first-time foster mom, I found these women incredibly committed, caring and “dog-smart”: Whenever I had questions about my foster – and there were many! –, they were always there to support me/us: great mentors for dogs and humans alike. Not only did they help with medical advice and bills, they also took us to trainers and on walks with friendly groups to learn more about his behavior: so the dog – and his human! – would trot confidently and sanguinely into their new life together. It was a rewarding and fun experience. One thing I have to admit though: I failed as a foster mom. As so many before him, green-eyed Cash walked Outta The Cage and into someone’s heart. He found his forever home – with me. And believe me, his jokes are really the best.
I am very thankful and grateful to the volunteer as Jill whom dedicate them time, life and heart for the abused and abandoned dogs cause! Thank to her and my dear Friend Mika we have rescued Tibi and Tibi adopting us, 2 years ago now and evey day, my Husband Victor and I, we are so in love with our "baby" and thinking of our live was before Tibi!

Merci, Veronique et Victor! You really worked hard to get la mignonne!! We are so grateful she went to such an excellent home with such good people. She's a wonderful ambassador for her breed, and you are too!
Rescue is tough. Every day there are URGENT dogs that need medical help. Every day there are URGENT dogs with kennel stress. Every day there are URGENT dogs that have a behavioral mark of some kind against them. Rescue is tough. Every day there are URGENT dogs that need someone.
When you think you cannot go on, when you think you cannot make a difference...Jill and Tamara come in and help get em Outta the Cage. The shut-down shelter dog perks up, smiles, plays and just gets to be dog. Seeing a dog have hope again gives you hope that you can make a difference. You can keep going. You can get em Outta the Cage!
With an extensive network of animal professionals and an even more extensive network of animal lovers, Outta the Cage works non-stop to give the dogs a chance. Outta the Cage is responsible - every dog has a plan in place and a back-up plan in place because rescue is hard. Every need is met, medical, training, or just promoting a dog that has gone unnoticed for way too long. Outta the Cage sees each dog as they were intended, fun-loving happy dogs that ended up someplace they were never meant to be.
Outta the Cage visits the shelters, meets the staff, meets the volunteers and meets the dog. No one can tell a story as funny and as heartwarming as Outta the Cage, all in exchange for a few doggie kisses. I support Outta the Cage because they support the dog that needs them. Equal Opportunity Doggie Savers. No breed restrictions. No size restrictions. No age restrictions. They help them all get Outta the Cage.

Outta the Cage 10/20/2020
You are one of our biggest advocates, Sue, and an even bigger one for the dogs. You are an intrepid and resourceful networker--not to mention a tireless dog (and human!) mom. You and Doug have done good in the world, and we're proud to know the Tuxill clan! Mmmmwah!
What we love about Outta The Cage is not just their commitment and boundless hearts, but the intelligence, insight and sense of informed purpose they bring to their work. Outta the Cage have a great mission and a great strategy, but they are also focussed and smart in every decision they make - every dog they bring to the public eye, the way they do that, finding the right balance of practical information, emotional warmth and savvy social media skills. It's a most impressive organization and one we are thrilled to support.
In October 2018, my Chihuahua Bob died from cancer. I planned on finding another rescue dog, but it was almost a year before the right one showed up. Jill Dyche of Outta the Cage was at a high kill shelter to rescue another great dog. While there she saw a Chi mix dog being surrendered because she would "jump on the baby." No other reason. When I saw this happening I contacted Jill and said I would take that little one in a minute if it could be done. Jill got right on it. It was Labor Day weekend, but she put the word out and a wonderful person who lived an hour away volunteered to wait in line for 2 hours on Saturday to adopt that Chi for me. She lived an hour away, but was willing to do that and to postpone her trip to Phoenix to see her daughter for the holiday weekend.
Outta the Cage arranged everything- the adoption, the fee to get the dog and the transportation of "Scout" (new name) to me in Arizona.
Jill and Outta the Cage were responsible for this young girl being saved from a high kill LA shelter. Most owner surrenders are given very little time, so it was essential to save Scout asap. And to arrange the transport was above and beyond anything I expected.
I had always tried to share the dogs that Outta the Cage saves to find new and good homes, but I never expected that they would be the ones who helped me fill that hole in my heart after losing Bob. And to get it all done on a busy Labor Day weekend was amazing.
God Bless Jill Dyche and Outta the Cage and all who help behind the scenes. May their good work and good deeds be spread far and wide. They have my support for life.
I support Outta The Cage because without Jill and Bonnie I would not have Bil (The Best Dog Ever). I was trying to contact the shelter to ask about a American Bulldog called Cuddles and no one would answer the phone. I called about 5 times a day for 3 days and no answer. I finally tried a second number that was listed to call and ask for Bonnie. I called but it went to mail box. Tried the shelter one last time and they finally answered and told me the dog had been adopted. It was not a minute after I hung up with the shelter that Bonnie called me back and said they now had the dog now called Ben and he was not adopted but rescued . Bonnie got in touch with Jill who brought him by the same day. It was always my intention to adopt this dog and I could not have gotten him without their help. I was told he was listed as NO INTREST and scheduled for euthanasia. So glad they were able to get him Outta The Cage and into my home. He is the best dog ever.
Oh, gosh. Where to begin?!?! Jill, Tamara and their organization, Outta The Cage, are simply the best. Not only do they rescue some of the "harder to adopt" animals from shelters, but they are uniquely, and actively, involved in humane education, and bring their expertise in technology to help shelters and rescue organizations, around the country (and probably the world!), increase their productivity and success. They have a robust foster system, and a far-reaching database of other rescue organizations, fosters, trainers, veterinarians, and others, so that in a moments notice, they are able to network and aid urgent need dogs, and others. They are - to put it simply - an inspiration!!!
The work that Outta The Cage does is PHENOMENAL! I've seen and watched first-hand as Jill and Tamara take in these beautiful, loving beasts, and shower them with care and affection, creating perfect companions that can rescue any human! They are totally dedicated to saving as many dogs as possible, and they don't shy away from problem animals, either. Rather, they work with those babies and bring them back - whether it be behavioral or physical! Thank you, Outta The Cage, and Jill and Tamara, for being angels!
I would like to recommend Outta the cage, Jill for the work with misunderstood,
senior, abandoned, abused, neglected (mentally, emotionally, and physically) dogs.
She rescues dogs from a shelter in many places. She then gives them medical treatment, behaver training, and foster care to make them healthy and well-balanced.
After that, she spends a lot of time to be very sure that they go to be the right family.
This work involves fundraising, all because of her extraordinary love for animals.
I admire and respect all of her work which required a very special person and she deserves the highest recognition.
By the way, I have 2 of Jill’s rescue dogs and they are the best

Thanks, Mika. Taking on a senior cancer survivor (THRIVER!) and a deaf dog--neither of whom had a chance in their respective shelters, requires a very special adopter. That would be you, girlfriend. We are SO happy we get to see Boo and Kira regularly, and even happier that their with you. Give everyone a big kiss for us!

Simply put, we could not have adopted our new dog, Stella without the help of Jill D and her crew at Outta The Cage. They bridge an un-bridged but essential gap of liasoning potential adoptees with shelters who are just too busy to place the very adoptable dogs they have but who no one sees (especially during COVID times). From the first phone call, Jill understood our issue of wanting a dog we'd seen on a local shelter website, but not being able to make a commitmetn without meeting the dog. Over the course of three weeks she ran interference with a wellmeaning but overburdened shelter staff, was able to get us pix/video of Stella, and then get her "outta the cage" on "loan" for a few hours and make the meet n greet, and thus adoption happen. Professional and empathic NPO top to bottom.

Outta the Cage 10/10/2020
Awww, thank you SO much Rick! We knew Stella was a good dog who just deserved a chance. You two gave her that, and SO much more! We're thrilled at how well she's doing, and how happy you all are!
I have fostered 2 dogs from Outta the Cage, As a first time foster ( although I had been a volunteer at a local shelter and had been a failed foster for my dog friend for 9 years) I was a bit concerned. I was assured by Jill that I was to assess the dog and report. The dog I had was a lovely dog, but I felt she would do better in a home with another dog. She also has some medical needs . Jill was responsive and that dog went to a more suitable placement. My second dog was a treat and after about a month was adopted to a wonderful home. He wanted so much to please us and wanted to learn what we wanted from him. He was a pleasure to have and lots of fun.
I recommend any dog that Jill rescues because she seems to be able to read their worth and know a good dog when she sees one! I am looking forward to helping with another foster soon.

Outta the Cage 10/05/2020
Given your experience and dog-savviness, this is especially meaningful coming from you, Elaine. You are a caring and patient foster, and a first-rate supporter of our mission. We're so happy you're in our OTC family!
Jill Dyche founded Outta The cage to help innocent animals that were surrendered to the shelter or came in as a stray through no fault of their own. These animals are often neglected or abused. Outta The Cage travels to various shelters across Southern California to take videos of these dogs and tell their stories. This helps them get into loving homes. Outta The Cage often takes harder to adopt dogs and gets them the socialization and training they need in order to get them into loving homes. They help pay for medical care and surgeries to get them healthy. I have contacted Outta The Cage many times for help trying to save a dog. They always respond and do what they can for each dog. Jill has an incredible connection with these dogs giving them much needed love, attention and helps them to know their lives matter. Not gonna lie, your review kinda made us tear up a little bit. All we ever wanted was to help good dogs get great homes. Thank you for seeing us, and for your lovely words.
I first saw Jill from Outta The Cage on a video of a dog I was interested in from East Valley Shelter, had I only seen a picture of this dog I don't think I would have been sold, but based on Jill's interaction in the video with the dog and her description of the dog's personality as she interacted with genuine affection for this animal, I became very interested! Outta The Cage finds dogs in shelters that have been overlooked due to medical issues, age, aggression issues, leash biting, etc. and gets them needed medical care, surgeries, training, loving fosters, and professional assessments, which makes them far more desirable and adoptable!! Jill and her associates do all this with great enthusiasm and love in their hearts. From near death to a great forever life, every dog they place is done so very carefully and lovingly to insure the proper fit. I will be adopting my next dog only from Outta The Cage!!!

Thank you, dear Lynn! We appreciate all your support. We will eventually find you your next BFF!!!
No one works harder than Jill Dyché and her team!!!!!
I choose to support Outta The Cage because of their endless, tireless efforts to champion Shelter dogs. I own such a dog and it is all due to Jill. Jill shared a video of a dog, Jasper, that was just coming out of surgery and re-habilitation for a spine injury following an accident.
I knew that I could help him. I was with out any pets at the time and Jasper found me through Jill. Now Jasper is healthy and thriving and loved. We celebrate his life every day. I live in Texas, but that did not stop me from going to get Jasper pre-covid. Now I am a little constrained and cannot hop on a plane to look for my next fur baby. Jill's videos and sharing has meant alot to me, because, the least I can do is put my thoughts and energy and financial support towards these lovely souls and hope the universe and Jill can take care of them.
