A well-maintained space by people who truly care. The horses receive veterinary support and basic needs (sanitary shelter, grooming, food, and water) to a standard that prioritizes safety and comfort. Satisfactory fencing and plenty of space to roam!

Our daughter Carla has been working as a volunteer at “Save Them All Horse Rescue” for several months.
Given that Carla (age 50+, with a learning disability) loves horses very much, and always has, finding this amazing place has truly been a blessing. She volunteers twice weekly; always happy to go; no exceptions. Working at the horse ranch gives Carla meaning and purpose.
Vicki, the wonderful individual in charge of the total care for the 20 horses at the ranch, works tirelessly to see that these beautiful animals are always cared for in the best way possible. It’s very clear that for Vicki the horse ranch is a labor of Love, embracing each day always with a smile.
We cannot thank her enough for giving our daughter this opportunity and experience.
Many, many thanks, Vicki.
Happy Holidays!

I’ve been volunteering here with my friend for the past month. We were very impressed with the facilities right off the bat. She keeps many horses in very good shape, well fed and groomed. The owner Vicki had great stories of recovery to share with us about many of these amazing creatures, each with their unique personalities. We keep nice and busy with an assortment of tasks to help these horses stay healthy and safe. We love coming to STAHR on a weekly basis!

My wife volunteers 2-3 times per week while
I volunteer from time to time, whenever heavier work is needed and I’m available such as, cut tall weeds down, cut metal for shelter roofing, move heavy-duty rubber horse mats out & into new shelters, take horse panels down & move them.
There is always something to do here at STAHR.

I have been working directly with this organization for many years, spending time building shelters for the houses or helping with storm repair.
I have always had a great time with the entire team.
Caring for rescued horses and assisting in rehoming them, makes my heart full. By providing a location for these beautiful animals allows them to extend their lives as well as giving them a chance for them to be placed in a forever home.

Thanks again to everyone at Save Them All Horse Rescue.
Blessings to all for your continued efforts.

Save Them All Horse Rescue is dedicated to the health, comfort and safety of rescued horses. The welfare and happiness of these magnificent horses are priorities that are given with lots of love, patience and TLC. Founder Vicki Greene has nurtured this organization into an outstanding and extraordinary one which I am honored to be a part of and we are very fortunate to have this needed rescue in Elk Grove. Volunteering there is absolutely rewarding. We can all help Vicki with your donations so she can continue the commitment to rescuing horses.

Save Them All Horse Rescue is the only rescue I’ve ever volunteered at & continue to return because I enjoy being around the horses, working alongside with the other volunteers & of course STAHR owner & founder, Vicki Greene. There is always something to do at the rescue & its just nice being outside. The horses are beautiful, mostly friendly & curious. They love to be brushed & loved on.

Our rescue continues to be the best!!! We moved from nine (9) acres to twenty (20) acres in July 2023. we have much more space and the horses are in a safer environment. This move would not have been possible without dedicated volunteers, Boy Scouts of America and board members. We rebuilt the much needed Shelters and Lean-to's so that the horses would have some protection from the heat, rain and winds. We also installed irrigation so that the water was easily accessed. Our non-profit survives on fundraisers, collecting recyclables, selling rock and most important, donations from our donors. We currently have 20 horses!! We have 4 or 5 horses that are up for adoption and a few are in training!! Our adoption process is very thorough, our goal is to find their forever homes which means that the potential owner will be vetted to make sure that they have adequate space, a veterinarian, a farrier, and most importantly a good fit; we require references and in our contract, we make sure that they will not be breed and the potential owner will return the horse to us with a buy-back clause if for some reason the relationship does not work. We cannot thank our volunteers enough, without our volunteers we would not be able to be successful. We usually have our volunteer orientation between 4 to 6 weeks. Our volunteers are taught safety which is most important. On a normal day, we feed, muck out stalls, and work on special projects!! After our chores are done we spend time grooming and loving on our horses, they are very content!! Please visit our website at savethemallhorserescue.com and join our Facebook page!! Sign up to become a volunteer and join us on our horses' journeys!!

Save Them All Horse Rescue (STAHR) was founded in 2011 and became a 501(c)3 non- profit in 2014. STAHR is a no frills equine rescue where all donations go to the care and maintenance of our rescued horses. Run by volunteers only; there are no salaries.

Many horses come to us emaciated and struggling to hold onto life. An example is posted below; Jack. Jack was so neglected, our team of vets at Hunter Stallion Equine Station were not sure if he could be saved, but Jack had that little bit of will to live. With consistent care and lots of love, Jack has made an amazing recovery! Horses are very forgiving! The story of Jack is repeated over and over again. Those who rescue and volunteers who help are the voices for horses who need the help the most.
I love horses and am very proud of the impact STAHR makes in the community for each horse that comes to the rescue.
STAHR realizes the immense therapeutic value of connecting with horses and, I hear all the time from volunteers that STAHR is their “Happy Place.”

I was looking for a rescue facility, this wasn't the first but I knew I had to find the right fit. I found it at Save Them All Horse Rescue. Vickie is down to earth and has a heart as big as her rescue. My experience has been filled with hard work, getting to know the property and how it works but Mostly love from those amazing horses. Vickie believes in the hands-on approach which has been incredibly rewarding. I feel incredibly grateful to have found this rescue!

The Save Them All Horse Rescue truly cares for the horses and their well-beings. The owner, Vicky Greene, prioritizes the health of the 21 horses she cares for and makes sure they live their best lives. Day after day, she goes to the rescue and does so much to take the best possible care of the horses: feeding hay and grain, refilling water troughs, training, etc. If you want to volunteer somewhere, this is the perfect place to do so!!

STAHR is a great place to help the 21 horses. They are all amazing horses I have know Vicki Greene for years . She does a good job to keep her horses happy and fed. She spends more time than ever to make sure her horses are well taken care of.

STAHR has always been ran by donations from the voulteer's and donor's.

STAHR has been a big part of my life and new journey to help abused horses get a new start to trusting people.

Life at the rescue is never a doll moment. We are always trying to teach the new person how much work goes into helping are 21 horses. With love and care ..

The pictures are from horse's that I remember helping STAHR help take care of. I really enjoyed seeing them live life at the rescue.

I began volunteering at STAHR in September ‘21. I had never worked at an animal rescue or been around horses so I had no idea what to expect. STAHR is a no-frills rescue that houses about 20 horses at any given time. From the get-go I was impressed by how well-cared for these horses are. Almost half are ‘sanctuary’ horses that, for whatever reason, are not adoptable and will ever remain at the rescue. The rest are surrendered to STAHR for any number of reasons, but all need special care of some sort. After all, it is a rescue. Many of them have been abandoned, or suffered neglect, or were saved by Vicki, the owner and founder, from slaughter.

One thing is clear: Vicki’s #1 objective is to do what’s best for the horse, whatever that is, and whatever the cost. Vicki has dedicated her life to these horses. She makes sure she has a clear understanding of the physical condition and medical needs of each horse, and works tirelessly to provide for them.

I cannot speak highly enough of this rescue. If you love horses, this is the rescue to support. The horses are awesome, the volunteers who donate their time there are awesome, and Vicki is awesome.

I will start by saying that everyone here loves and really cares about horses. The work completed at Save Them All Horse Rescue is necessary to help horses in need in our area. There is no place like it! They are treated with the best care possible. All the horses are under go necessary treatments and are provided with special care to make sure they are happy and healthy so they can eventually find a forever home.

The work that goes on is also very helpful and informative to other organizations in our area such as Girl Scouts. It also shows members of our community compassion and care for these poor animals.

Beyond just healing horses, so many people that are part of STAHR have stories of what they’ve overcome by working here. We’re all from different backgrounds and experience levels but every horse is well cared for. It’s such a beautiful thing to see how a horse can transform with proper care. Some of these animals have such unspeakable pasts and Vickie’s experience is such a value to bring them back to health. I’m so grateful to be able to learn from her and the other more experienced volunteers.

I stumbled upon Save Them All Horse Rescue in June of this year. I was searching for a horse and figured by volunteering at the rescue I could get back up to speed on horse care. Little did I know that I would meet the horse of my heart that first morning. (I have attached a picture of my mare Eve)

Vicki Green is the founder of Save Them All Horse Rescue. She is beyond dedicated to these amazing animals. The horses in her care want for nothing. She vet checks them all upon arrival and tends to the medical needs found. The horses are all well fed and cared for with lots of love. The facility is kept clean by Vicki and her merry band of volunteers on a x2 daily basis (at minimum). The horses are worked with by a trainer, hired by Vicki, to make certain they are ready for placement when the right person comes along. If a horse can’t be placed for some reason, that lucky horse will be cared for as a sanctuary horse for the remainder of its life.

I have been volunteering at Save Them All Horse Rescue 5-6 days a week since that first day back in June. Every moment spent was well worth the time and the 50 mile round trip! I have witnessed a lot! The dedication of Vicki to the Rescue and to the horses in her care is top notch. I am so happy my path crossed hers!

My Grandma, Vicki Greene started this rescue 9 years ago. I have been with her through most of it and she has always been dedicated to the care of her horses. She gets the horses in all kinds of conditions. From neglected or abused to no longer wanted, she sticks to her goal: to rehabilitate them and give them the love and care they deserve, and find a forever home for them. She has done this multiple times and I can think of plenty of horses that are still with their loving adopters. I am amazed at her skills and knowledge and devotion. I have been with her in 110 degree heat and during hour long rainstorms making sure that all of her horses are cared for. She has built her rescue from the ground up. Whether or not she has help, she is out there at least half of the day 365 days of the year. Vicki is an amazing person and she has touched many people’s hearts with her mission, including my own. I’d love to nominate Save Them All Horse Rescue for the Top Rated Nonprofit!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Save Them All Horse Rescue and Vicki Greene!! Over the last 21/2 years I have spent countless hours with Vicki and her horses, and I am constantly amazed at her strength (physical & mental), compassion, and unwavering commitment to provide for and make a difference in all of these horses lives. She is not a fair weather horse rescuer, she exemplifies what it is to be a true horse woman. I’ve dredged through mud up to my knees by her side during torrential rainstorms to get the horses fed, and have scorched myself beside her in 110 degree heat to make sure they are fed, watered and get their dose of love. And Vicki does this, with or without volunteer help, 365 days a year!! And she does it all for the love of saving horses.
And thank you to Vicki and Save Them All Horse Rescue I was able to meet The Great Love of my life, and adopt Steely Wonder!! Steely is an off the track thoroughbred (OTTB) from Golden Gate Fields where he raced as a youngster, and 6 years later found himself in the loving hands of Vicki Greene at her rescue when his last owner could no longer care for him. As fate would have it, I started volunteering at the rescue several months later and began working with this incredible horse. I started riding at the young age of 4 1/2 and I’ve been fortunate to ride and spend time with many many unique and wonderful horses in the last 35 years. Not since my childhood horse have I had such a special deep soulful connection with a horse until this sweet, silly, affectionate, challenging, and powerful 16.1 hh dappled grey thoroughbred named Steely Wonder came into my life at Save Them All Horse Rescue. It was a dream come true when I was able to adopt him in February this year!! I’ll never forget the look on Vicki’s face when I casually brought up that today was the day we’d need to stop by the bank so I could grab Steely’s adoption fee. She asked in almost disbelief, “What? Are you serious?” She’s known for a very longtime how much he means to me, the special connection we have, and how much I’ve wanted to be able to adopt him. I nodded. And all she said was, “Oh my gosh. Wow.” ..And the smile that emerged was one I’ll never forget. I believe it’s the smile of hers that comes from deep within knowing that one of her rescued horses has found his true forever person.
It’s moments like that that I believe add fuel to Vicki’s ongoing & tireless commitment to rescuing & rehabilitating abused, neglected, and unwanted horses. It’s her ability to take in these unwanted discarded souls from all backgrounds, and of all sizes, ages, and breeds, rehabilitate them, and find them their forever home that makes her and her rescue so exceptional. She’s making a huge difference in this world one life at a time which over the years is amounting to many many lives. And for that, Save Them All Horse Rescue is truly the greatest nonprofit!!!

I have been volunteering at Save Them All Horse Rescue for the last few years. The rescue takes in a wide variety of horses in need of help ranging from wild mustang mares & their babies to thoroughbreds that have been discarded from the racing industry. At times horses arrive sick or injured & they are nursed back to health & rehabilitated in order to get a new forever home. Vicki Greene’s passion for helping horses is an inspiration, she & her rescue are saving the lives of many horses that otherwise would have met a terrible fate. Thank you Vicki & Save Them All Horse Rescue for all that you do!!

I have found the time that I have spent volunteering at Save Them All Horse Rescue very rewarding. Vicki, the president, spends every day at the Rescue, and works hard making sure the horses are well cared for. Vicki’s mission is to save as many horses as possible. For those who love horses, the Rescue is a great non-profit organization to volunteer. It can be hard work, but because you will have the opportunity to interact with the horses, it is well worth it!

I visited All Horse Rescue earlier this year and was surprised and so pleased when I saw the facility. There are ample pastures for grazing and for tha horses to be together – very important for these social animals. There are corrals for the mares & foals & for horses that arrive injured or ailing.

Vicky, the head of this organization, and her volunteers are clearly horse lovers.
They do excellent outreach& they are always seeking good, loving homes for the horses. Vicky is conscientious about getting each and every horse that comes into their facility the level of care that is needed.

Some of the horses are primarily in need of TLC. However other individuals arrive in very bad condition & need care from a veterinarian. Care is often life-saving but expensive. All Horse Rescue is in need of help from the community and beyond. This is a caring, well-run facility that allows sadly abused horses another chance to be safe and healthy.

I was in a tough spot and really needed help. After talking to a couple of other places, I talked to Vicky and she turned out to be the savior I needed. She was kind and patient and helped me work through to find a solution. You can really tell that she loves her animals and takes care of them properly. So grateful for the experience, thanks so much.
