Mission: This Foundation was formed in 1997 after the 400th anniversity celebration of the birth of Pocahontas held here in Gloucester County, Virginia, where she lived and saved the life of Capt. John Smith. A statue of her showing her as a child was erected at that time and shortly after the Pocahontas museum was opened, all financed by donations. One of the purposes of the Foundation is to tell the true story of Pocahontas, who was quite a remarkable child. It is much more interesting and inspiring than anything recently shown about her. She has been called the "Mother of America". We would like children to hear this true story.
