In February of 2010 I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. A disease that damages tissue in various organs of the body. My sarcoisosis appears to have only presented in the lungs at this point in time. Having a relatively obscure disease is difficult to cope with. There is not much information available on the disease. This is where Sarcoidosis Awareness of Northern California comes in. Their efforts to create a local support structure and promote education and awareness have been a blessing for people like myself.

Mission: Sarcoidosis Awareness of Northern California is a non-profit organization that provides support groups to patients, families, friends and caregivers through discussions of shared experiences and educational research, but more importantly, encouragement and assisting one another to cope with this disease.
Programs: Patient Assistance programs include assisting individuals that are uninsured under underinsured locate and obtain prescriptions for free or reduced rates if they meet the qualifications. Provide support groups for patients that are diagnosed with Sarcoidosis by providing educational materials, presentations by speakers.
