we did not know what to do about my brother when he died doing his trucking job in a truck stop parking lot up in idaho. his company told us that we needed to be the ones to get his body home because they did not have to do it cause they gave him a life insurance policy. we had never heard of that. a friend of ours said to call truckers final mile and that they were the ones that take of these things for truckers. when we called we talked to robert and he took down our info ablout my brother and the funeral home we wanted to use here. just a couple hours or so later and he called us back and he said they would be wotking with the funeral home and the one in idaho and that he would call us back the next day. the next day he did and told us the charity would be taking care of what needed to be done and by the time we had the services scheduled the charity had taken care of those costs. we never knew this service existed and dont know how we would have gotten my brother home. i give them five stars for there great work.
haveing this service available for truckers is a great idea. we lost our brother out on the interstate in utah and his company said to call truckers final mile. it took a while to get it done because of the circumstannces of the crash my brother was in but once we got all the information to the funeral home it didnt take long at all really and we really appreciate everything they did for us and we reccommend them
The day after I posted this review, the charity sent the remaining funds. Whatever the reasons were for the long delay, stepping up and making it right goes a long way in my book. Thank you, TFM.
Unfortunately, we did not have the same stellar experience with this charity as others have reported. My brother-in-law died unexpectedly on the road at the end of February. We knew about the charity through him and called within days of his passing. We had to get his body from the Miami area (he was under a load) to the Memphis area. We were told by the head of the charity (since I'm not supposed to mention names) that they would cover around $3816, which was about half the total cost to pay the funeral homes on both sides and transportation. It is now 7 months later, and we are still waiting for all but $816 of this money, which was eventually sent about 2-3 months after his passing. My husband and I have reached out to the gentleman who runs the charity SO MANY times over the months, via email, text and phone calls, but would never get a reply unless we happened to catch him unexpectedly by phone. Each time we were actually able to talk to him, we were told to be patient, that the money was coming, that donors were doing their thing as we speak and that we were at the "top of the list". Needless to say, we have given up on ever getting this money. I appreciate that this is a charity, and that they don't OWE us anything, but we made financial decisions and put ourselves into credit card debt based on the promise of these funds. The charity website even has my brother-in-law's story and picture and has misrepresented what he actually did for us. Not to mention that he has clearly helped several families since, so I guess we weren't at the "top of the list" after all. At the end of the day, it's about integrity and doing what you say you're going to do. I would rather he just said to us at some point that this is all he could do for us and to leave him alone, as opposed to ducking and dodging us and making promises for half a year that he clearly has no intention of keeping. The whole experience has been very frustrating. Trucker's Final Mile, do better!
My nightmare came true back in May when I got the call from a trooper the my soulmate had been killed in a rollover crash up in New York. I had no idea what to do to get him home to be buried. The company he worked for gave me the run around cause they were not sure how his insurance would handle it and I was put on hold or transferred to safety and hr and other people in the office. After three days I still had no clue what was going on to get him home. I talked to a fried and she recommended I call truckers final mile. By the end of the day, Robert had guided me through the process of finding a funeral home near me and through that funeral home had set up another funeral home where Gary had died and had him picked up from the medical examiners office. He helped me through the release process and our funeral home helped me file all the information for the death certificates. All of the costs to get him home to us was paid by truckers final mile. What a blessing that was because we still have not heard back from his company. I would recommend truckers final mile and would especially encourage everyone to donate because this is very costly to get someone home especially when they are several states away when it happens. Thank you to Robert and the team at truckers final mile for the gift they gave to our family in our worst time.
this is likely one of the most under appreciated charities in the trucking industry hands down. one of their programs is to supply a tarnished worn American flag to be placed with a military veteran during a cremation process. this is such a honorable thing to do. I dont know any other organization that would do this for our veterans that defended our flag before becomming truck drivers. truckersfinalmile alway will have my support for programs like this.
Hello, I am trying to reach out to Robert Palm. Can someone provide me with his contact information or an alternate number to reach him. Here's what I have but none of this information is working for me.

My husband died of a pulmonary embolism while trucking in Utah, we live in Michigan. Robert said he would help cover the cost of preparation and travel to bring my husband home. Three months later, he is still saying next week, next week never comes.
This charity helped bring my brother n law home when he died in Arizona. We live in Indiana and my sister was devestated and did not no what to do and someone on our page said to contact this site and when we did they took care of all the costs to bring him home. Our family is very gratefull that this charity exists.
We had no idea what it would take to get Freddy home after we were told he had died in his truck in a truck stop parking lot in south Utah. We live in a small town in Tennessee. Freddy had been trucking most of his life but had just signed on with a new company so his benefits had not kicked in yet. The company told us there was this charity and so we left a message on their website contact page. Within two hours, a gentleman named Robert called us and explained the logistics of how to proceed and he asked us some basic information about Freddy and the funeral home we wanted to have Freddy brought to. Once we responded with the information, he contacted the funeral home, and the one in Utah and then contacted us back and said that they would be assisting with the cost to get Freddy home to us. We were in shock that this was going to happen. We had no funds available and this organization was going to get it done for us. Mr. Robert was very professional and kept us informed on everything and schedules. This took a great weight off of our shoulders. Especially Mom. She was so stressed over Freddy and truckersfinalmile made things a bit easier for us. We want to thank them, and especially everyone that donates to them, so that they can help familys like us. A great organization.
On February 6, 2024, a devastating event unfolded in our lives as my brother Abdirahim Awabdi tragically passed away in his truck at a small-town truck stop in New Mexico. Living in Columbus, Ohio, and faced with the overwhelming shock and grief, I found myself in a parking lot, grappling with the profound sense of loss and confusion. In this disorienting moment, I turned to a Google search in desperate pursuit of assistance, and it was then that I stumbled upon the Truckers Last Mile website.
Nervously, I entered their website, and with a trembling hand, I dialed their number. To my immense relief, a compassionate and understanding gentleman named Robert Palm answered the call. Overwhelmed with emotion and still processing the heart-wrenching news, I struggled to articulate the situation. Mr. Palm, displaying an extraordinary level of empathy, patiently allowed me the time I needed until I could gather myself to share the details.
After exchanging necessary information, Mr. Palm went above and beyond by taking the initiative to connect with the funeral home in New Mexico, where arrangements were being made to transport my brother's body to Columbus, Ohio. Remarkably, Truckers Last Mile assumed all associated expenses, including travel costs, ensuring a seamless and dignified journey for my brother's final return home.
Mr. Palm's unwavering support did not end there. He maintained regular communication with me, providing updates and reassurance until my brother's body safely arrived. In our darkest hour, Truckers Last Mile became a beacon of light and a true gift from above to our grieving family. Their boundless generosity and compassionate assistance during this time have left an indelible mark on our hearts, for which we will be eternally grateful.
Thank you truckersfinalmile! What you do for families is beyond amazing words can’t express the gratitude myself and family have for this organization! With the support of your organization my family was to lay my brother Christian P to rest. Thank you for all that you do to help families out there in need!
My brother who was a long haul driver, passed away in Arvada, CO. It was a complete shock and unexpected to myself and his son, We had no idea how to get him back to Ogden, UT. The company he worked for did not offer any help financial or otherwise and we absolutely no funds available as my brother did not have life insurance or any other money put away for emergencies.
I contacted Robert with Truckers Final Mile and explained our situation. He graciously sent us a donation to help cover the travel costs, and also donated money for us to spend the final night in a better hotel, than what we could budgeted for during the 4 days we were in CO.. My nephew and I will forever be so grateful for the help we received. It lessened our financial burden in getting my brother back home to us.
TFM is a godsend!! Robert goes above the call to offer assistance , not only financial but emotionally as well to our Truckers families who are in need. TFM was truly a blessing in our time of need.
On July 21, 2023, I received the worst news of my entire life. I live in PA, and the call came from a CT State Trooper. When he spoke the words "....your husband succumbed to his injuries...." I thought it was some sort of SCAM. I demanded to know the license plate number, make, model and color of the tractor. My heart was broken. My life destroyed. My husband, Ray had been driving truck for over 35 years! He was only 56 years old. My high school sweetheart, we had just celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary. He was on his way home for a family event the following day, and he wanted to get home to spend some time with our first grandchild who was only 18 months old.
When the dust began to settle, and I had to start picking up pieces, making plans, and making decisions, a dear friend told me about truckersfinalmile.org. She had heard about it online.
I called, and I was surprised that Mr. Palm answered the phone himself. I gave him my details. He was so compassionate. I don't really recall exactly how it all proceeded. We exchanged phone numbers, email addresses. He told me the information he would need to verify the details.
My husband was the only source of income to our family. I was a stay at home Mom to our 4 children (ages 32 through 19) during our marriage. The financial assistance that truckersfinalmile provided was a gift beyond belief. They reimbursed transportation of my husband's body from CT to PA, embalming, several copies of the death certificate, and I can't recall what else. The funeral director was so impressed by the program, that he wants to advertise it on his website. Over $2100 was reimbursed to me, sent directly to the funeral home.
I am forever grateful for this financial assistance that Mr. Palm provided through truckersfinalmile.org. It's a wonderful program, for something that isn't even thought about. When I began reading the testimonials, I was overwhelmed. We just never thought that my husband would be killed in his truck. He was "invincible" in his truck.
We are still dealing with so much since my beloved husband's death. Truckersfinalmile made it a little easier.
Thank you.
I had 17 years with Brad. He was a dedicated trucker from day one. On July 1, 2023 my whole world was devastated. Home was Somerville Alabama. A sheriff's deputy came to my door on that very morning with the most traumatic news and I was given a number of a lieutenant in Minden Louisiana and was told to contact him. I was nowhere near prepared to be told my husband had been found deceased. Brad was the sole provider for our household since I have some health problems that don’t allow me a full time job. Brad was due home that next weekend. Due to financial difficulties, we had not seen Brad since end of March, my daughter’s birthday. I didn’t expect anyone to understand, but I had to see him. I absolutely could not see him one last time as a box of ashes. My oldest brother,, who is also a trucker, reached out to me and gave me the name of this organization hoping they could be of some help. I immediately sent an email and received a response the very next morning requesting some information and then said they would help get my husband home to be put to rest. The cost of transport is quite a bit, so it did take some time to get the funds together, but Brad was brought home. I had no idea whether I was coming or going, much less how I’d get this all taken care of. Robert, which is the one I corresponded with, went above and way beyond what I could’ve ever expected and I’ll forever be grateful that this organization lifted a tremendous financial burden. I’ll forever be grateful. May God bless the warriors of the road and keep them all safe.
This charity was an immense help to family during this extremely hard time. They were able to get my Dad from El Paso Texas all the way to Georgia. We are extremely blessed and grateful for truckers final mile. It also helps knowing that there are people out there that truly care for hardworking people like my father who spent 6 days a week for 25 years driving. Truly grateful.
Thank you so much to Truckersfinalmile for helping my three adult children during an extremely difficult and unexpected time in their lives. Their Dad passed away while delivering a load to Fort Worth TX from North Dakota. Truckersfinalmile helped with the expenses associated with bringing him back home. Their kindness and generosity speaks volumes to the tie between the family of truckers out there watching out for each other and their families!
truckersfinalmile is a known veteran founded charity. As a vital resource for the individual truck driver behind the wheel and their family at home when tragedy strikes, truckersfinalmile is the leader in loss and casualty logistics in the trucking industry.
Providing cost assistance of transporting a deceased trucker from across state lines, help in getting a severely injured or medically incapacitated driver home, helping with mobility improvements at a drivers home, providing transportation expense should a tragedy befall a household member or the home,
assisting with grief counseling and more truckersfinalmile is indeed a worthy organization.
Consider sponsoring, offering a corporate donation, or make a tax deductible donation in any amount.
I have known of this amazing non profit charity for several years now. Have met Robert Palm in person a few times and to say he is a godsend to those families in need to get their loved one back home when the company they worked for does nothing doesn't begin to explain how Robert Palm truly is. Everything he does for the truckers out on the road away from home is beyond words. From getting the drivers back to their families to be laid to rest to also doing toys for the kids who have lost their parent that was a trucker to helping out with medical ramps so an injured driver can get into their own home while they recover from serious injuries amongst other things this organization does for the drivers and their families. There isn't any one or more word that describes this organization to give it its just deserve. It's sad that a charity like this is needed but am so grateful it does exist. Thank you beyond words Robert Palm for doing what you do and starting the truckersfinalmile.org charity!!!!!!
Truckersfinalmile does what the companies don’t do. They bring your loved one home. My husband was an OTR trucker for 30+ years. He was in Texas waiting for his load back home in Iowa. He got loaded, talked to him on a Friday not knowing it was the last time. He was missing all weekend, found on Monday in Waco Texas in the cab of his truck. Only way to get him home was cremation or a body bag that could not be opened due to condition of his body. Do you have any idea the cost of this???? Well truckersfinalmile does and that’s what they do to get your loved one home. This is an outstanding, caring nonprofit organization. Please donate to help them so they can continue to help our truckers and their families.
truckersfinalmile.org, having helped over 500 families reunite with their fallen loved one has to be the most necessary resource for the trucking industry. Everything in this world is moved by truckers, yet in the US it would seem at times the people that make those wheels turn are the last to be thought of. Having no laws, regulations, or mandates requiring companies to get that driver home when they pass away out on the road, truckersfinalmile is there to fill the gap. The government should make this charity no longer needed. The trucking industry and its governing bodies should make this charity, unnecessary. Along with the other programs offered, truckersfinalmile is the easiest charity to support. My money goes to help people. Not line the pockets of any person or corporation. What they do is unmatched. The help and relief they offer to grieving families is more than commendable. If only more people had the heart that the people from truckersfinalmile do.
truckersfinalmile is a necessary and wonderful organization helping the families of truck drivers that have passed away, became severely injured, or had major medical issues out on the road away from home. Robert, an Army veteran, founded this organization back in May 2014 and has helped pay the costs to help get nearly 600 truck drivers home to their family, the majority of them to be laid to rest.
Please take a minute to check out their website and consider the impact this organization has had on this industry. Thank you.
Truckersfinalmile.org is a Godsend. I fell off my truck in Sept. 2022. Not only do I attempt at fund raising for this charity, but I found myself in need of Utilizing one of the Benefits that Robert Palm offers with this charity. My wife had to drive 70 miles a day each way to the hospital when I broke 4 ribs and displaced 3 of the 4. We were out of cash waiting for Workers Comp to kick in with me injured and he helped pay for the gas for 5 days to and from the hospital.
100% non profit. Every penny goes into helping drivers in need. Everyone involved in the charity is a volunteer.
I am a proud donor to Truckers Final Mile. Thank you for taking care of our terrific truckers. Without truckers, this country can not survive without them. Thank you for supporting them and their families in their time of need. This is D&D Transport Refrigeration Inc.
This is a great unique charity. It helps where the trucking industry leaves us drivers short. With its rolling memorial to us drivers and veterans who become truck drivers. The CEO Robert Palm is an angel among us, always gets the job done.
The Only Trucking Charity that gets drivers left behind when they pass away 100's or 1000's of miles from home A True Non Profit which is virtually unheard of in the charity world you will not find a person with a bigger heart who cares for people he don't even know Than Robert Palm Founder of This Great Non Profit

A new job and a new beginning we thought. Then I got a phone call telling me they found him dead in his sleeper out in Utah. I had just talked with him last night. A friend said I should call truckersfinalmile to get him back here to Arkansas. Robert answered the phone and explained how the process would work with funeral home here in Arkansas and one in Utah that would pick him up and get him ready to fly home. I had no idea what was involved because I had never been through this before. Once I had told Robert what funeral home I wanted to use here he contacted them and truckersfinalmile paid all the costs to get my baby home. Thank you so much for all the sponsors and donors that keep this great organization. I dont know where I would be without them.
We never thought this would happen. So sudden and unexpected. What was worse is that Jimmy's company would only refer us to truckers final mile. We spoke to Robert and he explained the entire process to us and also explained options and worked with the funeral homes and was very professional and took a great burden off of the family and was very professional. We as a family can not say enough thanks for helping us get our Jimmy home. our family will now start donating so that we can now help other truckers when this happens.. We will always be thankfull for truckersfinalmile and for Robert and for all the work they did for our family and for everyone that keeps a charity like this going and for all the work they do for familys.
Our family is having the same issue as the family below. My Uncle Joe passed in June. They were great in the beginning and so helpful. The funeral home made arrangements with this company. Our family was left paying out of pocket for the difference. Here we are almost 2 months later and the funeral home still has not received a single payment from Truckers Final Mile.
They need to stop making agreements that they cannot keep. And then bragging on their page about helping when in turn they are only causing more stress for the families as time goes on!
Very disappointed with this organization.
Some recommend this organization for truckers. My husband passed away over the road. This organization talked To the funeral home to make sure My husband got home, they went on the word of Faith. They have not paid one dime to the funeral home. Until this day. They have not paid anything to the funeral home. I wouldn't recommend this count needed an old one because if they're doing all this fun raising, and they're advertising, and these truck stops, they are picking and choosing who they pay for my husband has been going almost 6 months, trucker's final mile has not paid the bill. The guy gives the same old. Story, they're waiting for their bank to get clear. They're doing fun razors many more people have passed away. After my husband passed, he keeps posting and advertising. People's loved ones that they brought them home. Which they did not, this company is a joke.
I never had to deal with this and had no where and no one to turn to for help. My husband died in a tractor-trailer crash and I got the phone call yes a phone call from the higway patrol late Saturday. Once I got myself back together I tried calling his company for help. But no responce to my call. But it was memorial day weekend. Frustrated a friend said call truckersfinalmile. I was so disheveled I didnt realize it was 7am on a Sunday. A gentleman named Robert answered. He listened as Cried through giving him the informated he needed to get the process startedand told me to get a cup of tea and some rest. This compassionateman called me back at noon monday like he said he would and had spoken to our funeral home and the one in merced where my husband was. He told me that their donors would get the job done. And they did! All the costs to bring the love of my life back home to me were paid in full. I can not express the kindness and caring I got from complete strangers. My baby always said truckers were like family and Robert and his team proved that. Such a outstanding organization. Tabitha
On June 8th 2022 I lost my best friend, soulmate and husband Paul P Kasselder to a massive heart attack while unloading cattle in Walden,Co! I love and miss him everyday!Rest in Peace my Love! At this time I had not a clue of what to do!Trucker friends of ours referred me to Truckers Final Mile and I spoke to Robert. Robert didn’t even hesitate to help me! Robert was my angel and was able to get my husband back to me in Nebraska! Please donate to this wonderful organization because they have a special place in my heart and they help truckers when truckers need them at the worst time of their and their families life! Please Donate. Thank You❤️ Vicky D Kasselder
Truckers final mile helped me get my son home to TX from GA, when he passed. The burden that lifted from our shoulders was great. Thank you Robert, your organization was truly a godsend in a difficult situation.
My father died unexpectedly in his tractor Trailor across the country and with the amount of shock I was in I had no idea where to even start to get him home to be laid to rest. Robert and truckers final mile helped me do just that. I can’t even begin to thank them for what they did for our family. I’m addition to financially helping Robert checked in on me and kept in constant contact with us throughout the process to make sure I was ok. Robert and truckers final mile are truly amazing.
Truckersfinalmile.org came as a blessing to our family in the last miles my fathers made when he passed away and we had to get his remains back home to us. We don't know what we would have done with out their help. A simple Thank you doesn't cover it.
The Chase Family
I didn’t know Pissedofftrucker but I’m an Alabama driver and felt it was the least I could do to donate a little to help his family God Bless
I called Truckers Final Run when my son who is a trucker driver and veteran had to have an emergency amputation of his leg. We needed resources to bring him home from another state as well as get him a handicap ramp built. Robert was so caring’s and supportive they stepped in and paid for our hotels and transportation to pick him up and back in addition they paid for the materials for the ramp. We are so grateful and thankful for this organization and what they have done for our family.
Robert and the partners at Truckers Final Mile were so generous and kind to arrange everything to bring my nephew’s remains home from New Jersey to Alabama when he died on the job. Words can't explain what it means that they lifted our burden at such a difficult time. We are grateful for the kindness and for the wonderful service Truckers Final Mile does helping families and truckers in need. M. Williams
It is never if for Truckers it is a when.
When my friend passed away as with so many families in trucking, living pay check to pay check is how it is.
When the call came, we were in shock. How are we to know how to get our drivers home from 1000's of miles away?
I reached out to Truckersfinalmile.org, and I felt we were in good hands.
Daryn was in NM, and his family is in Iowa. TFM paid for this trucker to go home to his family. The process was easy and easy for the family.
Daryn LOVED the job. He loved his family.
I can't express how grateful we are for this organization. So, I set up a fundraising event. Even though most don't understand how hard it has been, I really want other families to have this option for the when.
Robert gave this family peace.
Thank you.
Thank you to every trucking family around the world. Doing the job requires the whole family. The fact is we all need trucks and truckers.
No man left behind.
Until every company recognizes and takes action, the family suffers the financial burden. The simple insurance policy that some companies have on each driver is only 10k. (Company paid)
Every driver deserves this as a benefit. EVERY DRIVER everywhere. Because no family should be left in confusion and worry.
Rest easy, my friend. We will shoot the
Bull again someday.
I want to give Robert at final mile the highest respect because he help my family through such a difficult time and without a whole bunch of hoops to jump through he came through like a champ for me and my family.
My son zara was an over the road truck driver and he was 45 years old and ambitious in his career as a truck driver. Of course if you’re ambitious the sky is the limit as some would say, but he wouldn’t be able to to see his ambition manifested cause he would come in contact with the Covid-19. He did not survive it and pasted on December 7, 2021
He didn’t pass at home he didn’t pass close to his family he passed almost 1800 miles away from home and of course the pandemic wouldn’t even allow us as family to visit him even if we were able to get to Kentucky cause you see we live in Arizona and my son lived in California which made it even more so burdensome on us and that’s where truckers Final Mile came into affect.
I knew someone that told me that he knew of an organization that if an over the road truck driver was the past and they die not his home state this organization would help to Bear some of the cost of shipping their body back to their home state. Well I never heard of such a thing so I really didn’t put much stock into it at the time because my feelings and emotions was all over everywhere I just wanted my son home, but this friend of mine made all the calls and made the connection with Robert a representative of truckers Final Mile nonprofit.
I was told that all I would need to do is provide Robert with the final bill for the transportation for my son to be shipped back to California to his residence and it was just that simple.
The very day that I provided Robert with a detailed cost from the mortuary and the airline Robert made sure that day that it was paid for in full.
I never ever would’ve thought that I would need a service like that for myself or anyone else but if you find yourself in a need of a service such as that I would highly recommend the truckers Final Mile charity.
I can say a lot more about this organization but I would rather donate to the cause. My donation is forthcoming what a wonderful Cause.
Thanks Final Mile,
Zara Nelson
Truckers Final Mile helped me get my dad home from Colorado to Kentucky after we suddenly and tragically lost him this summer. It was the absolute most difficult time of my life but I sincerely looked forward to talking to the founder, Robert who just let me cry and cry to him -- all while he was making plans to take care of what it cost to get my dad home to us. His kindness and empathy meant so much to me. What was such a transitional, stressful time for my family was made easy (partially, at leas) by Truckers Final Mile because we didn't have to worry how we were bringing him home. No one tells you how costly it is to handle someone's death on top of dealing with your loss and heartache. I thank Robert and Truckers Final Mile for everything they do because the work they're doing is so essential to truckers' and their families lives. We need more people in the world like them.
This charity does so much for the unsung heroes of the highway. I was unable to get husband when he was hospitalized a few years ago with emergency surgery, they were able to help get him home and were absolutely wonderful to work with. Doctors really dont think of the families at home hundreds of miles away and how this will affect them with a 3am call and not very much information. Robert was able to help me find what hospital he was at. I knew the city, just not the hospital. The hospital had the truck and load towed away. he was able to get off the freeway and to the emergency room. once he recovered they were able to help him get back to his truck. very amazing people!!
truckersfinalmile does one of the most important jobs in the trucking industry. A top notch vital resource for trucking families.
Through the nightmare that is on going from losing my dad tragically in New Mexico when another Semi hit him head on on the I-40, Truckers Finale Mile has been the best thing that has come out of New Mexico!
They helped us to get him cremated (the wreck was so bad that we had no choice), the paperwork and finally the transportation of the remains home to us in Southern Utah.
I come from a family of trucking and until my dad was killed needlessly, we had no idea this wonderful non-profit was out there. I've let all my family and friends who are in the industry know about it! I hope they never have to use it, but if so they won't be disappointed of the service and care that is given in a very difficult time.
We still are very emotional when we talk about all the help we received and Truckers Final Mile is always at the top.
Bless Robert and Truckers Final Mile organization!!
My daughters 18 and 16 lost their dad this past summer. He was found deceased in his truck in Salt Lake City, Utah. I reached out to this company in hopes for a little assistance but not knowing the company, i didn't expect anything. I reached out and got an e-mail back right away with a list of about 6-10 questions. Filled it out, told our story, and sent in a photo. Truckers Final Mile said they were paying everything in full. Not only that they let my daughters each pick out their own Urns. Truckers Final Mile was a dream come true for our family. My family and friends will always share this link to social media for donations. Hopefully we can help aide another family going through this nightmare. Thank you Truckers Final Mile!
Without the help of donations to truckersfinalmile.org, we don't know how we could have gotten our son home. Thank you truckersfinalmile.org and all those that donated! Stephen Owens, 36 yrs old passed away July 28, 2021 while waiting for his load to be unloaded in Wisconsin. His home is in Florida.
Without help from Robert and truckers final mile. Helping me pay the funeral homes cost to get my husband home it would have put me in a big financial mess! So thank you my husband is home with me now
A very special thank you to Robert and truckers final mile. My husband passed away on August 6, 2021 of a heart attack he was in California and I was here in Texas unfortunately we did not have burial insurance I had no idea how I was going to bury him and get him home someone told me about truckers final mile. I called Mr. Robert and he got right on it I just want to say thank you so much Mr. Robert for all that you did for my family and I had to get Marvin home he is truly missed God was ready for him but my heart wasn’t. Thanks Again to Mr. Robert andTruckers final mile.
We lost my father while he was trucking in Georgia, Robert and truckers final mile was the first sign of hope our family had after 6 days of trying to figure out how to get my fathers remains home. After the first time speaking with Robert I could feel a sense of relief. I can’t thank this organization enough for all the help in getting my dads remains back to Idaho. I don’t know what we would have done with out this company. Robert even checked in on us in between waiting for information to go through. The comments we received on the fb page ment so much to our family. We will never forget the help we received or the love and support. We also thank every single person, sponsor and donor who are involved in this organization. Losing a family member in another state is not something I ever even considered until we found ourselves in this situation.
We are truly grateful and amazed of what truckers last mile has done for our Son and family. Our Son was involved in a tragic truck accident while he was on the job in New Mexico and was called home to God. I started to call funeral places in New Mexico and was astonished at the cost just to get him home. I received information from my Dad's friend about truckers last mile. I spoke to the Founder Robert Palm who was so gracious and consoling to our family. He told me, "we are family Raul and that we are going to help you get your son home." When I spoke to the funeral home in New Mexico a couple of weeks later they said everything had been paid for by truckers last mile. We could not believe it and we were so blown away at their generous gift to our family. We are truly grateful for this non-profit organization. I told Robert thank you so much and that words cannot express our gratitude. I'm forever touched by them and I have become a lifetime donor. Also to, I recently received a $500 hundred dollar investment fund from the company benefiting our Grandaughter. I can't thank truckers last mile enough!
They really helped my family in the time of need. My sister husband passed away in California and we need to get him home to Michigan. They stepped up and help us make it happen. I can not thank them enough for helping my family. They also only contact me so my sister didn’t have to deal with everything. I really definitely get the word out about this organization. Thank you so much.
I was hospitalized in California for 4 months with diverticulitis. Between truckers final mile and Robert Palm and John Scism they checked with y friend every day. I made it threw 7 surgeries and had to learn to walk again. Robert and Truckers final mile was right there with me thru it. Thank you Robert
Truckers Final Mile was a blessing to our family in our time of need. My dad recently passed away while on the road and Truckers Final Mile helped us get him home quickly. We are so very grateful to this organization for their care and concern for truckers and their families.
The only thing that I could possibly find fault with is organization is that there isn't a 10 star review option.
When our son passed in New Mexico on Sept 14 2020 we had no idea what to do to get him home. Truckersfinalmile was a Godsend. This organization stepped up immediately, cut through red tape, made sure all bases were covered, and flew our baby home. There are no words to express our appreciation... Thank you isn't enough. We lost a son, but found that there are still loving and caring people out there. Robert and staff...we salute you.
My father in law, John Robinson passed away in his rig July 13th and was found on the 15th at a Pilot in Hampton New Jersey of a heart attack.
This organization was the reason we were able to bring John home. They were kind, generous, and quick. They just needed a few questions asked and they were already on the phone with our funeral home.
Losing John over the road was traumatic for the entire family but the support from truckers final mile made it a little easier to bare. I would recommend this organization to anyone anytime who has a big rig driving family. Thank you so much.
My father was found deceased in his rig on july 13th in Barstow California at a Loves truckstop along with his faithful companion dog AL by his this amazing organization helped to track down where AL waa taken after the coroner took my father away and they helped to have AL cremated and shipped to me so i could bury him with my father and they also did everything they could to help assist in bringing my father home. They have also reached out often offering words of support and encouragement and condolences. They are definitely an amazing organization and one that i have donated to and will gladly donate to again in the future and i would highly recommend and have recommended to people to donate to.
William J. Adkins was born on 1.31.59. He went home on 6.18.2020 while in Phoenix, AZ. He has been a truck driver most of his life. He loved being behind the wheel. On June 12th he had a cardic arrest and was taken to the hospital. He then was put on life support for 6 days. He was taken off life support on 6.17.2020 and passed on 6.18.2020 at 0644.
The truckersfinalmile.org was contacted by my dad's employer. This organization is amazing. They helped with the travel expenses to get my dad by to his family in Oklahoma.
I am Amanda; the daughter of William. I have been able to help raise money for this organization to help other trucker who have suffered from a illness, and who has passed to get back to thier loved ones. If you have a loved one who is a truck driver please consider donating to this organization. I know I will be give to them. They gave us so much. Thank you again!! God bless you all.
My dad passed away unexpectedly on January 11th in Washington state. Our family didn't have the means to get Dad home to Wisconsin, so we reached out to truckers final mile. They shared dad's story, and dad was able to be home within a few days for his funeral. Because of the generosity and kindness of this organization, a difficult time for my family was made a bit easier. Not only through monetary means, but words of sympathy, prayers, and love from followers of truckers final mile. This is a wonderful organization that I believe in, and will support any time I can! Anyone reading this, please help out our fellow truckers and their families by donating, or simply leaving kind words of encouragement. As I said...it helped us get through, other families may need it too. THANK YOU to truckers final mile!!
this organization was / is wonderful. The death of my son while on the road was shocking, painful and totally unexpected. Truckers ( as I have come up call them) was gentle with their guidance. Very professional and basically held my hand as I walked through this trauma. Every email, every phone call, every post I made to Robert was answered in very short order. As busy as he was he never rushed me through anything. He took charge of what was needed. God bless this organization, God bless this man.
I am proud to be a board member of Truickersfinalmile.org. This charity really helps the Trucking community in. many ways in the time of family crisis. Back in October last year I was driving my truck in California when the road on state hwy 58 was flooded real bad. My truck was totally washed away in mud and would needed to be in the shop for three to five weeks for repairs from so much mud and water damage. I called and Robert said they would see what they could do to help and in like one hour he had a taxi at the church where me and some other people had to be exvacuated to and after that got me a bus ticket home to Amarillo. I did not know what I would have done cause I had no paycheck that week and I had no money to get home while I waited on my truck repair and no where to go and it was real good what Robert did for me to get home.
Early one morning a state trooper rang my doorbell with the worst news ever, my 27 year old son killed in an accident while In Texas. I was paralyzed with disbelief. We didn’t know what to do, until someone told us about truckersfinalmile.
Mr. Robert Palm answered the phone and helped us get our son home to Florida ...... no hassle.... no back and forth........he was so kind and reassuring. I don’t know what we would have done without him and this organization.
My family want to say THANK YOU again from the bottom of our hearts may God continue to bless you and everyone that has suffered a loss.
While on the phone with Harold, my husband of 24 years, he had a massive heart attack while he was on the road in Meridian, Mississippi. I didn’t know who to call, because I didn’t have any money to bring him home, and the insurance he had was not a policy that would promise any repayment to the funeral home that would handle his arrangements. I thank God for Truckers Final Mile and Robert. He told my husband’s story on the website to their network of truckers, and got in contact with the funeral home so I could bring Harold back to be laid to rest, and help our family have some peace of mind throughout this ordeal. I now donate to this organization, and I am planning to have a fundraiser every year for them on Harold’s Birthday in his honor. I would recommend this organization many times over.
My dad unexpectantly died while driving trucks in California. He died in the hospital a few days after checking himself in. This hit us like a train because we didn't know that he had a heart infection and it was too late to save him. We live in Arkansas and we knew that transporting his body back home was going to be a struggle on top of everything else. I'm a college student so there wasn't much I could do financially to help my mama cover the expenses of the funeral and everything in between. I stayed up all night trying to find an organization to help us in this time of grief. I came across the truckers final mile organization and sent Mr. Robert Palm an email explaining our situation. Where most organizations took days to contact me back, I got a response from Mr. Robert a few hours later that night. The next day he called to express his condolences and that he would do his best to raise money for us to fly his body home. He called almost every day to update us on his progress and to ensure us that he would do the best he could to help my family and me. A week later the funeral director informed us that Mr. Robert's organization covered a great amount of the traveling expenses. We are forever grateful for this organization for helping us during one of the hardest moment of our lives. No words can describe how blessed my family and I feel after receiving this help. I definitely recommend this nonprofit organization for truckers and their families during times of need! If I could give a rating higher than a five, I definitely would.
This organization was amazing in a very difficult time. Something that people do not think about often is what happens when a loved one passes while working as a long-haul trucker. I know my family hadn't.
If it were not for Robert and his amazing team, we would have been lost. My father passed while trucking in Wisconsin, we are from Canada. Not only were we dealing with this sudden news, but the unexpected costs of him passing in the USA. Trying to figure out insurance policies and procedures was a hassle (it usually is), but Robert and his team took care of all the details in the mean time. They looked into funeral homes, cremation options and took care of all the little fees that needed to be done.
If it were not for truckersfinalmile.org, the process of repatriating my fathers remains would not have been possible and for that were are incredibly grateful.
Would highly recommend any support to this organization, as the relief it provides families when you don't think you have any options is incredible.
Without this organization I don't know what my family and I would have done. My father in law was from Indiana and passed away in TN after a stroke. He had been a truck driver for 40+ years. He had no health or life insurance and had been in the hospital for over a week after aassive stroke. My husband and his brother were responsible for the cost of getting him home and the burial. There was no insurance, no estate, nothing to help us. Out of desperation, hope and prayer, I reached out to truckersfinalmile.org. I sent an all explaining our situation and wanting to get my father in law home and I think it was the next day that they called and explained how everything works. The next few days were hectic, trying to contact everyone, plan his burial, come up with the money for it and also trying to figure out how we would get him back home to us. I was literally sitting in my car at the funeral home feeling very defeated when my phone rang. I couldn't even believe what I was hearing. Truckersfinmile.org was covering the cost of getting him home! I had been so busy and worried that I hadn't had time to let myself cry. Hearing the kindness of what this organization did for us, the gratitude that I felt, it was the first time I cried since he had passed. I will never forget what they did for us and will be grateful for the rest of my life. I can never thank them enough.
There isn't enough words in this world to describe what an awesome job Robert and this wonderful organization did for my late husband and me. We drove team for 12 years and shared many amazing memories of this beautiful county and many foreign countries too.
Then on Friday July 13, 2018 while we were at a truck stop in California, my husband passed away the same way his father did, at peace, enjoying life and in his truck. He left behind many broken hearts and friends that just couldn't believe he was gone. At the age of 53 he never thought it would happen to him because he was so young. Yes we did talk about the what if's but never about the what if it happened on the road.
That faithful morning he left me with no life insurance and very little savings. I had some wonderful friends that took over helping me and making sure that I was okay. One of my friends suggested that I contact "Truckers Final Mile" to see if there was anything they could do to help me. I emailed Robert and he contacted me right away. He helped by talking with the 2 funeral homes and made all the arrangements for seeing that my hubby made it home to his family. This included the transportation to the airport, the flight to Tennessee, and the transportation to the funeral home.
Most organizations would have said that their part was done in this matter. Not Robert, he called me several times to check on me. Just to say "Hi, I'm thinking of you today, " or "how's it going". He has a heart that is bigger than Texas and don't want anyone to feel they are all alone in their struggle to survive a death of a loved one. Robert even called me around the December Holidays just to make sure that everything was going fine and that I was taking steps to get back on my feet again.
Truckers Final Mile is an awesome organization filled with love and a listening ear. They always have a helping hand stretched out to lift you up when you are hitting bottom. Thank you Truckers Final Mile and Thank you Robert, I don't know what I would have done without you.
My father became ill while out on the road in New Mexico and was hospitalized. My mother and I traveled to be with him while he was In the hospital, but needed help with funds to transport him from New Mexico back home. Truckersfinalmile stepped up and provided not only funds for my dad's plane ticket, but funds to fly me out to New Mexico and back so he wouldn't have to travel home alone. We are eternally grateful to the generosity and help truckersfinalmile provided our family!
My Father, Clay V Burns, suddenly passed away on May 12, 2018 in California. We are from Oklahoma and were at a loss with the devastating news. With no life insurance I had no idea how to get my Father home so we could lay him to rest when I was given the information about Truckers Final Mile. I was raised in a trucking family but had never herd of this. From the moment I got in contact with Robert, I was treated like my Father was family. They took care of everything for my family and I, and helped me through the process of getting my Father home. It's not easy to make arrangements for the loss of a loved one, but it's even harder when they are across the country from home and the funeral home doesn't care what your going through to point where they laugh and hang up on you. It didn't matter what time I called or how upset I was, Robert was there for me. I can't explain the impact this Charity has made in my life. I've never met a group of people that help with nothing gained to themselves. It was a blessing to me when the feeling of hopelessness was over taking me. This is amazing Charity and group of people that I will never forget.

Truckersfinalmile.org is the only organization of its kind.
Truck drivers criss-cross America's highways 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year moving the products we consume. More often than not drivers can be hundreds if not thousands of miles from home. When tragedy strikes, sometimes including death, families are left to incur the unexpected expense of getting their driver home.
Robert Palm, founder of truckersfinalmile.org, has worked with families to arrange transportation for a driver's "final mile". I personally know of one driver who's remains were personally delivered to his family from hundreds of miles away. I just can't put something as emotional as that into too many words except to say that unless you, a family member or someone close to you is an Over The Road truck driver chances are you don't give them much thought. Hopefully, after reading this you will.
We thank the so much for what they have done for our family. it really was a huge relieve having there help! They are a wonderful company with much compassion and love for helping trucker families like us.
My husband, and otr driver, had taken a load to Maine and while there suffered several strokes. Me and my parents went to be with him from our home in east Tennessee. I can't express enough gratitude to Robert and truckersfinalmile.org for helping us with lodging while we were there with him!! He was moved to a hospital close to home. And now to a rehab facility to recover. We're still taking one day at a time, as he still can't swallow, speak, or use his right side. We know and believe God can do many things! And that is our prayer. Again I can't thank truckers final mile enough for their care and support during this difficult time in our lives.
On 1/18 of this year My 59 year old brother passed away from the flu while making a delivery.
It was complicated as my brother was in Utah, lived in Phoenix and his next of kin Our mother was in Oregon.
our mother is 80 years old had 9 children and had never suffered the loss of a child we were all quite concerned we would lose her during this difficult time.
I reached out to truckersfinalmile.org and Robert reached out within a very short time asked us for all of the necessary information and told us he would help us with getting my brother home to us.
not only did they help with the cremation they assisted in getting my sister a flight to Utah to view him and escort his remains home.
during this process Robert listened and helped accommodate several schedule changes even a last minute flight change so that my sister could return early to care for our ill mom.
He arranged for my brothers ashes to be presented to our mom by the Patriot Guard along with an American Flag as my brother was a retired Army serviceman.
we were treated with respect caring and always with the utmost dignity throughout.
We are so grateful.
My step father has been in the hospital since December 14th. He went in with the flu and pneumonia. After several complications he has made his way to rehab. In order for him to come home we need a wheelchair ramp due to him having right leg paralysis. My step father is the only income so now there is no income and I myself am limited with what I can do because I have my own home and bills. I reached out to another organization who put me in contact with truckersfinalmile.org and with in mins Mr. Robert Palm had called me to find out what was going on. I explained everything and with in a hour he had already had plan A set in place for a ramp. He then reached put to local media in my area and our story was out. We had another organization Ray of Hope Wheelchair Ramps offer to build the ramp. Mr. Palm was able to get the lumber we needed in within 2 weeks we had the ramp built. My family and myself are completely great full to Mr. Palm at a truckersfinalmile.org. His organization is completely amazing and we will for ever be great full for what he did for my step father. We are hoping to bring him home the 21st of February. Thanks again truckersfinalmile.org! !!
There is not enough good that can be said about TruckersFinalMile.org. Helping families who are dealing with emotions of heartache and sorrow because of the loss of a loved one that is away from home and there is no help from any source to get them home. Because of this wonderful charity people in this situation can have some comfort when they really need it by knowing there is a way they can get their loved one home one last time. I support this charity and urge others to please donate.
Such an incredible organization! They do so much good for people in true need! When you lose a loved one, the last thing you want to do is worry about finances or logistics. This group steps in and helps in a desperate time of need! So impressed!
Truly an amazing organization with such heart behind it. I work as part of a company who transports bodies all over the world when someone has passed away and I can tell you personally that working with this group has been nothing but full passion and compassion for families and the drivers. Robert has an enormous heart for this cause and I hope to see nothing but success while he touches the lives of those in need during the worst hours of their lives.
On August 28,2017 I got that call that nobody ever wants to get. Parents to 6 and grandparents to 7 it happen so fast . we never planned for any of this to happen. I was lost, confused, heartbroken, and in shock..what was I going to do? My husband was 492 miles from home and I couldn't get to him. I was lost on how I was going to get him home. I remembered stories I had read when I was on the road with my husband and I went searching. I came across truckersfinalmile.org. I sent a message in hopes of a quick response because I wanted my husband home. And it wasn't even an hour later Mr. Robert Palm called me. He listened with all his heart, he was patient to my heart break, he let me cry to him as if I was his little sister. He told me everything would be OK that he would get my husband home to me. He called every chance he could to update me on how things were going, what was being done, how they were being done. Consoling me, and making sure I was OK. All this while working his own schedule to provide for his family. He made a promise and kept it. There was no help of any kind from my husbands company. I owe truckerfinalmile.org and all who donate to truckersfinalmile.org a ..well I can't thank you guys enough. Had it not been for the love of others to donate, my husband would still be waiting to get home. God sends angels for special reasons. I will always be grateful to you this organization.
I am not a trucker or a trucker's spouse but I learned about the organization from Facebook and was able to contact Robert Palm to chat with him about the organization. Since then I would have to say it's been a few years now. We keep in regular contact via chat and Facebook, Robert and truckersfinalmile.org helped a family that lived in another state when their beloved trucker was brutally murdered here in Sumner , Washington. Robert and I had constant contact during the initial months , since I live in Spanaway, Washington and the scene was not too far from me, I hung flyers to get the word out and talked to some truckers to help try and solve this awful crime. Robert was always there for me to talk to get other information to pass along. I have seen the need grow more and more for help for the truckers and their families in the difficult times that they get faced with. Robert and the organization cares a lot about the dignity of getting the trucker home to be with his/ her family and they will do what it takes to make sure the family doesn't have to worry about anything. Even in my job , I am around truckers all day. I pass the information along to the truck drivers I come across as they are headed out of state to do deliveries. I recommend that people go to the website truckersfinalmile.org or look at their Facebook page and see the truckers that they have helped, this is a true blessing for truckers and their families in the time of need. Please Donate to help.......remember it could be a family member that might need help.

I learned about Robert and truckersfinalmile.org last year. I have friends that are in the trucking industry and when I saw on Facebook about this organization, I started to tell everyone. I have been in contact with Robert alot since then and getting to word out in my area.
Just a few weeks ago we had a trucker that was murdered in Sumner, Washington. I have helped pass out flyers in my area where the crime happened and at another truck stop in another city called Fife. I was able to talk to truckers with the information that Robert has taught me about what he does. Robert and the others that work hard for us and help those in the trucking community and their families, is an awesome group of people. This organization helps families that need to bring their loved ones home from passing on the road doing what they love .
My husband passed away unexpectedly in august while on a run...we had alot of hiccups as we are canadian and he passed in california itnwas a nightmare...but robert stepped up immediately to start helping my son and i and we were greatful. Truckersfinalmile.org is a light through so many peoples darkness. I cannot thank them enough for all they did to help my son and I with our loss. Thank you so much. What an amazing cause.
We are still receiving emotional support from this amazing organization 4 months later. We could not be more grateful to robert palm and this wonderful organization
My husband of 25 years, Max Word, an IC OTR driver passed suddenly, one day after making it home for our only daughter's high school graduation, in Panther truck, on May 20th. I fell to total shock, life insurance less than 2 years old, and I'm on fuxed income. Robert Palm and this organization was straight outta Heaven, a Godsend. They were going to get my husband home to GA; yet had to face unseen challenges from other persons & companies, that I wasn't prepared for. Thanks to God for sending Mr.Palm and this organization, at a time when our daughter and I had no one, we had Mr.Robert there making phone calls to people he's acquainted with, so that could have some resemblance of a service for my husband, and to be able to bring him home. He made himself available on the phone explicitly telling me anytime call if needed. I'll tell anyone tell day I draw my last, that I'm so thankful to God for giving us Mr.Palm and this organization, I couldn't of made it thru without all the help that's came from you. Thank you for all you do, may God continue to guide and protect you, just as you've done for my family. A thank you and a review will never begin to express my gratitude to you.

My uncle unexpectedly passed away while on the job as a truck driver. He was 700 miles away from home. My uncle didn't have the financial means or insurance for us to bring him home for a proper burial.
We heard about truckersfinalmile.org from a friend and fellow trucker. I called truckersfinalmile.org a Sunday afternoon (didn't expect anyone to answer) I can't believe how willing and hard they worked to help us raise money to get my uncle home. Some who they never even met!!
I can't thank truckersfinalmile.org enough for all that they did for my Uncle and Our family.
My husband came home for Thanksgiving and had to leave out on Saturday to deliver his load in CA for Monday. He delivered and was suoosed to pick up his new load at 3am Tuesday morning. He shut down and had leftovers I had packed him from thanksgiving. I called him and he said he wasent feeling well and thought he got food poisoning. He was vomiting and couldent see straight and had vertigo. It got to the point that I told him to call 911. Off to the hospital. He had had a stroke. I had to fly out to Fresno ASAP and he was on life support for 6 days. And was in the hospital for 15 days. He is doing much better. Thanks to truckersfinalmile.org they paid for my stay while I was there and also helped me get him home! I don't know what I would have done without the help. He still is recovering but doing awesome!! Thanks so much. Please help this amazing charity by donating people need this help when our love ones travel and we ate not able to get to them or get them home.
When my husband had a stroke out on the road, I asked Truckers final mile for help in getting my husband brought back home. They worked very hard to raise the money needed for the transportation. I appreciate all they have done to help our family.
On March 7, 2017, I spoke with my husband right before 9am, right around 11am, my husband was found deceased in his truck. We live in NC, my husband, a long haul driver was in Indiana at a truck stop. Shocked, confused, alone, I had no idea what to do. A friend told me about truckersfinalmile and gave me a phone number to contact them. With the briefest of information they too the ball and ran with it. I was told if I needed anything, had any questions, just wanted to talk, to call them. I had no problems getting in touch with them, if they were unable to talk, my call was returned as soon as they were able. All my questions were readily answered, anything I needed to do was fully explained in ways that there was no confusion. With him being out of state, there was a lot of paperwork, a lot of red tape and the needs for signatures. It took 10 days due to all of that, but once the last signature was in place, plane reservations were made and the schedule was sent to me. His body was respectfully flown from Illinois to Texas and from Texas to Charlotte. The mortuary service had someone pick him up from the airport and delivery him to the funeral home who was expecting his body. They even called me to make sure that everything was okay. My hope is that no one ever has to deal with anything such as the loss of a loved one so far away, I am thankful that groups such as this and especially this one, is there should the need arise.
Robert and his team did an absolutely amazing job getting my father in law home after an unfortunate circumstance.
They were able to give our family some peace during this time of grief and sadness, and for that we'll always be thankful and grateful!
I recently lost my mom in October, in a tragic accident while she was on the job. This was in my last semester of my Bachelors degree, all of my capstone classes were winding down, and I was to graduate in December. I am 24 years old, and never imagined I would have to handle my mom so early in my life. I'm not sure how I would've gotten through such a hard time in my life without Robert from Truckers final mile reaching out to me. I was overwhelmed with emotions, and he stopped at nothing to ensure that they were family helping family. I truly appreciate all this organization has done for me.
My father n law had a heart attack the 23rd of September and they helped us get him home and our self home. Very great person and very nice
This is an AMAZING nonprofit charity. My husband recently passed away in Pennsylvania in his truck while under a load, no insurance and no way to carry out his final wishes of being cremated. I contacted truckersfinalmile.org and they took care of everything including the travel expenses for my son to drive to Pennsylvania to pick up my husbands remains and take him back home to Ohio. I don't know what we would've done without the help of truckersfinalmile.org.
I know that we were not prepared for anything like this to happen and I thank GOD everyday that truckersfinalmile.org was there to help us in our time of crisis.
I love what this charity's mission is...to maintain dignity and respect for the North American Truck Driver. It is good to see everyday people that work in this industry stepping up to help families affected by tragedy. The positive attitude displayed by all that are helping each case is AMAZING!!!
I have found there is many need for this. I am always making donation to help Robert to get truckers home whenever I can. Sometimes not to much sometimes but I wish I had more to. This is vry good service for truck drivers and is very good service for family of truck driver who need help when something bad happen on highway to get the trck driver home. I donate when I can to help.
As driver's wife I always worry what will happen if he were hurt again but this time far from home. My husband was injured after loading at a steel mill in OH in 2000. He was alone at the mill and compound fractured his jaw in 2 places. By the grace of God he was only 3 hours from our home. After surgery and having his jaw wired shut for 16 weeks he was healthy enough to go back on the road. If it had happened then I don't know what we would have done. I watch as Truckersfinalmile.org makes it possible for these families to breath a little easier during a tragedy know g someone is there to help get their family home after injury or death. I appreciate having that piece of mind.
The day that my brother Ken past away on the road. My wife went to the Facebook and asked other truckers if there was a group out there that could helps with pay some of the cost to bring the driver home that has past away on the road. The drivers told her 10 time to call Robert and she did call him for help. We told him that Ken did not have any life insurance for him. Ken was sick for 2 or 3 weeks before that. If any one call him at all hours of the day he would answer his phone to help out.
This guy has a good heart that would take his shirt off of his back to give it to any one that he does not know. He is a godsend to help for family when they need with a helping hand.
Thanks from the Evans Family
I have been a board member of truckersfinalmile.org since the beginning. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this unique organization. Not only do we help the drivers that have passed over the road, but in doing so provide comfort and security to the loved ones left behind.
On 2/5/16 my ex-husband and father of my children passed away unexpectedly in Georgia. (He apparently died in his sleep.) A friend suggested I contact an organization called Truckers Final Mile about bringing him back home. On Saturday, 2/6/16 at 5:30 am, I went to the website and sent an email explaining the situation and asking if there was anything they could do to help. Within 10 minutes Robert responded to my email asking for my phone number so he could call me. He called at 10:30 am--he's a trucker himself, so he called when he had a break. For the next two weeks, he kept me informed of the progress. He kept in touch with the funeral home, the trucking company Moe drove for, the medical examiner in Georgia, and me. He was able to get funding to pay for the cremation in Georgia and arrange for a trucker to transport Moe's ashes from there to the Finger Lakes in New York. Truckers Final Mile, and Robert specifically, made a terribly difficult time less stressful for all of us.
January 7th, 2016. My father Walter J. Greggs III passed away while driving his truck in Texas due to a heart attack. I was lost and confused, not knowing how to get him home. A close friend of mine who is also a trucker gave me the phone number to this organization Truckersfinalmile.org
I was at my wits end, having received the run around from Veterans Affairs and every funeral home my family had called. No one would talk to us without at least $2500.00 in hand, until I spoke with Robert from the organization.
Two hours after my initial conversation with Robert, he called me back and already had the ball rolling, absorbing an immense amount of the pressure my family was experiencing. Having already made the proper phone calls, Truckersfinalmile.org had made the arrangements for my fathers cremation after receiving a generous donation from my fathers employer. Their generosity doesn't stop here, refusing to have a Viet Nam war veteran shipped in the US mail, Robert's wonderful wife Janine and two son's drove to my front door and hand delivered my Father's remains. His son wore his Air Force uniform, and presented me the remains and memorial army flag, I can see my father saluting him for such a kind act.
My gratitude for this non-profit, can't be put into words. They are wonderful people, I just hope one day I will find someway to repay their kindness.

On December 20, 2015 my husband. "Tex" Christopher Lowe was found deceased in the cab of his truck. He had just signed on as a lease/operator for a major carrier. We had no income to speak of as well as no savings or Insurance. The company he leased on with had a policy to wait 90 days until any death benefits would kick in. Tex lived a very simple life. He had no personal Insurance to cover any kind of funerary costs. I am disabled with a child on a fixed income. As his spouse I was obligated by law and to my husband to see through his final wishes of cremation. I did not have any means financially to proceed with his request. I found truckers final mile.org on Facebook. Robert contacted me immediately upon receiving my message. He worked diligently to raise the funds to pay for my husband's cremation. He even got the carrier to donate to the Fund. Robert and truckers final Mile. Org are a wonderful organization. They blessed me by helping me through this difficult time. I cannot say enough positive things about this group. If anyone is in need in the Trucking community, this organization will stand up and fight for your rights. I am thankful that they are out there for us. God bless you Robert. What you did for us is truly a selfless thing.
