SeaShare does an amazing job securing donations of seafood and distributing to food banks to feed needy Americans. The company I work for is proud to be a part of the growing network of donors and service providers that make this program so successful. The staff at SeaShare are remarkably effective at what they do, making their overhead about as low as any non-profit can be, which means a large percentage of seafood, monetary or service donations go towards feeding people, not administrative overhead. By donating seafood, SeaShare also helps to promote consumption of the healthiest protein possible. I highly recommend to anyone that they consider helping out with this great cause.
SeaShare is a great organization which has been instrumental in providing lean healthy protein throughout Alaska.
Seashare is unique in its focus on seafood as a healthy source of protein for people who need food assistance. The organization is extremely effective in leveraging seafood industry partnerships, along with cash and service donations, to provide large quantities of seafood for hunger relief at very low cost.
I have been involved with SeaShare for approximately 20 years. The organization is run efficiently while achieving the goal of using all available resources for feeding those in need. Of all of the volunteer activities that I involve myself in, this one is the most fulfilling.
In addition to being a SeaShare Board Member I am also a volunteer, donor, Professional with expertise in the field, member of the general public, and advisor.

I am proud to serve as a Boardmember of Seashare. The work that SeaShare does in providing high-quality seafood meals to disadvantaged people and communities in various parts of the country is quite worthwhile. The North Pacific fishing associations and seafood companies that donate such products for distribution to those people and communities are to be congratulated on their
generous contributions.
I am retired, and have a limited amount that I can give to nonprofit organizations. We donate food from our garden locally, and when we can, donate to Seashare. The expertise and the willingness of the companies to help feed those in need the best protein for healthy meals is amazing. Every little bit helps, and I encourage anyone I know to donate to Seashare.
SeaShare has continued to support Food Bank of Alaska by providing much needed protein in the form of canned salmon. This product is distributed to FBA agencies serving villages and communities throughout Southcentral Alaska and the Matanuska Valley. At a time of reduced income from both government and traditional donation sources due to a sluggish economy the salmon provided by SeaShare is invaluable in trying to provide a balanced, healthy diet to our neoghbors in need. I am a food resource, freight and logistics person for the Food Bank of Alaska. FBA provides food assistance to food pantries all over the State of Alaska and distributes approximately 6,000,000 lbs of food to over 80,000 Alaskan each year. Seashare has been a wondeful help in providing much needed protein (other than peanut butter) to needy families all over Alaska. As much of the product is from Alaskan waters its culturally acceptable and meets a definite need, especially in rural Alaska, during the winter months. Working with Jim and Mary Harmon has been a very productive experience in obtaining, shipping and distributing these very valuable seafood commodities.
Sea Share is without a doubt the most efficient charity organization that I know about. I know that my donation dollars are spent doing the job instead of funding membership drives or political agendas.
For years, Seashare has provided seafood to hungry people across western Washington. With the economy as it is, there is a huge wave of need. Many of the people coming to food banks are normal people who have lost their job or are struggling to just make ends meet. It is awesome that Seashare is there for them, distributing hundreds of thousands of pounds of amazing food, (vital protein!) year after year. Food Lifeline is proud to work with Seashare in distributing these valuable seafood donations.
SeaShare is an irreplaceable partner to the food bank network. Food Lifeline distributes food to over 300 food banks in Western Washington and SeaShare sources donations for hundreds of thousands of pounds of high quality, nutritious seafood ever year. The relationships they have built with seafood companies are productive, personal, and incredibly beneficial to hungry people in the region. We could not provide the service and variety of food to our agencies without SeaShare.
SeaShare is the only non-profit working with the U.S. seafood industry to solicit donations of fish for hunger relief programs. The six Seattle-area seafood companies that I represent joined together more than a decade ago, pledging to provide one million fish meals a year to SeaShare's program. SeaShare partners with food agencies across the U.S. to get these protein-rich fish products efficiently distributed across the U.S. for food assistance.
