Reviews for Music In The Schools
I first started working with Music In The Schools as a volunteer, then agreed to serve on the Board of Directors when I experienced first-hand the positive impact the oganization has on music programs in the schools. Even before the current economic crisis, there has been a steady erosion of funding for music programs in the public schools. Music In The Schools has not only raised money to assist music programs in the schools but also helped bring public awareness to the benefit of keeping music programs in the schools. The founder, Lynette Brehm, has worked tirelessly to insure that all children hear music in their schools--now and in the future!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have personally experienced the joy and pride that music brings to the students while assisting with the city-wide Music In The Schools band competitions. Many schools wanted to participate but could not due to lack of intruments. Music in the Schools Musical Instrument Drive held December 4, 2010 collected new and used musical instruments and donated them to San Antonio area schools. All the used instruments were repaired by Alamo Music at no charge prior to the instrments being donated.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Continue to raise awareness of the benefits of keeping music programs growing in the public school system.
