I worked with this agency after becoming homeless due to domestic violence. At the time I had a small dog I took everywhere with me who is quiet and well behaved. The first time I was there the director had brought his own dog into work with him, who barked at my dog. The advocate I had initially told me they had just received “a large grant” and they could “absolutely house” me in their housing. That advocate then texted me days later saying that she was leaving the agency and that her last day was 2 days away. She gave no reason. I was assigned a new advocate who told me if I got my doctor to write a letter saying my dog was an ESA, they could house me. I did this and my advocate was very excited and told me she would start the “housing process.” When you’re homeless and distraught having someone telling you this means EVERYTHING. Then days later she started telling me she was looking for shelters to place me. Confused, I asked why, since she had told me they could house me. After a lot of backpedaling she finally told me her director had “changed his mind” about housing clients with animals. There was no “I’m sorry” or “you have every right to be upset” but rather I was chastised for holding her to her word. Their director was the same man who brought his dog into the office with him the first day I was there getting help.<br>Every single time I went there, it wasn’t like other social agencies where there were lots of people there needing help. In fact I was the only one there every single time I went. This place is suspect. They get a large grant but then….. don’t help people? Where does that money go, then? Not sure who they help, but it’s not people with ESA’s. I never went back or worked with them again.

I tried to receive help for my two teens as we can not afford Christmas and have not been able to for many years. I was belittle by the person who runs this not -profit today because I did not have gas. I had to meet her on Monday but she never called me nor told me she could not meet me. She sent me nasty texts and told me she could not help my teens if I did not get help with my two younger children. I told her that the programs have not started sign up and Salvation Army is at their max sign up. She still said no. She was very rude and hung up on me too and said shame on me for wanting to get help for my two oldest and not my youngest. What is wrong with this lady? I hope his non profit gets shut down. She is totally rude and unprofessional and I would not want any other families to feel the way she made me feel.

I have been volunteering at Puget Sound Navy Museum Foundation for the past 19 years. It is a great experience knowing you are helping to preserving the rich Naval heritage here in the Northwest. When the children of the local schools tour the Museum it is gratifying to see their face light up when they learn how the US Navy has played an important role in keeping the freedoms our great country enjoys. The Foundation has been instrumental in providing the funds necessary to conduct an aggressive Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the Bremerton area. It has been a pleasure to donate my time at Puget Sound Navy Museum Foundation.

Currently in adulthood he is still struggling with fitting in and being a productive member of society. <br><br>This brings me back to Benefits Central where my son & I made an appointment to speak with Caryl Wolf she was amazing! For the first time in many years I felt like someone cared and was willing to help out. She was so compassionate and knowledgeable. She made my son feel at ease and understood his needs. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to get my son started with the help he needed to be successful! What an amazing person she is and great organization! The Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County share their resources to help the community, including the youngest to have a better life. It is a great community partner with the Bremerton Backpack Brigade ( a weekend feeding program for children). The Habitat provide a team of volunteers who help pack and deliver backpacks for elementary children at six schools in the community who face food insecurity. The Habitat Store also serves as a drop-off location for nonperishable food for the community. it is the only location that is available 6 days a week for donations. The Community is stronger because of relations that Habitat for Humanity has created through it volunteers and staff.

Seeds of Grace builds sustainable and organic gardens in impoverished neighborhoods around the world to feed God's Sheep. Teams of volunteers work together to build partnerships with organizations l I call to procure funds and materials. Another team puts it all together on a donated piece of land and yet another team maintains and harvests the crops and delivers them to a community partner that then distributes the produce to the less fortunate. This is done locally in Kitsap and Pierce counties so far, as well as in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Agape continues to help thousands of individuals and families charge their lives from drug/alcohol destruction to productive members of society. I hope people like you can help them continue the process. If you have ever done treatment there please write your own review.

Agape is an outstanding agency in the field of Chemical Dependency and Addiction Treatment. Even though it took me three attempts at treatment before I was ready to recover, Agape stuck with me throughout the entire experience. I took their education sessions, their specialty groups such as the men's spiritual growth, relapse prevention, and anger management. Agape also operates a Housing Program for homeless men and homeless women who need addiction treatment while learning valuable life and living skills, including getting along with others. I can't say enough good things about Agape Unlimited. They saved my life. Thank you Agape Unlimited.

FIRE 20/20 is helping fire and emergency services departments to increase the reach and effectiveness in multicultural and high-risk communities. Their programs are innovative and empowering for departments.

Healthy Start Kitsap got it's start from the Silverdale Rotary. A group within the Rotary met after seeing a local newspaper story of child abuse. The goal of Healthy Start Kitsap is to "prevent child abuse and neglect in Kitsap County. To find and cultivate programs toward this goal." The program that they are currently developing is Nurse Family Partnership. This is a nationally known program, 35 years old, in more than 400 locations in the US which operates a nurse home-visitation program by public health nurse. Through an extensive weekly home visitation program, they teach and work through education modules which help these new families in many ways. It is an empowerment program; not a giveaway.
