Point Pleasant is an amazing church, I've enjoyed getting to know members and the Youth pastor, Mr Harrell. PPUM helps with the EG Methodist church yard sale every year and their church helps and loves and gives and is in general super amazing.

A well-maintained space by people who truly care. The horses receive veterinary support and basic needs (sanitary shelter, grooming, food, and water) to a standard that prioritizes safety and comfort. Satisfactory fencing and plenty of space to roam!

A great non-profit organization that helps so very many and has worked tirelessly for 25 years to save babies. Truly a real family resource center that doesnt fluff their numbers or just provide lip service to their mission statement. I appreciste knowing my donations go to actually help the people they're intended for.

I have volunteered for Upendo Women's Foundation for seven years and counting. I am proud to work with this organization because of its mission, drive, and compassion. I have collaborated with outstanding individuals to get the girls in Africa the menstrual hygiene products they need. Through this organization, I have learned to sow products, gather materials, coordinate with others, and introduce those who are fortunate to the needs of women across the world. The organization works to elevate the voices of young women and recognizes that young women need to be seen, supported, and permitted the chance for a better future through education.

I have never worked with such dedicated and passionate individuals who are so willing to serve such a vulnerable group of people. We look forward to empowering many transition-age foster youth in El Dorado and Sacramento Counties in the years to come.

The work actually is more a passion of helping autistic children is so touching! They use horse riding as the tool to help the autistic children to live much better lives.<br>I have the privilege as a wine broker to provide wine for their fundraising events. <br>Please visit their facilities and watch the impact on autistic children, it will bring tears to your eyes!<br>

I work with Kwame and he is a man with a mission to serve God! He has a humble heart and truly exemplifies what it means to be the hands and feet of our Lord. He is very passionate about the Trans Atlantic Environmental Inc. - Light the World campaign and brings light and the message of Jesus to communities in Ghana. He has found a wonderful way to meet a critical need of these communities and to share the gospel.

Good ministry that helps give deserving people scholarships as well as ministering to a variety of needs.

I have known Mark since the mid 80s when we served together in the Air Force. He was an excellent cop and was/is one of my closest friends. I value his insights and trust his judgement. He is exceptionally qualified to provide support to those who are reentering society and the work force. Mark is compassionate to others needs and is able to motivate them toward success. I am very thankful this nonprofit exists.

I am one of the Directors and would love to let more people know about us! We have taught in afterschool for 2 years and now have a dance studio, as well. Very hard to get it contact with. And once you do get it contact, the staff is not very helpful. Once you adopt if you want to give the animal to a friend or family member, they have to submit an application and be approved as well, so the shelter pretty much owns the cat for the rest of its life, it's not really yours.

A HOPEFUL Story<br> Once upon a time there was this little girl who was abandoned by her mom because of drugs. She was sent to live with a father that was a workaholic, alcoholic and beat his wife on a continuous basis. At the age of fourteen she was put out of her dysfunctional home and left to fend for herself. There were times that she sat on a park bench and watched the cars pass by and wondered why with a world so big no one loved or cared about her. She stayed homeless for four years and during that time she birthed three children into the world, one at fifteen, one at sixteen, and one at seventeen. She was searching for the hope and love that she longed for and craved&hellip;<br>Fast forward twenty-seven or so years and meet Katina Hickmon, me. I poured all the hope and love I craved into my children, I now have five. Got a college degree, work for the state and serve and provide hope for the homeless, our HOPEFULS. Together I and my adult girls started feeding forty homeless people a month on the street just letting them know they are loved, then seventy homeless, now we feed between three hundred to three hundred and fifteen homeless HOPEFULS a month. We also provide hygiene products, clothes/shoes, and housing/employment resources. We have even relocated some of our HOPEFULS to other states to get them off the street. <br>Why do we do this? Well because I know what it&rsquo;s like to be alone in the world and to not have anyone to depend on. So we make sure that every life we touch receives what they need to become self-sufficient and more importantly, we restore HOPE. We lend our HOPEFULS the courage and faith to take another step. It is what I wanted as a homeless teen, so it&rsquo;s what we give them.<br>I made it and we help them to realize that they can make it also. With each step it gets easier and easier. <br>Together we created HOPEFUL, Inc to better serve our HOPEFULS and assist them in getting back on their feet and staying there. We are all the family that some of them have. We have created partnerships that help us to serve but funding is limited. SO the organization that we give to is our own, HOPEFUL, Inc. We are now a non-profit organization that serves the homeless population.<br>

In February of 2010 I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. A disease that damages tissue in various organs of the body. My sarcoisosis appears to have only presented in the lungs at this point in time. Having a relatively obscure disease is difficult to cope with. There is not much information available on the disease. This is where Sarcoidosis Awareness of Northern California comes in. Their efforts to create a local support structure and promote education and awareness have been a blessing for people like myself.
