Causes: Breast Cancer
Mission: PBH works to decrease breast cancer deaths through early detection such as mammograms and educational programs aimed at encouraging annual mammograms among women aged 40 and above. PBH provides no-cost screening mammograms, diagnostics mammograms and biopsies for uninsured people.
Results: Since 2016, PBH has provided educational outreach to more than 75,000 people. Since the inception of no-cost breast cancer screenings in 2022, PBH has helped more than 400 women.
Target demographics: decrease breast cancer deaths by increasing early detection through mammography
Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 150 women per year receive breast cancer screenings. We educated more than10,000 people about breast cancer screening.
Geographic areas served: the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle
Programs: no-cost mammograms, educational programs and breast cancer survivor support.
