Mission: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are ordinary people at least 21 years of age. No special or legal background is required. The CASAs are a child's voice in court. The work first, last, and always in the best interest of each child. CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge and receive training in courtroom procedure, effective advocacy techniques, special needs of children, and topics related to child abuse and neglect. Support and supervision are also provided for the volunteers. As a CASA, you become the eyes and ears of the judge. CASAs spend 10 to 15 hours a month providing advocacy for a child. What a CASA does may change a child's life forever.
Programs: Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who serve as independent court appointed advocates for children who are involved in court proceedings.
