We were never really able to afford all the extra vaccines for all of our dogs. That’s an awful feeling. Then West Alabama Rescue started holding no cost vaccination events and vaccinated all of our dogs and everyone else’s who showed up. Not many rescues go the extra mile to help pet owners keep their babies and keep them healthy. This group is new and small but doing some mighty good in a world of bad.

This group saved my brothers dog. We were advised he would need euthanized and we wanted to try, they took her into temporary foster care and after a couple months working with Sierra, she was up and walking like she never missed a beat. Awesome group

I’ve known the lady who runs this Rescue most her adult life. Her love for animals of all kinds is above and beyond. I don’t think there’s a creature on this earth she wouldn’t help if possible. I can’t always donate a lot but I do donate because I know it is put to good use.

We were struggling in my family and were searching for a place to take in our 4 dogs. When we contacted West Alabama Rescue the owner called us back and asked if we would keep the dogs if they provided food and preventatives for them. We were overjoyed. Our heartbreak disappeared and now we are both working again and taking care of our babies and proud donors to WAR.

I’m a bottle baby foster. When I joined I was a little apprehensive but I quickly saw a fire in our leaders eyes and heart and I knew it was the right move. She showed up with everything I could possibly need. She told me any issues call her no matter the time. She has brought a group of strangers spread across Alabama together and made us all family. The work we do may sometimes end in sadness but deterrence doesn’t exist within our walls, we wipe our tears and we save the next. I love them all and am proud to be part of WAR.

Proud to be a part of this group. We are well taken care of as fosters and volunteers. We know no matter what happens or what time day or night if needed Dana will show up and go to work. I love being a part of WAR. It is rewarding in ways I could have never dreamed, and the people are the best you could ask for to make an amazing team.

Watched this group grow from day 1. They take on the cases others refuse. They help owners in need. And save the ones others won’t touch.

Our dog got ran over and we couldn’t afford the vet costs and these sweet people paid it in full and then took our dog in and got her back 100%. We absolutely support this group.

Great Rescue. They helped us through a hard set of times so we could keep our dogs and cat. The lady over it was so gracious and generous. Forever thankful.
