Mission: PSNMF’s Mission is to generate financial support for the development of the Puget Sound Navy Museum’s (PSNM) educational, cultural and historical programs. While the Department of the Navy provides funding for personnel and day-to-day operations of PSNM, the Museum’s current federal budget does not fully fund its volunteer program, educational programs, or outreach efforts. PSNMF supports PSNM’s mission to “collect, preserve and interpret the naval heritage of the Pacific Northwest from 1841 to the present for the benefit of the U.S. Navy and people of the United States” and therefore works to provide additional financial support PSNM requires in order to achieve its mission.
I have been volunteering at Puget Sound Navy Museum Foundation for the past 19 years. It is a great experience knowing you are helping to preserving the rich Naval heritage here in the Northwest. When the children of the local schools tour the Museum it is gratifying to see their face light up when they learn how the US Navy has played an important role in keeping the freedoms our great country enjoys. The Foundation has been instrumental in providing the funds necessary to conduct an aggressive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the Bremerton area. It has been a pleasure to donate my time at Puget Sound Navy Museum Foundation.
