I've contributed to the World Monuments Fund since 2008. It doesn't just restore the world's architectural wonders, it also helps train new conservation professionals and craftspeople in the parts of the world it works in. This training of local people allows them to see the value of treasures they have in their own "backyard" as it were, and to be inspired to continue to preserve and maintain them. I only wish there was such a group that would have benefited the neighborhood I grew up in (Old North St. Louis) in St. Louis, Missouri. It was filled with churches and homes from the mid and late 1800s that could hold their own with any in the USA. Unfortunately, well-intended but misguided "urban renewal" in the late 1960s and early 1970s resulted in the loss of many buildings, and by the time a local preservation group was formed, only small remnants of what had been a vibrant neighborhood could be saved. World Monuments Fund does internationally what the local St. Louis group does.

I have been a supporter of the American Battlefield Trust for many years and strongly believe in their mission and their organization. I am an avid history buff who has been trying to learn about the Civil War and the Trust's educational materials are very helpful. I have found, however, that the best way to truly understand and appreciate any battle is to actually walk the battlefield itself. Nothing can replace the experience of walking in the footsteps of those who fought (and died) on the battlefield. Unfortunately, these sites are under constant threat of development, most recently from huge date centers and once these hallowed grounds are lost they are lost forever. The work that the American Battlefield Trust has done to preserve and restore these sites is nothing short of amazing. I have attended battlefield tours with their staff who are dedicated, extremely knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge with others. I totally trust this organization.

My experience as a donor with the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute has been enlightening. I've learned valuable information about social justice and civil rights. The institute’s innovative programs are great because they build strong interactions with the community. I appreciate how the SCCI helps to keep Congresswoman Chisholm’s legacy alive as an inspiration for future generations. I think it's important to support and donate to this organization that is making a difference in the interest of a greater good.

As an Army Nurse Corps Vietnam Veteran, I was contacted by Imprints of Honor (IOH) requesting a presentation/student interview at a local High School Imprints of Honor Chapter regarding my experience in Vietnam. I have been very impressed with all aspects of the interactions. Communication and support from the faculty advisor were excellent. The interview/presentation was eloquently written-up by a student, published in a professional hardback volume titled Since You Asked and later autographed at a large annual gathering of contributors, students, faculty, and volunteers of Imprints of Honor. Other activities of Imprints of Honor such as participation in patriotic community parades, providing speakers for local organizations, and scholarships for students have all been equally professional. I highly recommend IOH as a very worthy nonprofit.

I have no experience with this non profit at the moment.

I am a former US Army paratrooper who has found my airborne home after retirement. I get to experience the thrill of jumping and the comaradarie of brothers and sisters of a like mind. Thank you RCPT-USA

The grounds are beautiful year round with walking trails, a wide variety of trees, and an array of unique outbuildings. The goats and donkey are great fun to interact with. The year-round programming and special events are excellent and getting even better. Interesting newsletters prepared by energetic and engaged staff. All in all, DMA is a terrific place to visit and volunteer.

Honoring our brave fallen heroes with compassion, respect, and love is what makes Honor and Remember one of the absolute best nonprofit organizations. To let families and friends know that their loved one will never be forgotten provides solace and healing for so many.

The Board, volunteers and members of the Museum have really stepped up. In 4 months, they have have moved into their new building, restructured their exhibits and welcome old members back. So hopeful for the future of this 48 year old organization celebrating Stone County history.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with ICA-Art Conservation for nearly 13 years and have been consistently impressed by their expertise and dedication to preserving art and cultural artifacts. Each individual of the ICA team, past and present staff members, has blossomed into long friendships. The conservators at ICA are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to provide valuable advice for the collections I manage.<br><br>The team at ICA brings an exceptional level of skill and passion to their work. Every visit to the lab is inspiring, as I witness their dedication to a wide range of projects. They apply state-of-the-art techniques, underpinned by extensive research, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of multiple scientific fields to carefully preserve history. <br><br>They see conservation as an opportunity not only to protect and restore but also to educate and share their love of art, history, and science. Supporting their hard work and services is truly rewarding.<br><br>If you’re interested in preserving cultural history, I highly recommend visiting ICA’s lab, meeting their talented team, and exploring their conservation/preservation services. Their work is truly magic in action, and supporting them, whether through donations or spreading the word, is a meaningful way to help protect our shared heritage.

The Just Do It Support Center is a wonderful place that excels as a partner in organizing crisis volunteering training. As volunteers from the Czech Republic, we were impressed by the professionalism and commitment of the team. The training sessions were well-organized, and the facilitators shared valuable experiences, enabling us to effectively prepare for work in challenging situations. The atmosphere fostered collaboration and the exchange of ideas, making the entire process incredibly inspiring. We are grateful for this fruitful partnership and look forward to more joint initiatives!<br><br>

The Beecher Monument is in the perfect location! They rescued it and the town is better off for their effort.

I moved close to the park but didn’t investigate volunteering until I stumbled upon the Friends running a Colonial Days program for what seemed like hundreds of school children. I ended up volunteering as a gardener in one of the historic household gardens. Through that involvement I’ve come to see the Friends Fife and Drum Corps participating in civic events and historic re-enactments throughout the region. I’ve observed tens of thousands of people attending the annual Crossings, Independence Day celebrations with a full slate of educational programming, attended summer weekend events with historical interpreters at the Thompson-Neeley farmstead. I have learned to row a two ton Durham boat (I’m 71 btw) and have begun being a weekend garden ambassador greeting visitors to the garden where my involvement began. In that capacity I have literally met visitors to the park from coast to coast who appreciate the rich history which the Friends so passionately preserve and share. <br>With the 250th anniversary of Washington’s Crossing coming up in 2026, as well as America’s birthday celebration, the Friends are looking forward to programming events that will educate, entertain and inspire all generations. I feel so honored to be a part of it all.

I have background in history and appreciate what this Rosetta Stone project contributes to understanding ancient Egyptian history. It is a story that is often missed in schools today, including how understanding of the past is advanced by investigations and discoveries by individuals, sometimes accidentally. Hopefully this project will inspire students to appreciate history and even become historians and investigators themselves.

Special thanks to Gary and Sheryl Misegades for maintaining the Henning Military Park. The grounds are beautiful. The addition of Picnic tables allow for seating while reflecting on the military service of persons recognized with tiles. <br><br>Please consider a donation to help with the cost of placing new mulch at the park. My experience with ACT is so profoundly disturbing and so insanely detrimental to my life that I cannot believe that it is real as it feels like I am trapped in a horrible nightmare and I can’t find anyone to help me. <br>No human being should ever have to endure such incredible division, discrimination and dehumanization from a conservation trust and also a conservation cemetery. It is not normal. My experience is incredible gender-based violence and discrimination as well as discrimination for autism. I have been asking on repeat to please engage in dialogue, problem solve and build peace for so many years now, but instead, I have been ignored, dismissed, silenced, smeared, slandered, blocked, excluded, repeatedly traumatized by law enforcement and in the legal system. They have paid a female attorney whose father was a judge to repeatedly attack, berate and belittle me in court, which is gender-based violence and profoundly disturbing. She knows nothing about me and my property and she could.care less that I have autism; she has repeatedly attacked me verbally for things she knows nothing about. They have told numerous outright lies, including that ACT met with me to listen to my grievances, which is a lie. Not one single person has ever taken the time to speak with me before throwing me under the bus in the legal system. I never deserved this. I have always had legitimate purpose as a female landowner doing my best on my own. I am also not willful or malicious; I have autism. This nightmare has been happening ever since I volunteered here and became a landowner shortly thereafter. It has been happening ever since they received funding for their Women in the Woods Program and since they have been professing to support women. This is also a falsehood as I have been suffering horrible retaliation the past 8 years, and not just from one individual but from numerous people and pretty much this whole organization- a nonprofit conservation trust.. It has been so detrimental to my life, mind, heart, spirit and soul. Every time I reach out for help, it is compiled and used against me in retaliation and to traumatize even more. I really feel that I need help in this David v Goliath situation. <br>I can’t even go to Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery if anyone I know dies. I can’t go anywhere near ACT due to a civil injunction because of the former Land Stewardship Director who moved across country over 2 years ago. Why am I still blocked and excluded for a man who moved? It was always based upon lies and exaggerations in order to silence me. I do not understand how literally everyone can turn a blind eye to this abusive situation. I am being treated worse than an animal. The things they have said to me in court are highly abusive and beyond dehumanizing. There is a very serious problem here at ACT for this to be perpetuated for so long and no one is helping me. Instead, there has been incredible cover-up and I now even have some documentation of the extent as it runs very deep and is again profoundly disturbing and unsettling. <br>Policies and procedures desperately need to change to protect vulnerable individuals here. If you are planning on doing an internship or volunteering here, be forewarned that if you have any problems, you will be turned into the problem by this whole entire organization and pretty much the whole community since ACT is so popular. They do many good things and many nice people work here but there is also a very serious problem here. <br>Also, there really needs to be term limits for board members as this is the heart of the problem in addition to the policies and procedures. Some board members have served on the board for a decade or more and they would do anything to protect the reputation at ACT, even if it means throwing an autistic female landowner under the bus which has happened to me. This is exactly how and why we have the Me, Too movement- because of bylaws that value an organization over individuals and human beings in our community.

This organization is supposed to be about things in Montauk that are historical. I don't think there's anything more historical than The Seven Sister homes that were built in the late 1880s. They seem to stay away from this subject. I even wanted to donate them my drawings of the Seven Sisters and they kept putting me off. Then they had this big night where they were going to talk about Arthur Benson and the history via YouTube, and all they did was poked jabs at the man and talked about inappropriate subjects masturbation being one of them. Listen to the video for yourself. I think this is a political matter little too heavy on the left.

Palmyra is a small town I lived in and grew up around. It has several cemeteries and some of my family mostly Veterans are buried there. So our projects for the cemeteries is near and dear to my heart. Looking forward to seeing what’s next moving forward.

Wow! I took a small group of students there today and we all had the most amazing time! Our hostess was Petra. She was knowledgeable, warm and relatable. My group ranged from K-4 and they all enjoyed themselves. The activities were well planned out. We had an old fashioned fun day, no tablet can compare to smashing pumpkins and diving into piles of leaves. Real life fun, no charger needed! Thank you Wyckoff house staff for helping to create lasting memories.

This is an AMAZING organization! The Mission of Remember the Fallen, Honor Those Who Serve and Teach the Next Generation of value of freedom resonates deeply. The history of the organization teaches us the impact that the passion of one person can grow into a huge impact! The support and resources that they provide to their volunteers far surpasses any other organization that I have been involved with! I have been a member of many service organizations in my lifetime, participated in many service projects, NONE of them have the impact on me personally, and the community around me that Wreaths Across America does!

I've had the pleasure of meeting and volunteering with the tribe and couldn't have met people more dedicated, passionate and loving about issues that matter not only for their people but all people and all creation. Not only that they are very open and willing to teach on these issues and the relationship they have with earth water and all. The experience and continual experience is more electrifying and educational every time we connect.

As a docent I can rightfully say that I received well thought-out training and other preparation to enable me to share with the visitors the early history of the early California rancho period and of the Dana personages. I enjoy talking to people and they received the benefit of what I learned from books, lectures, discussions with other docents and the enthusiasm that we all shared. We have living history days and local elementary school students visits that the Dana Adobe conducts for the purpose of educating the public. I have been a docent for about 10 years and it has been a pleasure to work with like-minded people.

Historic St. Mary’s located in Stevensville, Montana is designated a National Historic District that welcomes visitors from many states and countries. The buildings have been carefully restored and maintained as they were originally designed over a 100 years ago. Also included in the buildings and museum are original artifacts and photographs. In recent years, a replica of a typical Salish encampment, surrounded by native plants and trees was erected on the grounds. This addition is always a favorite of both children and adults. We recommend a tour of Historic St. Mary’s Mission as a highlight of your visit to the Bitterroot Valley. Richard and Beth Stone <br>
