SeaShare is the only non-profit working with the U.S. seafood industry to solicit donations of fish for hunger relief programs. The six Seattle-area seafood companies that I represent joined together more than a decade ago, pledging to provide one million fish meals a year to SeaShare's program. SeaShare partners with food agencies across the U.S. to get these protein-rich fish products efficiently distributed across the U.S. for food assistance.

SeaShare's challenge is to corral support from a very fragmented U.S. seafood industry and to overcome the logistical challenges of moving seafood across the U.S. in a cost effective manner.
