Mission: Orchestra Iowa is the state’s premier performing arts organization and is recognized as one of the top regional orchestras in the nation. Its 72 professional musicians perform more than 150 concerts each season.
Programs: Each year, the Orchestra offers a dynamic and diverse season of offerings including a five production main stage Symphonic Series performed at the newly restored Paramount Theatre and in Iowa City. A three production Ballet Series performed at the Paramount and at Davenport’s Adler Theatre. A three production Chamber Series performed at the new Opus Concert Café and the new Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Plus special presentations ranging from the season kick-off—Brucemorchestra! to the beloved Holiday Spectacular Christmas show. Orchestra Iowa musicians also perform educational concerts in every Cedar Rapids and Iowa City elementary school, as well as area libraries. The Orchestra serves the residents outside of the Corridor through its touring series and through broadcast performances on Iowa Public Radio and Iowa Public Television.
