This is an absolutely wonderful organization. They have done and continue to do so much to uncover the abuses inherent in vivisection. Through truth the exploiters can not hide and the public will be educated!
I fully and wholeheartedly agree with saving animals from being killed for any other reason, except for food or scientific discovery, and by euthanasia when needed. Killing for food is necessary, because humans are omnivores. I will change this statement, if something similarly nutritious and delicious as meat can be made from plants. But killing animals MUST be done in a HUMANE way. Sometimes when I have chicken wings I see a broken humerus bone with signs suggesting it happened while the chicken was alive. I am for humane keeping and handling of all animals, including turtles and tortoises hunted for their meat and believed medicinal properties in China and India.
The use of animals in scientific medical research is controversial, but strictly regulated that does not allow handling them in a cruel way. They are anesthetized when operated on, and yes, sometimes killed, in a humane way. That is done, because your grandmother needs a medication to stay alive in a humane way, like not in pain. Those thousands of mice die in a humane way, not by a trap in your kitchen or caught by your cat; they help developing medicines for you and for your grandma. They die for us, humans, humanely.
I have an issue with SAEN regarding my ongoing donation and I am appealing to Michael B to return the messsages I have been leaving.

SAEN does so much good via their research, investigations, media exposure, and federal complaints to unmask the vile inhumane animal experimentation still going on today. I cannot state emphatically enough how important this organization is!
SAEN is a wonderful organization dedicated to protecting animals. They are working towards the day when animals are not used in research labs. There are so many viable humane alternatives to animal research now that it should be obsolete.

Love that SAEN is very successful in its fight to end animal research while at the same time being very cost-effective which is why I donate regularly to this organization.
SAEN is the leading organization in the U.S. when it comes to exposing animal abuse and wasted taxpayer $ in animal laboratories. Through their tireless research and world class staff they expose the countless deaths and horrific injuries occurring behind closed doors due to negligence that the labs try to hide. SAEN is a small but tenacious staff of dedicated professionals. I highly recommend them. Not a single dollar is wasted at SAEN in contrast to the.billions of dollars wasted in animal laboratories.

SAEN is hands down the most effective organization working to expose the truth about animal experimentation. They are tireless, conscientious and relentless in their pursuit of the truth and bringing those who harm animals to justice. They have an extremely low overhead, one of the lowest of any non profit group working on any issue anywhere in the world so every dollar you donate will be going directly to help the animals. I highly recommend SAEN. They are only limited in the amount of animals they can save by the amount of resources they have. They have a proven model of advocacy that works. You can be confident your donation no matter the amount will save lives.
I donate to many animal charities but am especially impressed with the tenacity, determination and success of Stop Animal Exploitation Now. I first learned about this group after reading a story of theirs in my local newspaper detailing abuses inside my local university’s animal labs. Not only do I plan on donating for many years to come but have also added them to my will.
SAEN was founded in 1996 with one mission - to expose the atrocities of animal experimentation hidden behind the closed lab doors. SAEN has been more successful than our wildest dreams - instrumental in the leverage of 4 out of 5 of the largest USDA fines, closure of countless labs and protocols, thousands of animals released/spared from ever being experimented on, and over hundred news stories generated annually educating millions. We are not just planting seeds for the future but also making concrete changes today paving a path for ethical research for tomorrow!

SAEN is extremely effective in the fight to end animal research. We generate annually over 100 news stories exposing animal experimentation. SAEN also closes down specific research projects and successfully pressures federal regulators to levy record fines and actually close labs for violating federal laws. Our work has also been pivotal in changing public opinion on the animal research issue. I am proud to be a part of Stop Animal Exploitation NOW!
SAEN is a top rate organization in how it deals with people that want to be involved and organizations that it works with. They truthfully go after all researchers and labs that have broken the law or are doing redundant research. This is the best use of any donation you can think to give!

SAEN is unique in that it focuses solely on animal experimentation. This is my go-to resource when I need information on a specific lab or how to effectively counter animal research arguments. If you are interested in seeing animal experimentation end, then please support this front runner of an organization as SAEN is well worth supporting.

SAEN is a great group, working constantly to help animals in labs in all possible ways. I support them 100%!
I think since 2008 or so I've been familiar with the vital work SAEN does & the list of achievements seems to be reliably consistent. They improve the lives of hundreds of animals annually & are constantly being whistle-blowers of laboratories violating the limited laws that benefit animals otherwise doomed to Vivisection.
I have had numerous experiences in these last 9 years doing on-the-ground protests for SAEN, hearing SAEN's latest news in their presentations at Animal Rights conferences in Washington D. C., Florida, California, & their home city, the land of Proctor & Gamble, Cincinnati, OH.
Over the years I've come to know the founders, Karen & Michael Budkie & I know that their work for animals is their life. They're entirely dedicated & effectively operate SAEN.
Great at documenting & promoting their efforts & successes, their work is not on a small-scale or localized but nationally & occasionally internationally recognized.
SAEN's news conferences are proving again & again to be the best & favored method for quickly making the public aware of the latest crimes committed by the revolting & unnecessary industry that is Vivisection.
-Not only is SAEN making the public aware of the horrendous bizarre acts committed behind closed doors but they truly are putting fear into the financiers, suppliers, & management of of these laboratories. Legally, SAEN is finding the "Achilles' Heal" where these laboratories can do no more than evolve away from testing on animals or outright shutting them down.
I have total faith that every day the investigators at SAEN give their best to their bottom line: to end suffering & to open the cages. They are truly among the best animal advocates.
I saw a representative of SAEN speak last week at the South Florida VeganFest and was extremely impressed at the dedication and knowledge of this group. I went originally to this event to learn more about vegan food and ended up walking away with much more because of SAEN's presentation, "The $14 Billion Hoax – Correcting the Myths and Combating the Propaganda." I did not know that our gov't is wasting so much of our tax money on animal experimentation. Definitely, following this group on social media and donating to SAEN.
SAEN is an incredible organization that works tirelessly to advocate for animals in laboratories. I have seen first-hand the countless hours the directors and volunteers dedicate to this cause that is so near to their hearts. Unlike some of the bigger nonprofits, SAEN is more concerned with ending animal experimentation and changing the lived realities of animals trapped in labs than they are with marketing their brand. If you donate to SAEN (time and/or money), you can be certain that your donation is really making a difference. I have seen SAEN's efforts create real change and progress -- SAEN's campaigns are direct, well-researched, well-organized, and largely successful. The organization's goal (as I understand it) is to end animal experimentation -- Because SAEN is out there fighting on the front lines, I believe that this is a real possibility. I have the utmost respect for SAEN, its directors, and its campaigns. SAEN is an honest, transparent, and worthy nonprofit, and a fighting force to combat a horrific industry.
SAEN has been in the vanguard for the animals for many years. My experience with them has shown a very small group of people with impeccable integrity. Their effect on championing change in the area of animal experimentation far out sizes the size of the organization. In essence, two people have accomplished more year to year than larger organizations with budgets of millions in dollars. I would dare say that they are so effective that at times others have taken credit for what they have accomplished to do no more than steal the thunder that SAEN has done.
This is one non-profit that you and I can absolutely feel confident in investing in. While they do not have the budget to have a large media megaphone you can be assured that they do very good work and get more accomplished that any other two or three organization combine do in this field.
The animals have NO credit card BUT I can use mine to show that SAEN knows the way to go to make a difference in our world NOW and SAEN does just that - AND HOW! SAEN has 100% of my support and gratitude for their tireless dedication to tackle the grueling issue of animal experimentation.
I first came into contact with the people of SAEN about seven years ago at an animal rights conference. Realizing that we happen to live in the same state, we've had occasion to attend different events relating to the care of animals, and I've visited their offices, as well.
I can honestly say that they are 100% dedicated to the animals. Nearly every waking moment is spent researching and exposing the atrocities committed in the name of science. Without their dedication and resulting publicity, the animals who are victimized by these companies, labs, and universities would have no hope of freedom.
Our government requires that records be filed by these labs revealing the deaths and incidents of neglect. If it weren't for the people at SAEN, those records would gather dust in a file somewhere. SAEN shines the light at the end of the tunnel for the animals by showing the government its own records of deaths and neglect, demanding the requisite fines, and making sure that the public in general is informed, as well. Labs with continuous records of abuse and neglect have been shut down, all because of the hard work and dedication of SAEN.
It's not an easy thing to do, reading of the horrible things done to animals. But it's something that must be done and the people at SAEN are doing a wonderful job of it.

This group of dedicated people is second to none in its efforts to bring awareness and create change. Until I began to read their articles, I really had no idea of just what went on behind those lab walls. They work tirelessly to prevent the offenders from continuing their atrocities by bringing to light the offenses that are all documented in official records. SAEN acts upon the documented facts and brings it to the media and the rest of us, and then follows through to demand changes. Imagine having to dig through the thousands of documents that are required to be kept by labs and read of the horrors that people call "science," day in and day out. Without SAEN's work, these incidents would just continue to be statistics. But SAEN won't let the labs or our government forget that these are sentient beings who are being legally and illegally abused. Rules, as weak as they are, must be followed and labs must be held accountable. Thankfully, SAEN is right there doing it for us.
Considering that SAEN is pretty much run by two people, the things they've done is impressive. I think of Michael as a walking encyclopedia in his field. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone more dedicated and dogged in pursuit of justice for animals in laboratories.
The team at Stop Animal Exploitation Now! is one of the most dedicated groups of people I have met. They speak effectively and loudly for a terribly underrepresented group of animals, those who are imprisoned in animal testing facilities. SAEN also has a solid record of shutting down or causing the authorities to impose heavy fines on these facilities for animal abuse.
SAEN is a phenomenal non profit. Their work directly impacts the lives of countless animals in laboratories. Their hands on approach brings results and countless animals are saved. As humble, dedicated, hard working individuals I have the utmost respect for them and their work. Their sole purpose is to save these animals and end animal testing. They have been a pleasure to work with and been very helpful and resourceful with giving of their time and energy to help others in the animal welfare movement. - Jessica Young inFURno! Founder
Excellent, hard working, passionate and honest organization that is exceedingly trustworthy and dedicated!
I love SAEN. Michael and his family work very hard to end the suffering of laboratory animals. I saw him speak at an Animal Rights Conference and his methods for combating this evil are very practical and get results.
Review from JustGive
Stop Animal Exploitation Now is the best animal organization out there because they are a grassroot organization that has been there since the beginning of the animal movement, and unlike other organizations that are about press opts and fundraising, they continue to be direct action and making history with their exposes and ground breaking investigations exposing corruption and animal cruelty worldwide. I wish that everyone would support this animal org that is new hope for the animal movement. Michael Budkie always gives facts and statistics instead of emotional sales pitching, to help change horrific conditions. Thank you. Easily one of the top organizations dealing with animal exploitation in existence. If you donate to organizations that are in support of animals, this is one that will give you the most for your dollar. My wife and I have known them for seven years, and have seen the fruits of their activism. It is all done with honesty and no sensationalism. The work they do has ended the4 suffering of many animals destined to suffer and/or die for needless animal experiments. I highly recommend them.

SAEN is a unique organization in that it focuses solely on animal experimentation. As a local activist and promoter of a plant based diet, I see this issue as crucial to making a better world. They have done so much to expose abuses and educate people on the needless cruelty of vivisection. I know for a fact that this organization uses its money wisely, since I know them personally. They are leaders when it comes to this issue, and one of the most important organizations for the rights of animals on this planet. Anybody interested in a better more compassionate world, this is an organization well worth supporting.
Positive results for the animals they represent is what this organization brings. Tireless efforts on behalf of all animals in labs and research. One of only a handful of organizations that speaks up for these often time forgotten beings. I serve as an advisor to this organization on primate issues and support their efforts whenever I can.

SAEN, does more for less than any organization that advocates for the ending of Animal Experimentation than any group I know of. They also provide assistance to many groups that otherwise would not be able to do the work they do without the valuable guidance and assistance of SAEN. SAEN provides valuable information and facts about what is really going on behind the closed doors of many laboratories. They uncover and shine the light on the inside of the labs and that benefits the animals caught up in animal experimentation that do not have a voice otherwise. It's easy to recommend SAEN their work speaks for itself.
SAEN is the best animal right organization I have ever known. No one comes close to their effectiveness in working to help animals caught in the cruel and unethical world animal testing
The founders, Michael and Karen Budkie, work very hard and take very little in compensation. They have had remarkable success in exposing animal abuse in laboratories and in getting companies and institutions to stop some of their abusive programs. They are also skillful in educating the public about effective activism.
I know of no other animal right organization that has as many successful campaigns as SAEN. Michael, Karen and Stacy have focused like a laser beam on the abuse and exploitation of animals held captive in labs for "research". Their outreach to educate the public of what is really going on in the vivisection has been extremely helpful to me . They are just an amazing organization
Stop Animal Exploitation Now! is the best ant-vivisection organization in the world. Laboratory experiments on animals are cruel, unnecessary, and often redundant. Federally funded vivisection is a waste of taxpayer money and abhorrent to most taxpayers. Michael Budkie and his wife Karen of SAEN have accomplished a lot. They are true heroes for the animals abused in laboratories, many of whom are dogs.
SAEN is the rare animal organization that always puts the animals first. No ego, no fundraising for the sake of fundraising, and nothing but hard work. I am proud to have been volunteering with them for almost ten years.

SAEN has an impressive success rate. I admire their hard work and dedication.
SAEN is the very best at what they do,I have worked with them personally and can tell you no other organization fights harder to expose this cruel and unnecessary industry!
SAEN is doing incredible work to expose tax payer funded animal research that has caused extreme cruelty to animals, and has shown the research to be useless. They are the only group that is focused entirely on this issue, and because of that they have been able to bring these atrocities into public view.
This organization not only does all of the work they say they do, they do all the follow-up work to make sure that the campaigns they work on will have success from start to finish. Every penny they raise will be used to create awareness and results. I am happy I learned about their work and hope they continue to grow. I strongly encourage everyone to support SAEN.
I have been working as scientific advisor to SAEN (Stop Animal Exploitation Now) for almost 2 years. I find SAEN's work vital to the antivivisection effort. SAEN is one if the few groups ENTIRELY focused on fighting animal experimentation. Michael Budkie works tirelessly, reviewing reports obtained through The Freedom of Information Act, documenting inadequate, and sometimes horrendous animal care in laboratories. SAEN also holds national conferences, hitherto twice annual, and now annual, to teach people the flaws of vivisection, and how to oppose it. SAEN has been responsible for many laboratories being fined, and SAEN participated in the effort to get the Harvard Primate Center shut down, which will occur next year. SAEN also cooperates with other animal advocacy groups to improve the plight of animals in many other contexts. SAEN has devoted activists, like Karen Budkie and Julia Orr, working to limit and abolish animal abuse. I have been able to share what I have learned in my 30 year fight against vivisection with Michael, Karen, Julia, and Stacey, and together they make a formidable team.
In all my decades as a daily newspaper reporter and editor, I have yet to see a nonprofit organization like SAEN do the meticulous, but necessary, research to expose dangerous (to human and non-human animals) experiments funded by tax dollars. It's investigative work that deserves everybody's attention.
Stop Animal Exploitation Now is a fantastic non profit organization exposing the fraud and abuse of animals exploited for research.
There is no other group in the United States so effectively fighting to expose the cruelty and waste of animal experimentation. SAEN is leading the way to restoring balance between human and non-human life and I am proud to support this wonderful organization.
If you are looking for a non-profit where your donations go DIRECTLY to helping end animal exploitation, donate to SAEN. This is not a big corporate animal rights organization where most of your dollars get wasted on administration, promotion, etc. This is a grassroots organization, and the founders and current directors, Michael and Karen Budkie, have been working tirelessly since its inception in 1996 to end vivisection. Together they have made SAEN a leading voice in America exposing the cruelties of vivisection. I have been an animal rights activist for many decades, and I do not know of an organization that is more dedicated, or more worthy of support, than this one. Please visit their website to see just how effective, and efficient, they are in their work:

SAEN is one of my very favorite groups because they are a small organizations that does BIG things to fight vivisection. They have dedicated staff who really know how to get the needed information to bust these laboratories and then they do, they also teach activists what is going on in the labs and how we can fight it and win. They continue to educate the public about vivisection & have saved so many animals from the torture of vivisection and will save many more.

George Bernard Shaw wrote- "Those who don't hesitate to vivisect will hardly hesitate to lie about it!"
Stop Animal Exploitation Now (SAEN) is a very effective group that is exposing those lies by fighting to end vivisection, the practice of using & abusing animals in the name of medical research. This group has exposed & busted many laboratories for their abuse of animals, teaches people the truth about vivisection, which is that it is scientifically fraudulent, and helps them become better anti-vivsectionists. Vivisection also hurts & kills people so SAEN is helping both animals & humans. SAEN is certainly worthy of this grant!
I have been active in the animal advocacy community for over 35 years. I began my activity after viewing footage of animals used in research. Vivisection. As the years passed, the attention to these imprisoned, suffering, tortured animals waned and factory farming became more the focus of animal advocates. Factory farming should remain in the spotlight, of course, but we cannot forget the animals that languish in research facilities all over the world. They suffer in unfathomable ways, day after day. SAEN has helped bring their suffering to the forefront of our consciousness, and has not let these animals be forgotten. They have exposed grievous activity which has greatly harmed many animals. They work, ceaselessly, to stop abuse and free animals. For the sake of the animals that suffer every second for the sake of "research" I am thankful for SAEN, and very dedicated to helping them.
SAEN is a wonderful organization that has made great strides in putting an end to animal experimentation. They have done great work, especially recently with the closure of the Promate Lab at Harvard Universtiyy (by 2015). It always a pleasure to volunteer with SAEN.
SAEN works tirelessly and exhaustively for the animals. They really "walk the walk", leading an exemplary lifestyle that embodies their beliefs. They are extremely knowledgeable, yet at the same time highly approachable, even by the most innocent newcomer to the field. They possess the rare fortitude and compassion required to mire themselves in the brutal, heart-wrenching details of animal abuse, and turn it into positive action for the animals by using their many skills to direct that information to the right audiences, whether by speaking engagements, protests, press conferences, newsletters or social media campaigns. This small but mighty group has a huge impact on animal welfare.

We first came into contact with SAEN several years ago while attending a conference in Pennsylvania. It was immediately apparent that SAEN is efficiently run and extremely effective. SAEN staff are exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate and well-spoken, and also very generous with their time and energy. I don't know how they can bear to do the work that they do, researching and exposing the horrors that take place in the labs. I am very thankful that they persist in doing what is right for the animals.
There are few organizations working to expose the horrific and mostly meaningless work of vivisectioners. SAEN is a leader in the field. They get results and many testing facilities have been fined for violations and put out of business. SAEN's work also puts other labs on notice and pushes them to adopt new techniques that advance science without harming other beings. The world needs more organizations like SAEN!

I have supported Stop Animal Exploitation Now! for many years, and will continue to do so. The kind of work they do on behalf of laboratory animals (using public records to disclose breaches to the Animal Welfare Acts) is a unique focus of SAEN. But in addition, their public education, letter writing campaigns, and their publicity efforts make their discovery work actually effective at slowing the abuse as an industry.
Previous Stories
I have chosen to add my support to SAEN, regularly over the years, because I see them as an effective organization:
1. SAEN fills a niche in animal rights advocacy by researching the public records for violations to the Animal Welfare Acts, and then acts to hold the institutions and companies accountable to the repercussions of their actions (by advocating for fines and shut-downs).
2. SAEN gets their member base motivated with regular "how you can help" letter writing campaigns which are instrumental in shutting down the departments in the institutions and companies that deal with animal experimentation
3. SAEN effectively publicises their "wins" using the media to keep greater public awereness of the need for animal rights advocacy
4. SAEN "works well with others," being at the fore of organizing animal rights symposiums where numbers of different animal rights aorganizations come together to educate and motivate the public, and to create greater ties and better coordination among each other.
5. SAEN is a small organization with very low overhead costs comparative to the amount that they achieve.
GO SAEN!
I attended SAEN's conference in LA and learned about what SAEN was doing. They have beed a watchdog of sorts, monitoring wasteful and cruel animal research and exposing it to the media and public, leading to the closure of many labs and raising public awareness. SAEN brought together a great collection of people and I learned how our taxes, billions, are spent on wasteful cruel research and I learned so many avenues different activists have taken toward the same goal, to stop wasteful costly cruel and unnecessary research. I like SAEN because I think they are truly effective and tactical.
I've belonged to MANY animal protection groups in my 70 years, but this is the best one EVER. SAEN's founders (the Budkies) take only a small salary, contributing even more than they have sometimes to help place animals that have been rescued (from horrible research labs) into sanctuaries. I recently attended my first SAEN conference, and was astounded by all that I learned there. In the '90s I was very active in animal rights, but had to slow down due to illnesses in my family. Now that I'm able to get back into it again, I was astounded by all that SAEN taught me. SAEN exposes the suffering that animals in "research" labs endure, and teaches us how we can find out what experimenters are doing to them for the grant monies. It's the BEST animal rights/animal protection group of them all because it's so focused on this one issue. I can't say enough good about them. Darlene Kaiser
A hands-on, in the trenches organization that unflinchingly confronts and exposes the needless suffering that is endemic to vivisection. Whether sponsering conferences or demonstrations, SAEN consistently and reliably reveals the unscientific nature of vivisection itself, and the billions of dollars that is squandered on useless and cruel experiments. Experiments that, as revealed by SAEN and other anti-vivisection societies, exist chiefly to rake in millions of dollars for university officials and others with inside connections. It is an enduring tragedy that the animals themselves, the victims of this sordid trade, are unable to mobilize on their own behalf.

S.A.E.N. by Michael Budkie has been working on behalf of all Primates and animals suffering the egregious acts of cruelty for so many years. They research under the Freedom of Information Act and find out how many deaths occur each year, how many animals suffer and why!
They are standing up for one of the most voiceless cruelties ever in the history of mankind. They put on events at labs all over the USA and supply volunteers with the support and information we need to let the people and the media know just what terror is happening to primates, dogs, cats, rats, mongoose, squirrels, chickens, turkeys, geese, rats and mice, etc. Thanks to them thousands more people are aware that these lab experiments do not help humans, and may in fact slow the information down.
I have always been on the side of the weak, creatures that cannot ask for help or are treated poorly. I am on the side of animals, children, and the elderly. Animals are like little people. This includes dogs, cats, the ape & monkey family, etc. These creatures have feelings like you and I, they just cannot express it in words. I have a dog and when he is sad, you can see it in his eyes. The monkey family are the closest thing to humans. A monkey can be taught how to do things humans do with repetition just like a child. The only difference is a child remembers, and an animal has to be shown the same thing every day. Animals cry when they are hurt. These are God's creatures and were not meant to be tortured. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord. These people will get what they deserve because some people call it Karma, but it is actually God taking out his vengeance. I am proud and greatly appreciative of SAEN for what they are doing to help these animals that cannot help themselves. I wish we could just go into the companies and release these creatures from their cages. God bless you and God please help these animals that cannot help themselves; Amen!

SAEN encourages everyone to use the Leaping Bunny website (www.leapingbunny.org) because before they include any company on their list they thoroughly check them and continue to monitor them, so we feel coming out with our own SAEN list of companies that do not test on animals would be redundant and we should use our efforts and resources in other ways to help animals in labs. So glad that you are purchasing products not tested on animals!
I am an activist and a citizen, a member of the public, with a serious concern for the animals and our place and role in standing up for them. In a age of self love and hedonistic lifestyles, its hard to put yourself aside and see the real world around you. To care for others, and their well being means to open your eyes, dig for the truth and really see what's around you. This group SAEN puts the truth out there for us to know! If we want to know and are ready for it. They truly have a deep concern for the animals and our rights too, as humans. Their site is largely informative in providing us with enough information to make me feel like I can make some sort of difference. Unlike other AR groups, I never feel like I have come to a road block with SAEN s site.. Any questions I have will always be answered and my efforts are directed towards the right path. Their group has helped me gain the knowledge I need to exercise my rights to be helping animals and those who need our voice.
For at least the past fifteen years I have known and worked with SAEN and it's founder. I can safely say that they are a dedicated organization, relentless in exposing the vivisection industry and placing pressure wisely on universities, government agencies and other entities to end their outdated, wasteful, scientifically and medically inaccurate and cruel animal studies. Where many nonprofits are criticized for allowing significant portions of annual budgets to be allocated for operations and staffing expenses, SAEN is an extremely ethical organization that places its mission far above and beyond other budgetary items. I am pleased to know SAEN is in existence and look forward to the ongoing future success of the group.
I observed first hand the knowledge and dedication the group SAEN--Stop Animal Exploitation Now--through their hardworking founder Michael Budkie, has to educate the world about the cruelties and non-necessities of vivisection, animal research.
I attended their 3 day national conference on vivisection last fall here in St. Louis. I was inspired by their speeches and presentations telling us how we can get more involved with our activism to combat animal research in labs across the country. I have taken their challenge to heart with my own activism, including being a mainstay protester and letter writer to Washington University with a local campaign to have them remove cats from their labs in the faulty research involving intubation for human respiratory problems. Last week our efforts were rewarded when the university announced they have ended research involving cats.
Thanks to SAEN for the inspiration they have provided for many to get involved and expose the cruelties and needless research on animals that is the ugly face of vivisection.
For the BEST up-to-date information on violations, inspections, USDA reports, letters of complaint to facilities abusing animals, SAEN is THE source. The reports demonstrate the disregard vivisectors have for their "test subjects". Essays about the life of laboratory animals are moving, touching and inspiring.
My husband and I have known Saen's founder for nearly two decades. His savvy and bare bones team have shown a rare, on target tenacity like no other animal abuse non-profit we've known in our 30 years involved in animal rights issues.
SAEN is one of the more dedicated groups working to protect animals against abuse and exploitation in laboratories.
SAEN is extremely effective at uncovering instances of animal abuse in laboratories and running campaigns to end the atrocities that occur behind closed doors. Their work is invaluable to local activists and the public.
Wonderful non-profit who stops at nothing to fight for animals! They do the pain staking work that others could not do, being a voice for animals and their suffering.
Stop Animal Exploitation Now! is one of the most admirable and straight forward groups to tackle the issues surrounding animal testing in recent years! SAEN has been a huge help in not only the projects that I've personally worked on, but also many other groups and individuals across North America. The work that SAEN does is invaluable in the fight against vivisection and animal exploitation, and they've been and continue to be a huge asset to the animal rights movement!!
The International Primate Protection League has worked with Stop Animal Exploitation now for many years and we admire their persistence and the fact that they do not wander into unrelated areas to get more funding. Their primary target every day is stopping abuse of animals in laboratories with an emphasis on nonhuman primates. Michael and Karen are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise with other organizations, including start-ups.
Animal experimentation is the most hidden of all atrocities committed against animals, but Michael and Karen Budkie of SAEN are changing that. SAEN is exposing the extreme cruelty, negligence, unreliability, huge tax dollar waste and misleading results of animal experimentation. There are a couple other non-profits that have been around for a century or so in the US that claim to be working to end vivisection, but SAEN (which formed less than 20 years ago) is the one that is making a difference for laboratory animals. I have learned a lot from SAEN and hope to learn much more to help in the fight against this unnecessary and deeply disturbing practice.
SAEN's campaign is based on research, producing results that command widespread respect from media, politicians and the public alike.
SAEN operates at every level, from grassroots protests to lobbying government, through to participation in academic discourse. Their contributed to numerous consultation on animal experimentation matters and gave evidence to their finding.
Underpinning all of their work is:
---> a scientific critique of animal experiments
They are very dedicated to their campaigns! When ever I volunteer I always have a good experience, I feel like I have helped made an impact.
I have the greatest respect and admiration for the work accomplished and the mission of SAEN! Michael and Karen Budkie have devoted their lives to helping bring an end to the unnecessary suffering and abuse of thousands upon thousands of innocent animals in laboratories and research facilities across the U.S. Primates, dogs, cats, mice, pigs, goats, horses, cows, birds, and more are being forced to live their lives in pain, terror and misery. I have personally assisted with organizing public rallies, contributing to SAEN organized letter writing campaigns, local news press releases with facts researched and provided by SAEN, City Council presentations and community exhibits to help educate the public about what is being done to millions of helpless animals each year under the guise of science. SAEN provides in depth information in regard to Federal inspection reports and information available to the public but not readily released without relentless and dedicated searching and requesting and constant investigation which is conducted by SAEN . Without their steadfast efforts, the endless inspection reports of findings of mutilation, deaths by neglect, and withholding of minimal mandated care would go unnoticed and swept under the rug time and time again. SAEN provides support and guidance to those of us who wish to help end the suffering of the animals being abused and dying in labs and research facilities. Public education and awareness is the key. SAEN gets the job done!
SAEN Is by far one of the most effective organizations I know and Michael and Karen Budkie are the leading authorities on animals confined in laboratories. They are extremely dedicated advocates for both animal and environmental rights, 2 of the few non-ego-centric personalities in "the movement" and phenomenal friends! SAEN is the "real deal" non-profit; well worth supporting!
SAEN is a dedicated group, committed to ending animal exploitation. They are tireless in their efforts to ensure colleges, labs, and testing facilities adhere to the standards required by law. They fight for animals who are imprisoned and experimented on in labs, and who are often times forgotten by the public. SAEN has by utmost respect.
SAEN does fantastic work on behalf of animals. They've made great progress in terms of getting actual results against labs, explosing the cruelty and making sure the regulators take notice and do their job. In addition, SAEN's conference is awesome and great at bringing together animal rights people to motivate and work together.
SAEN is the most amazing and dedicated organization when it comes to fighting for the voiceless and bringing awareness to the atrocities that occur on a daily basis to our fellow sentinent beings. SAEN lives and breathes equality, freedom and justice for all of the inprisoned, abused, neglected and tortured that cannot speak for themselves. I have the utmost respect for SAEN, a truly dedicated and amazing organization.
I have known and worked alongside the founders of Stop Animal Exploitation for over 10 years. They are experts in their field of fighting against the abuse and exploitation of animals in laboratories. Along with their deep knowledge base, their hard work and perseverance has led to numerous victories for laboratory animals. They do this with the highest level of honor and integrity.....something that you don't find very often. It is a pleasure to work with Stop Animal Exploitation Now.
SAEN has been extremely valuable in education about the plight of animals in research. I trust the information is correct and backed up with proof. It is time to open all the lab doors and see what just goes on inside.
SAEN! is an animal rights organization that focuses on revealing to the public the senseless cruelty to animals that researchers do in medical research labs across the country. By senseless I mean that SAEN! exposes 2 things: 1) why the research is not helpful to scientific progress and/or is very redundant, and 2) why the research is so horrifically cruel to the animals. SAEN! is not scared to expose the truth, which is carefully hidden by the NIH, scientists, universities, and medical research corporations. SAEN! is an extremely valuable resource to volunteers like me who want to work at the local level but do not have the scientific knowledge to understand the documents received in Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. SAEN! is a small yet extremely powerful organization and one that is very worth supporting if you care about the treatment of animals.
SAEN is willing to look at the injustices we inflict on innocent beings and speak out for them. They are tireless in their efforts to shine light into some of the darkest behavior of humans. I am grateful for them and their incredible work everyday.
I first learned of Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! when a friend invited me to a workshop: "How to Be Effective in the Fight for Animals". Afterward I was very pleased to talk with the Executive Director – Michael Budkie, and Operations Manager – Karen Budkie, and although I’ve been fighting the use of animals as test subjects for some time, it was obvious that there was so much more I and others could learn from the SAEN organization. The amount of information about the world of animal testing that SAEN unearths and supplies to the public is incomparable. They are exceptionally knowledgeable and have achieved a number of crucial objectives. I highly value SAEN as a major factor in the animal rights world and as a leader in the fight against animal testing; they are definitely a GREAT nonprofit organization!
I am an avid animal activist and I have worked with SAEN on numerous occasions. Michael Budkie (the head of SAEN) does so much to help animals in laboratories that I am in awe of his passion, dedication, work, and accomplishments. SAEN has taken on colleges and laboratories from coast to coast. SAEN has revealed violations and atrocities from Boston's world renowned Harvard Medical School to California's University of Southern California. Because of SAEN many cages across the US are empty! SAEN is a small organization that has a very loud, and strong voice for the animals. I strongly urge people to contact SAEN to volunteer, and donate as well.
After being an ARA (animal rights activist) for years, I have found that there are some good groups, rescues, and shelters, and organizations who are sincere and eager to change the deplorable conditions in the vivisection laboratories across our nation. The one organization that is consistent with their hard work and fact finding and Action is SAEN....it is a group that never seems to take a break from activism. They also have something that is very important to me: integrity and very high standards. For anyone who wants to sponsor or support an animal rights group, I recommend SAEN.....Michael Budkie and his wife live in southern Ohio and are Real people who have credibility.
