The Patient Institute empowers patients and caregivers to navigate the healthcare system. Their free educational programs are very informative. I use their Preparing For Your Doctor's Appointment Form before seeing my doctors.

Patient Institute not only helps patients better navigate the sometimes confusing routes to physician access and clarifies how to obtain insurance benefits to which insureds are entitled, but has now broadened its efforts to include physicians and medical students in the information sharing process. Patient Institute continues to intensify its outreach programs through the development of innovative
communications tools to expand the number of patients and physicians who receive the information
it provides.

I have the privilege of being appointed to the Advisory Board of the Patient Institute in San Antonio, TX. Over my 2 years of volunteering I have seen the Institute expand its valuable work to many areas in the community. The focus of the Institute is to educate the community, school children, college and university students and so forth about how to navigate through the complicated US health care system. They also provide education on health and wellness and many other topics that inform about keeping both physically and psychological well.
They have developed a course for pre - med and allied health students which covers topics such as business practices, finance, ethics, health and wellness and a raft of other topics which will assist these students to understand how to manage their lives in the health care arena.
The principles of the Patient Institute are kind and caring and very focused on improving the knowledge base of those they present to. This is always done in a in a very understanding and positive manner.
It is a pleasure to be associated with the Patient Institute.

The mission is worthy and very timely with the advent of so many options, rules and procedures in seeking medical care. As a board member, I am witnessing first hand the dynamic qualities and efficiency of the executive officers and staff of the Patient Institute, and most important, I am witnessing the results of this non-profit. The Patient Institute is directly helping people navigate the health care system!!!!! I am proud to serve for the Patient Institute.
