Review for Stop Animal Exploitation Now!, Milford, OH, USA

Rating: 5 stars

SAEN! is an animal rights organization that focuses on revealing to the public the senseless cruelty to animals that researchers do in medical research labs across the country. By senseless I mean that SAEN! exposes 2 things: 1) why the research is not helpful to scientific progress and/or is very redundant, and 2) why the research is so horrifically cruel to the animals. SAEN! is not scared to expose the truth, which is carefully hidden by the NIH, scientists, universities, and medical research corporations. SAEN! is an extremely valuable resource to volunteers like me who want to work at the local level but do not have the scientific knowledge to understand the documents received in Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. SAEN! is a small yet extremely powerful organization and one that is very worth supporting if you care about the treatment of animals.

Review for Center For Great Apes, Wauchula, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been on the Board of a monkey sanctuary, have visited 6 other primate sanctuaries, and the Center for Great Apes certainly ranks at the top of all sanctuaries I have visited! The apes are all happy, entertained with a wide variety of enrichment, and fed very healthy foods. Patti Ragan takes special care to ensure that each resident receives the special attention that he/she deserves. The fact that the apes can walk to their vet appointments is amazing! Patti knows every detail about each resident at the sanctuary, and her stories are captivating, and you can tell that she has a special relationship with each one of them. As a donor, I know that my money is going to the best care that can be provided to the resident chimpanzees and orangutans.

Review for The American Anti-Vivisection Society, Jenkintown, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a longtime member of AAVS and have found it to be an extremely resourceful organization. As a teacher, their Animalearn Division is very helpful. They have a Science Bank that teachers can borrow cruelty-free materials from for free. As a long-time animal advocate I have found the advice that I have received when I have called numerous people at AAVS to be very professional, informative, and practical. As the Board member of a small non-profit monkey sanctuary, AAVS has been a huge supporter through the Tina Nelson Sanctuary Fund. The mission of AAVS to reduce the use of animals in science for research, testing as well as for education, is one that I very strongly support. I love the fact that they back up all of their humane alternatives with scientific facts. Anyone who cares about animals should want to support this wonderful organization.

This great ape sanctuary is extremely well-run, well-organized, and most importantly, the apes are extremely happy! They are provided with healthy meals, a tremendous amount of enrichment, and the design of the sanctuary is amazing. The chimps do not need to leave to see the vet....they just need to walk thru the overhead tunnels to the vet hospital. Patti Ragan is an amazing person who has truly dedicated her life to ensuring that this is a great sanctuary and will remain so forever.
